I’d just like to point out that the “Community flagging” feature on this forum is absolutely bonkers. OP has a legitimate issue with the game, and, more broadly, a legitimate issue with how Blizzard has responded to their player base’s issues with the game; and he is being reported for expressing his opinion.
Come on, guys. How you gonna do him like that?

It’s okay LazyHydra, I’m disgusting and shameful so my opinion and stance mean nothing.

You can say what you like. I don’t understand the need for childish name calling. You all act like I refunded and spit on good, ethically produced development work.
News flash!
The campaign was barely touched and the “fun” I had was from content made back in 2002. What I refunded, and therefore rejected, was idea that somehow our expectations were wrong and that we were asking too much. So I did what I should have admittedly done sooner; took back the money Blizzard, the company, does not deserve from me. It’s not even about money, it’s about sending a message that their behavior and rhetoric is not acceptable. We shouldn’t be giving them money to support their anti-consumerism decisions… but what you do with your money is your business. And I’m not going to call anybody any names because of their actions or thoughts.

Or just treat a game for what it is: a game. A game is designed to have fun. You yourself said that you not only played the game, but played it for awhile AND had and I quote “genuine fun”. Yet you refunded the game WHILE saying you hope things get better in the future. So you removed your “support” for them and wish they would improve things in the future WHILE having consumed the product. Look man, you can be dissapointed, but your actions are not a good look and you are out here on the forums telling people that you are a pretty sh*tty person, I am not sure what else you expected with your OP.

This is completely ridiculous reasoning when it comes to a refund. Do you go ask for your money back after sitting through a movie if you “formed your opinion” and didn’t feel it?

I think that’s kind of a false-equivalent. Warcraft was provided directly by Blizzard. A movie in a movie theater is provided by a third party (the movie theater).

oh you get the point
so based on your sense of equivalence, he should INSTEAD demand a refund from the producers of the film, wow that’s even smarter!

It’s not in any way a false equivalent. You don’t enjoy the entire experience and then go back to say it wasn’t good so that you have both the experience and all of your money.
You don’t do this with a book, a movie, or while eating a pizza, and it makes no sense to do this with a game either (especially considering how much gameplay the OP got out of playing the entire campaign).

Why does it matter that he played the whole wc3 campaign? How much was wc3 before reforged? $1? Okay so he played $0.50 of content because reforged is worse, and then refunded $40? Sounds fair to me.

The campaign isn’t “the entire experience” though. Even then, there are plenty of people that eat some of their food, and send it back complaining that it was. . . something. Undercooked, tasted like it was frozen, was absolutely horrible, there was a fly in it. Some restaurants will comp that item.
Uh . . . no? I’m just saying that the movie theater one is a bad example. I’m not going to try to rationalize what you would do in that example when that example simply doesn’t apply. . . .
Where are you getting these numbers? You are going to tell us you think the people who created the original wc3 campaign made something that is worth 0.50$?

So you are telling me, you don’t understand the point being made here?
about watching a movie and then asking for a refund AFTER watching it.
about going to a restaurant and eating the food and decide NOT to pay for it because you formed an opinion afterwards?

…Are you supposed to form an opinion about the taste of the food BEFORE you eat it? lmao.

why are you avoiding the question? Do you get the point or no?
I just answered your question. How are you supposed to form an opinion about something before you use/taste/view/play it?
You buy the game, you give it a shot, it disappoints, and you ask for your money back.
You buy a pillow, you sleep on it, the pillow sucks because it doesn’t stay fluffy in the middle or it isn’t hypoallergenic AS ADVERTISED or something…and you return it and get your money back.
How is this so difficult to understand?

TL;DR: A company advertises a product as one thing. You buy it, you try it, and it is NOT as advertised, and you return it for a refund.

Wc3 is an 18 year old game people don’t buy 18 year old games. So yes nowadays without an actual upgrade wc3 campaign is near worthless.

You don’t consume a pillow, you use it for a specific physical reason. You consume food, you consume content a game provides, you consume the entertainment media a film provides.
Your analogy does not stand. You are proving to me that you do not in fact, get the initial point.

TL;DR: Someone or a business advertises a product, you consume it, you don’t like it, you move on and make better choices about your future product consumption.
Also there is a mistake in your TLDR, the OP didn’t just TRY the product, he played through the entire campaign and then some AND ENJOYED IT, still refunded! xD
