So i have never and will never buy Reforged sorry the launch was hot garbage and I just don’t support what you did with a classic game…
Was playing WC3 with zero issue all last week and half this week suddenly i can’t even get the main menu to pop up…so i open a ticket and this is what i am told…WC3 Servers are gone and there are only WC3R servers…
So how does someone that has the og 2002 version keep playing…i don’t even want MP just the Campaign that i was literally playing not 24 hours ago…
I feel like locking people out of the 2002 version and forcing them to buy the current one is against a few laws…

Justin, after taking a look around at your issue I must inform you that the WC3 servers no longer exist because they have been replaced by WC3R. So I recommend that you please install the version of WC3R which is what will be played. If you still have the same problem installing the game, please try resetting your password and try again. For my part, I tell you that I have refreshed your account so we should overcome this inconvenience without problems

The issue preventing Classic players from playing should have just been fixed with the hotfix that went out an hour or so ago.

I have no idea what happend yesterday with my classic w3. i got some messages the reforged is free trial for 30 day, the client start to upgrade my w3 game , now i cant play … cuz after the upgrade , i got the message " you need to buy the reforged blablabala" . so is there any chance for play with my old w3 version ?
If you register your RoC CD key in your Battlenet account (under Redeem a Code) , it will allow you to play the Classic mode of WC3R.
This is why States in the US like California are trying to pass laws that prevent online stores from using the terms purchase or buy because despite many stating that you are only licensing the game in their ToS many customers are still getting upset when they lose the games or movies they loved. Personally, I don’t think that legislation goes far enough because I am fine with forcing them to only use the term “license” instead of buy or purchase but they also need to force companies to charge significantly less for digital licenses of games and movies. Perhaps forcing companies to go subscription would be the better option as with a subscription a company could give access to their entire store under the sub. I think most people would be fine paying more than the $14.99/mo they pay now for WoW as long as they weren’t being forced to pay $70-$100 for every new expansion especially when those new expansions override the previous ones. This is also part of why so many people turn to private servers or even piracy and thats the main reason some States are looking to at least make some changes. Even $50/mo would arguably be a fair cost to have unhindered access to all of Blizzards games and expansions. Sadly, that still doesn’t solve the issue with companies upgrading games and cutting servers even for physical games. When it comes to physical games they probably also need to pass some law that either forces a company to only offer digital if they are going to update their game and cut access to features even for those with physical copies. At the same time another solution could be forcing companies to allow their games to either enter the realm of abandonware and truly treat these games as abandoned and free for anyone who wishes to use them or force companies to have to sell their games to another company that’s willing to keep the game and its components running after the original company drops support. Either way the current way things are is just completely anti-consumer and even the laws that are currently pending DO NOT go far enough.

Well then they should offer us a refund cause i had ZERO issues with how the 2002 version was and didn’t ask for the god awful looking new menus…screw with reforged if they want to change crap leave 2002 version the hell alone.
You can certainly ask for one. They’re not going to just go out and give you one without you asking for it. Go to the support site and put in a request. But if you paid for it and played for too long they may or may not grant it.
Well that’s your opinion, I find the new menus are way better than the old ones. Pretty petty thing to be complaining about IMO, but you’re free to like or not like whatever you want to.

If i wanted new looking menus and alterations i would be the proud owner of Reforged…
But i want nothing to do with reforged so i never bought it…why is my OG 2002 version being forced to change?

Not everyone is going to agree on what is or isn’t an improvement. But the previous menus were really not great. If you want to say this isn’t better, that’s fine, you’re welcome to your opinion. But I think a lot of people have voiced in the past that it was something that could/should be worked on, so while you might feel that nothing needed to be changed, there were people who did feel that there was things that could be changed.
And that’s great…again was that not the entire purpose of reforged to update and alter the game…from menu’s all the way to character models and animations…yes or no was that not what reforged was for?
Well, yes. the whole point was to modernize a 20 year old game to look and feel more in line with how games are made today. Both to try to bring back old players and attract new ones.

Leave them separate if people want updated version there is Reforged. If they wanted OG there was the 2002 version…why update the 2002 version? If people wanted an update the option was there with Reforged…
Don’t fall for this Captain. They know full well that there are separate, non-Reforged version still available.
