I have a question

I can now open different versions of War3 (such as 1.35, 1.36, 20) on the same computer。
if i using the same computer
Using the same map
However, using different versions of War3

If there are different fps,

Can it be proven that the FPS issue was caused by the game version?

Some people believe that this is not the method of controlling variables and think it is incorrect.

Well, the game version certainly does play a big role in the FPS department, but it is usually not the sole reason.

In this case, assuming these different versions are all installed at the same time, we can leave out things like graphics driver versions. Maybe some factor like a particular Direct3D version being used (Direct3D9 was the version used for the vast majority of the game’s lifespan, only expanded to include Direct3D11 & 12 after 1.36, as explained in this thread)

Can you link screenshots of the different versions and mark them? Something like the first orc tutorial mission with an FPS counter somewhere. I wanna see comparisons.

Doesn’t this mean that the problem is caused by the game version?

Well, yes, but not directly. You can still run the newest version of the game in Direct3D9.

As for that video clip… Hm, I am curious what their performance would be nowadays since new drivers would have come around by now. I will admit it might not have much of a performance boost but still.

can clearly tell you that the fps of War3 2.0 is lower than that of version 1.36,

Unfortunately I can’t comment on that - I don’t have version 1.36 myself - only retail and 1.27b which has no ability to unlock the FPS for me to check.

I have a quesiton. Why did you make another thread to argue over the same thing you were just arguing over?

Yes, we all know that, FOR YOU, you have worse fps. But not everyone does. So we can either keep talking in circles about scientific methods, or you can accept that not everyone is getting the same performance with a given version of the game.

Different hardware, different versions of Windows, different drivers and so on will make everyone perform differently on different versions of the game. Different.

Also they only actually want to know about one specific, overly demanding custom map (made years ago and not updated for Reforged)

Also, previously you were discussing version 1.35 not 1.36, why the change now? Can’t even play that version anymore.

Yes, we all know that,Your FPS is worse than mine,

You only have a pitiful 71fps (at 2.0), while I have 110fps (at 2.0),
But in the past, when I had more than 180fps (at 1.35), who took away my fps? It was the updates of War3 that took away my fps, it was the thief

Actually, we don’t know that, because it’s not true.

But feel free to keep posting random nonsense.

You actually forgot what you said yesterday, so I’m reminding you,
Now everyone knows your FPS,

Everyone already knew my FPS, and it isn’t worse than yours.

My fps 70 > your fps 3-5 by your own claims. It seems you’re the one who forgot what they said yesterday.

Your 70fps is the fps when you first entered the game (without battle),
My 110fps is also the fps when I first entered the game (without battles),
The 3-5fps I mentioned refers to 4vs4 (fps played by 8 players simultaneously) within the game
And you didn’t provide FPS for 8 players to fight at the same time,
You only provided the fps when you first entered the game (without battle),
Mine 110fps (no battle)>your 70fps (no battle)
Mine 3-5 fps (in battle)>your 2-4 [maybe 1-2, hahahahahahaha (in battle)]
And you, mine 3-5 fps (in battle)<your 70 fps (without battle)
Obviously, you haven’t studied the method of controlling variables,

That’s not what you said in your original post. So you’re lying.

Also: my FPS increased to 110+ after switching to Classic mode. Which is good, since, as you said the map doesn’t take advantage of Reforged anyway.

So no, even if we accept your twisted truth, your FPS isn’t better than mine. And no one should accept it, because you refuse to publish the hardware in your computer.

You can easily tell, brother and captain, that these two accounts should actually be the same person. You are talking to the same person, I guess, hahaha

Unfortunately, we don’t know each other
This is a comparison

He’d be flattered that you think so, but as hard as it might be to accept that there’s more than one person who has better things to do than blame blizzard for everything that happens in the universe, there is.

Anyway, anyone who wants to discuss PC performance problems but isn’t willing to tell us what kind of harware they have… what big secret do they have to hide? They keep going on about their low FPS but refuse to tell us what kind of hardware they have. In another thread this guy went back and forth with me for 80+ posts talking about … something, I asked them to tell us their PC hardware a couple dozen times and they ignore it. They want to compare FPS but to make a good comparison one needs to know what kind of hardware they have.

Refusing to do so tells me they don’t want to solve the problem and only intend to troll. Which, I guess they succeeded given how long that thread went (and is still going) but I don’t mind if it doesn’t devolve into childish insults.

The person who wants to compare FPS is you, not me,
I have been using the same computer to compare the fps of different versions of the game, and indeed, I have been doing the same.

My computer hardware is different from yours, it’s impossible to compare, but you keep emphasizing.
Different computer hardware will produce different fps, which is why you have 70fps and I have 110fps,

At the beginning of the game, I had 110fps (at game start), 5-10fps (in battle), and 110fps → 5fps. Obviously, a game cannot be played at 5fps,
And you may only have 5-10 fps (which you haven’t provided, obviously the situation could be worse than 5-10)

You made a video specifically about comparing FPS in different verisons of the game and now you claim that you don’t want to compare anything. So why did you compare something?

You make no logical sense.

  1. I don’t know that our hardware is different, because you haven’t said what it is. Meanwhile I have posted mine publicly on this forum, as I have nothing to hide, unlike you.
  2. it is not impossible to compare hardware at all, there are entire communities devoted to discussing and comparing PC hardware configurations. If it was impossible to compare, no such groups would exist.

Like seriously all you’d have to do to steer this conversation toward an end is list your computer hardware. But you keep either ignoring or making excuses.

I have been using the same computer to compare the fps of different versions of the game, and indeed, I have been doing the same.

You make no logical sense.

I have been doing one thing, using the same hardware, the same map, and different game versions,
This is the method of controlling variables, obviously you don’t understand the method of controlling variables
The hardware between you and me is inherently different, so the conclusion is consistent with the facts.
You only have 70fps, while I have 110fps
You’ve been robbing me all along, your 70fps>3-5fps,
That’s because you introduced the first variable yourself
game start 、in battle, This is different
But if you think it’s a game statrt, it’s the same in battle.
