I’m genuinely confused… can someone explain what’s going on?
They said they were Reforging the graphics. The graphics are all HD now.
What am I missing here…
Their original reveal promised a lot more than that, including changed camera angles on the campaign in-game cut scenes.
This is very clearly an example of a remake where funding was pulled or downsized mid-development and the developers just had to make due with what they could.
Also, they had a golden opportunity to modernize the controls/UI to be up to Starcraft II’s standard – why didn’t they? Why do we have to edit a .txt document somewhere in the game folder to change our keybinds?

Do you have an example of where they promised that? Because the teaser I saw from 2018 said that it was not final and subject to change.
The website also says “Reforged” cut scenes. The cut scenes in the game right now all have HD graphics. Again… what am I missing?

ALL textures are NOT updated.
The complaints come from the fact that whatever problems existed in the classic version, as well as several new ones still exist.
There’s a ton of features that are missing from classic, you can find a fat list of them wherever you search, as well as issues with Versus, Campaign and lacking Cinematics.
What I care about is the main menu/chatroom, laggy menu, getting booted from lobbies randomly, crashing and desyncs destroying custom games.
Some of the issues I listed here even existed way back in OG TFT, and somehow made it in here. There were 3rd party fixes for some of the issues, such as GProxy reconnect to games etc, but they were all removed along with the old game client not being supported.

I’m sorry, are you genuinely asking, or are you trying to defend Blizzard’s actions?
Because no matter how I look at it, this is a company with a lot of money to throw around that decided to put as little as possible towards a classic video game that deserves better treatment than this.
But if you really want some kind of source, you can see my cut scene gripe on pc.ign.

HD models/object and poor graphics. that’s all. The culling cutscenes is scrapped. Bad animation, lighting, no shadows on terrain, low fps.
They should have put more money since its the most Iconic blizzard game.

Idk why you even bother to mention this.
It’s marketing at its finest where you’re not sure what “reforged” means precisely, coupled with bait and switch tactics.
Question is why you are defending it?
Better question is this:
If all they did was making graphics HD and “reforge” the unit textures, is it worth 30$?
Absolutely not, and this is why we see people complaining, as well as people like you trying to act smart to score ego points.

You mean I was warning people that the final game would not look like the 2018 demo, and it now doesn’t look like the 2018 demo.

Dude… how many months did people sit on this board spreading misinformation about that demo. We told them to stop telling people things they had no way of confirming would be in the game.
They advertised Reforged graphics. I do see bugs… and I do see models that are clearly NOT finished… I’m not happy about that, but it’s a little confusing how many people thought we were getting that early concept, when it had “not final” and “subject to change” written all over it.
That’s all I’m saying…

That is not an excuse for baiting and switching. If anything that should be used an excuse for the trailer looking worse than the final product. Not the other way around.

This is the sort of information that encouraged pre-orders and gave people incentive to purchase. The majority of this has not been delivered.
You’re correct about the graphics update. But that’s all we got. And 1 new cutscene which was a completely remade version of the original Warcraft 3 intro. And that is simply not worth ~$50 AUD.

Removed profiles, clans, friends list, RoC campaign balance, tournaments, LAN, offline AI matches, cross chat with D2 players, cross region play for custom maps such as NA-EU, / commands, TFT menu screen, custom campaigns, custom game filter, and the old client. Removed dryad’s “I’m so wasted” line in typical california fashion, cut new cutscenes, new story content, new english voice acting, keybinds, ladder. Introduced new foreign dubs which are inferior to the original and cannot be changed back. Custom maps can now be reported so blizzard can ban any map and map creator they deem inappropriate such as anime arena/caterparty. Also the menu is terrible and unfinished with chat awkwardly clipping through other windows at times

Sorry, I was not on these forums nor was I paying attention to you, ever.
I’m just a guy who loved a game and bought the remake and feel cheated after all the Blizzcon hype Blizzard put behind it.
Hell, they were even too lazy to change the release date on the purchasing page when I bought it. Still said 2019.
