You could even have gone for a fresher example of there being Sentinels/archers in the Battle for Darkshore having those incredibly skimpy outfits.
I think it’s a little, yes. It’s a product of its time. It certainly makes for a memorable look, but it doesn’t offer much “real estate” in terms of design. If they had more to their outfits, they could really add a lot more design elements. Granted there’s such a thing as overdesign, but thus far I personally think they’ve done a mostly solid job with the units and heroes of Reforged for the most part. Nothing looks too busy, nothing looks too simple to the point of being unappealing.
Great, so they can make Sentinels like Lyudmila Mikhailovna Pavlichenko a real warrior woman, no need to care for even most current design they made for Darkshore right? It will be solid and realistic
I mean if that’s the most recent design they’ve had for specifically archer-type night elves (male and female), who knows? It could wind up being the original Warcraft 3 design again relatively untouched but just polished.
Opinions are not bizzare nor normal, they are opinions and everyone has their own, if you ask me particularly,
Putting the night elf example, as example,
I think it makes more sense for elfs to wear bikini than big armor covering them, their senses and agility are better than humans anyway, it could be say for such agile, tribal and arrogant creaturesas nigh elfs… (cause yeah in warcraft 3 they did have a bite) wearing big armor could be almost embarrassing, implying they fear they could be hurt despite their great senses…
Dark shore models don’t represent at all what nigh elves should feel like.
I mean I’m sure I could say something like “I think anyone that likes the colour orange is mentally deficient” and that would turn some heads, raise some questions. That would be a bizarre opinion to have, wouldn’t it?
If they’re that naturally superior, then wouldn’t armour specifically made for them prove to not be that much of a hindrance at all?

It’s not 1:1 but it’s close. Are you sure they aren’t evocative of roughly the same thing?
Most weird thing about his reply that he just made is, he first states that he thinks night elves should wear more armor and then says Darkshore represents how Night Elves should look like just like Warcraft III which is the game we are all discussing in the forums just because you said one bad thing against Blizzard
This wouldn’t be a battle choice obviously, but more an act of arrogance, the night elf civilization has too much pride, to the point they look down to the other races, and yes that’s how they were in warcraft 3,
A boot does not wear armour against an ant.
That’s not how it works, you basically extracted a extremely small part of my idea and put it out of context… Lol
We are talking about the rule and not the exceptions here, without mentioning in the case of huntresses and wardens that they are in front line. … Therefore even if they have the natural advantage damage is gonna be received… So mitigation is needed
In the case of the priestess of the moon, historically archers do not wear platemail… They use light armour for a reason… It’s simply not needed, an archer should always be one of the last troops to die.
So we could argue whether the armor could be more of a fashion choice…
Just like a bikini would be…
Funny how you would argue that it doesn’t make sense… When it’s something we are used to right now, vikings women and men alike use bikini and nobody seem to care about the historical accuracy of that… (they did wear armor)…
And about bizzare ideas, I can argue very much that an opinion seem from others perspective can be tagged as anything you want, what bizzare for you is, is not for someone else, for that reason I do say,
Opinions are opinions and should not be tagged, cause none of us hold absolute truth… Example of this
I thought your idea of female pitlords is completely bizzare, if u want to see démon boobs, u should play some other kind of game… As mythologically demons are gender less entities…(excepting incubi and succubi) (which btw are the only ones who can procreate) (if you don’t procreate you don’t need sexual organs… Naturally)
Pretty sure my “case” (I’m using this very loosely since I never really made much of one) for genderswapped heroes was just because of the rule of cool. It would be neat to see.
Rather than typing up essays on why it’s important purple elf cleavage stays in a video game.
And people wanting the bikini isn’t because of the rule of cool too?.
Hey I think it looks cool…
At the end of the day, if u care about gender is only because of the rule of being able to sexualize the character, I used to watch Scooby-Doo and never stopped to think if Fred had a peepee or a whohah
Same thing can be said about the bikini.
Stop the hipocrisy and stop thinking your ideas are good and others are just late for that party.
This just sounds like projecting to me. What if in Reforged multiplayer I just prefer the Mountain Queen’s voice actress in comparison to the Mountain King’s voice actor?
I only think people are late to the party when it comes to stamping their feet and having fits over what Blizzard’s done/doing to the Warcraft franchise’s lore when they’ve been doing it for YEARS now. Like let’s be honest, people are just mad about it since the MMO. But that started back in 2004.
They haven’t been doing it for years, the mind hive that collectively created warcraft is not there anymore, blizzard is only the name of a soul-less mindless corporation, again the people that collectively created warcraft is not there anymore, now we got people like Christie Goldie who are good book writers but when It came to portraying characters that were already created they not only failed, but pooped on really good characters
I’ll make it more specific, if these warcraft novels were standalone… I honestly would say Christie made a good job, but sadly the characters are not standalone… They were already there before the novel…
And that’s a big problem with outsourcing your own content.
The warcraft that once was, is not anymore, there’s no space for denying that, not the people, not the game, not the lore.
The question goes on, what they are making is better or the same quality as they were before? The most obvious answer is not, and let’s stop talking opinion, and go to facts, blizzard as a whole is losing money(they released earning calls for the period, wow is slowly dying, the subscribers are low…
So unlike you, we don’t think that closing our eyes and saying everything is alright is gonna save the game,
We would actually like the game take a good direction so it can live on, because we love it…
Being on denial and diluted is not gonna change that future… Unless blizzard start making good quality content as they used to.
In spite of them having a record-setting year for themselves in 2018?
7.5 billion for revenue (up 6% from 2017) and a 1.81 billion dollar net income (up from the 273 million in 2017).
The game is still around. I was just playing Warcraft 3 earlier today.
Why does Warcraft 3 need saving right now? I know they finally started releasing balance patches after more than a few years of leaving things be, currently playing with numbers and mechanics. Those are definitely gonna be iterative processes that current (and future, since Reforged will pull in more people and get more hands at various skill levels on deck for melee/ladder play) players should be giving their feedback on for their consideration.
Again not opinion, they released their earning calls earlier this week.
Warcraft is an ongoing title, think of it as anime, I’m sure that’s more the kind of basic talking you can handle, you can watch the old episodes, but I’m talking the newer ones, animation studio changed, they are out of ideas, people is not engaged anymore. The original author is not writting it… Everything is making it change… For worse or better…
Yeah we’re somewhat far away still, 1.31 revealed to me at least that they still got stuff to work on like a reworked renderer, I just tried a big map with multiple units and the bug where textures start flying around still happens.
At least they’re still working on the game as seen by the 1.31 ptr , give it a few more months before they can show some progress on Reforged itself outside of the backend code (1.29-1.30 and 1.31 have been back-end upgrades towards Reforged)
There is something that tickles me though that saying a multi-billion dollar company is on the way to being done for because they missed their first quarterly mark of this year by $140 million. While they still had a total revenue of $1,825 million for this quarter of 2019.
Oh, are we edging towards Ghostbusters syndrome here?
How does new stuff ruin any enjoyment of the old, still accessible stuff? I’m genuinely asking here while also understanding that the modern Warcraft stuff is very over the top comic book absurdity, although it’s not that far-fetched of a change since Warcraft was already a fantasy setting from the beginning.
