Bring back Patch 1.31. Now

I don’t care. I personally only play single-player.

Some of the balance changes affect single player too. Like if they change a spell’s stats, it gets changed in single player too. Also if you play the RoC campaign with Reforged mode/graphics, it uses TFT balance settings like resource costs, damage and armor type changes, and upkeep increases at 51, 81 and 100 max, rather than 41, 71 and 90 max. This usually makes it easier than was intended.

Again, I don’t care.

At least unlike 1.32 it’d be playable without ever having to fiddle with movie codecs that don’t even fully solve the cinematics problem, or be connected to Battle.net for any length of time.

I was already critical of 1.31.1 but in comparison to Reforged its a gift from heaven.

Remember the old original mass casters with piercing damage days? Lets bring that back.

Where would someone get 1.30.4?

You need to have played at that time. If you don’t already have it from Blizzard at the historic point in time when it was available, you lose.

Type “wc3 1.30.4 backup” in google. Open the first link from Hive. You’ll find it there.

Blizzard not only released an alpha-stage game, but of course destroyed any good fate remaining in player’s hearts after the Bltizchung debacle, the microtransactions of their lines of games and bending of the knee to the Chinese overlords.
No problem from me, I refunded Reforged (two spoils of war editions) and I’ll play the next Blizzard games which have LAN in them (that is: NONE).
What drives me mad is that with several devs from the community taking care of the game assets (textures and so on) it would have been a piece of cake to just have the same game (with LAN included and so on) and earn not only a ton of money, but the goodwill of the players.
Blizzard is dead and rotten, just like the Undead race. Not buying a game which has, 18 years later, less features than the original.
Thanks, Blizzard. No LAN - no buy.
P.S. Gooooooooood luck with Diablo IV - no LAN, microstransactions, always-online? Yeah, sure. Fool my Warcraft? Shame on me. Diablo IV? Not my game.

I think, that for now, at least, this is the end of siding with BNET and what-not. Current community playing Reforged is already tiny, and fewer still play actual Reforged mode, as the performance is abysmal. If Blizzard doesn’t fix Reforged soon, there may not be anyone playing the game in a few months.

The way I see it, for Warcraft 3, the only way to go is to play older patches on LAN. But frankly, that community is also not that big. Well and truly end of Warcraft 3, that Blizzard deliberately or not brought about.

As for Blizzard itself, I agree. Their reputation has been so tarnished at this point, that they are in league with EA and Bethesda. Far cry from a trustworthy company it’s been about the time Warcraft 3 released.

Having said all this, if Blizzard made a come-back similar to Hello Games, I think I would support that. But till then, there are many other exciting things like Bannerlord

The same thing that happened to Hero’s will happen.
When the Game is half decent. He is already going to have a declining community that is getting bored with him.

I mean encerio. With the reforged, my plan was to do a customized campaign, play the reformed campaign and see the skins of the Heros in vs.
All that during the holidays.

I haven’t accomplished any of the things in 4 months. They will end up giving it to me when I already have something else to play or do.

Just play 1.30 with WC3Connect at this point tbh.

Very True.

Just bring back Classic BNET.

I agree too. Please give us Stand-Alone Patchers for 1.31.1

1.32 is 1.31 plus one. Why be you, when you can be new? Get inspired. Reforge yourself.

Seriously though, 1.32 is everything 1.31 has plus more. They just tacked on more code. If you need the old menu, then use that Russian program that ejects out of the webpage mode to the old menu.

When I tried it, it was:

  1. Put Russian exe in reforged install dir
  2. Launch Russian exe
  3. See battlenet login webpage menu mode
  4. Press play offline but nothing happens
  5. Press space bar ten times

And then it ejects to the old menu with the 3D background screen but it has a new 3D model made for Reforged and the old menu is updated to have widescreen support (unlike 1.31 which just showed black on the sides).

Everything is the same except the Battle.net button does not work if you click it, and the Single Player menu’s “Custom Game” button was renamed to “Custom” or something like that. It was like they started on it but changed their mind to make the new one.

1.31.1 is less Harddrive blocked
Still old voice available
Custom Campaigns possible
After battle screen detailed with every faction exactly explaining how good it whas in each field
No Online DRM.

No.

Except custom campaigns and a striking lack of online DRM.

And removed features the game previously had, like the custom campaigns.

Is this what cognitive dissonance looks like? It’s not about the old menu, it’s about the features that were removed in what is CLEARLY a forced downgrade for existing users. A downgrade that happens to be so heavily DRM’d that the game I paid for will be unplayable in 10 years because there won’t be any authentication servers for it.

We were sold an incomplete product they clearly have no intention of finishing. Accept it and let go of your Blizzard fanboydom.

Clearly everything is NOT the same.

Please do not come into a thread that is asking for the previous version of the game, and mindlessly defend the current version. It makes you look stupid.

Can you apologists stop lying already? 1.32 (Reforged) doesn’t give anything. It just takes good things away. 1.31 (and lower) is still the original Warcraft that doesn’t need constant internet access, doesn’t need BNET, doesn’t have 20 gb bloatware, has Custom Campaigns, has an actual RoC client along with it’s balancing and models, has old good menus, etc. That’s on top of the fact, that these older patches have vastly better performance.

Stay fair. Only because of the preparation of reforged we got native wide-screen and don’t forget the 250ms hardcoded ping that everyone had. Also mapchanges, balance changes, loottable changes.

Still don’t need it

Fun how you write stuff like this and then proceeds to write lies

Except wide-screen support came with patch 1.29 (or 1.30). Although, even older patches can be played just fine on wide screens, as I did for a long time.

For internet access, just as the guys says here Warcraft 3 TFT offline mode - #8 by Leviathan-1945
Please do NOT require us to always be online for this!

Apparently, you do need internet access.

As for ping, how come there are so many threads here complaining about Reforged ping. Seems like whatever ping was back in original, it was better than Reforged

mapchanges, loottable changes.

What map changes? What lootables?

balance changes

Ah yes balance changes. You mean the ones that people have been complaining about for so long now? You mean TFT balancing in RoC campaign?

Yup, keep trying to be disingenuous and defend this trainwreck.
