[Main Thread] - FPS Performance Issues - June/July 2023

This is entirely unreleated to this thread, which is about performance issues. Crashes are another thing entirely and the campaign is well known to have certain crashing issues.

Rest assured, it’s simply that Activision (in particular) doesn’t care enough about this game to do what needs to be done for it. Diablo 4 is their money machine right now and you can be sure they’ll take better care of you there.

Decided to check the performance of the game with original low resolution assets. It appears everything is dandy there. No FPS drops and micro-stutters. I don’t yet know whether the original campaign will crash in similar moments as the Reforged version, but it appears that most of the problems are correlated with the Reforged mode. Good thing that we can at least play the original campaigns without so many issues.

Why hasn’t the PTR been updated yet.

Because there was a PTR and a patch released a while ago relating the problem.

This advice aged like milk haha. D4 is a mess now with the nerfs and new bugs Blizzard implemented into the game.

D4 is fine, it just has an entitled playerbase.

And the good thing about the swath of nerfs is now they can buff all sorts of stuff (and they are) and people won’t complain for a while.

Windows 10, Ryzen 5600X, RTX 3080
Live - 60 FPS with terrible frame pacing
PTR - 200 FPS with smooth frame pacing

Windows 11, Ryzen 7950X, 4090. Drops to below 60 FPS on live and constant micro stutters on 4k

I would like to reiterate that there is no fps issue with version 1.35.

When upgrading to version 1.36, fps issues began to occur, and all of your(CaptainJack) conclusions were incorrect.

Hahaha

Hahaha

Captain Jack attributed all the issues to 32GB of memory, then transferred them to the GPU issue, and now they have transferred from the GPU to the SSD issue. Attempting to transfer Blizzard’s technical bugs to other computer hardware aspects is a foolish idea. Quickly admit the mistake and apologize to all AMD users. You don’t have any AMD CPUs, you can’t provide any videos, you only have a sophistic mouth

From May to August, at least 20 AMD users reported problems with fps due to Captain Jack’s reckless behavior, and the technical personnel were not sure if there were any issues with fps,

The issue of low fps caused by the updated version in May has not been resolved until August

Thanks, you already stated the obvious elsewhere, you don’t need to post it everywhere. It’s not going to magically summon a response.

不知道叨叨个啥,装个大尾巴狼

Hey guys. This Bug is still going on. AMD User experience incredible low FPS and the game is stuttering. On PTR everything works fine. Let’s roll back to the PTR version if this can not be fixed.

It is not just the AMD user experience. People on Intel systems have reported performance issues as well.

That said: The community could really do with an update on this. Some people are affected more than others but this problem seems widespread. Even if nothing else happens, we’d really appreciate this issue being addressed.

I pre bought this game before it dropped, I have not been able to play the campaign at all. I’ve had nothing but bugs, freezes, crashes. this is frustrating, I’ve had the game sense it dropped. I want to play! Figure it out please!

See the other threads, but many campaign crashes can be avoided by always starting a mission fresh and not loading a mid game save. Not all of them, but it’s one of the most common causes.

It’s actually pretty sick that I can’t have a smooth game without constant spikes with the old ! graphics. AMD card user here. Everything was just fine before last patches, now game is unplayable. Nothing that is written above fixed the issue. I have no words anymore

Some people always say that there are no problems with AMD, but now more and more people are saying that there are problems with AMD’s CPU. Why is this? Lmao

记得1.36版本刚发布那会,fps只有50,而现在的1.36,fps能达到130,已经恢复不到1.35版本的巅峰(200fps)

Remember when version 1.36 was first released, the fps was only 50, but now at 1.36, the fps can reach 130, which is no longer the peak of version 1.35 (200fps)

毫无疑问,war3底层架构程序已经改变,增加了太多的新内容,比如高级obs等等

Undoubtedly, the underlying architecture program of War3 has changed and added too much new content, such as advanced OBS, etc

太多的附加内容导致优化程度大幅度下降,intel and amd cpu性能释放度严重下降,其中,amd的性能释放度下降了越40%。

Too much additional content leads to a significant decrease in optimization, resulting in a severe decrease in Intel and AMD CPU performance release. Among them, AMD’s performance release has decreased by more than 40%.

so,When will we roll back 1.35

Marking this as unsolved again, it’s been months! What’s holding that PTR back?
