It got way better with the PTR. I still have some stutters (<100 fps) here and there but generally it is way more playable on the PTR.
Thanks for updating us all!
performance on the PTR is similar to the previous PTR version, so it seems like it does address the issue.
Youâve earned some goodwill points acknowledging this, donât rest on your laurels but thank you for bringing attention to this issue
So i tested the Low FPS Poor Performance Patch 1.36 (May 2023) and compared it to the PTR 24th of May 2023
Here is the result of my experience:
I noticed 70- 100 FPS (Frames per Second) Diffrence during my game
So there was a fix now it works way better
Can you stop saying âremove the patch?â itâs not as simple as you think it is, it will be a lot easier to simply deploy the fix when it is ready. Itâs not trivial creating builds for software like this and not a simple matter of pressing CTRL-Z.
Have a little patience, the signs point to this fix being valid.
As much as i understand your sentiment, hopefully blizzard does more testing in the future before releasing a patch that makes a 21 year old game lag on modern systemsâŚ
The impact greatly depends on your system, in particular in this case, it seems to be a memory leak, so the more RAM you have, likely the less the impact. Since a development studio typically posesses hardware that is more capable than that of most end users, they may have understandably not noticed the issue. Also, remember that the last PTR before the patch release was fine. This issue began with one of the hotfixes. Hotfixes by their nature are updates done quickly to address critical issues and probably didnât get sufficient internal testing time for anyone there to discover it.
These things happen, and not just to this game. If you worked in game dev, I think youâd have a better understanding.
stable 300 FPS before now 50-150 and very shaky
On PTR: 300FPS
-20 fps in ptr
Compared to version 1.35, PTR has decreased by 20 fps
crazy improvement on PTR compared to live, please push it asap so we can play the game
And once again of course you know and understand it better than anyone else. For your reference I have 32GB RAM from Corsair 3200 mHz and I have these issues. Mostly all system files that have been posted here have 16GB RAM. Stop talking this trash man. More than 80% of the setups here are extremely overpowered for Warcraft 3. You are spaming comments wherever you can.
Thanks!
thx my AMD / fps issue seems to be fixed now.
PTR fix works at least for me. I have 210 fps on PTR and 44 fps in avarage at live version.
Pc build:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800x3d
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3000
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti VENTUS 3X 8G OC, GDDR6X
M.2 SSD: Samsung 980 1TB
Yep, can confirm that the fix worked for me. FPS is now back to normal. Thanks devs.
System build:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800h
GPU: RTX 3060 mobile
RAM: 16GB (2x8) DDR4
Stuttering appears to have improved slightly but still having issues with low framerate, in general on live servers.

Your new hotfix (24th May) changes nothing.
People keep telling you that PTR version is working âproperlyâ, and Live is not.
PTR = 300 FPS, Live (with 24th hotfix) = 150 on average.
