I know we aren’t in the same world we were in when I was a young gun-jawed, flappy lipped boy, running off his bus like my butt was on fire, trying to get home so I could play as much competitive wc3 as I could before dinner was served. Heck, cellphones were annoying ways to communicate via texting. The point being, there is and was something special about Warcraft 3 that hadn’t ever existed before and in the now; it still is that diamond of a game that I wish the other young flappy-jawed kids who’ve now replaced most of us would find and enjoy.
And that’s why I want to praise you few who are working on this Reforged product. I know we don’t have the same kind of bosses anymore, and people we exist around aren’t like they used to be, but I believe that Reforged can change people, especially the youth.
The gaming industry has been changed drastically ever since the release of F2P games and the creation of micro-transactions. I’m not saying I’m against the latter being incorporated into Reforged, as I believe giving work to artists and creating passive income for this beloved RTS is good fuel for continued creative creation. I want to bring in the generation after us to experience the wide creativity of hundreds if not thousands of user-created games, as well as the beloved, exspansive strategy found in the competive scene. It’s all waiting for them. Ready to change the perception of what a good, quality game is.
I’m working on my own project for Reforged. I’ve been blessed to be able to spend hours upon it every day for months now, and it is nearing completion. It is, in a way, both a thank you to you devs, and a gift to the community.
So please don’t stop the great work and the belief you have in a game I have never stopped thinking about, even when I quit gaming to take on the world as a young adult. You earned this praise. Carry on.
I’ve long since lost my original blizzard/bnet account but I’ve played since warcraft1 and remember the days of dial up BBS with warcraft2 before battlenet existed. When I heard news of Reforged I bought my first pc rig in 15 years. Warcraft3 remains my favorite game of all time. I thank everyone - the devs and the players - for making this game the blessing it is.
In generally 2003-2008 from patch 1.02 to 1.22 was really bad time for me and I dont want it to return. I was a person who felt really alone for the inside. It was time after being schoolbullied and isolated myself with the game or world I found to be. I was even afraid to go outside because I was afraid that other people would suddenly hit me and mock me down.
I would do anything that that time, and that part of me would NOT to return. Even fight ww3.
Warcraft 3 got me through a really hard time in my life. I was in high school and had no friends. However, I made friends online I shared similar interests with and could hang out. I wasn’t alone.
The game is also spectacular. Top 5 favorite game of all time.
Kudos to blizzard for supporting old games. A lot of developers don’t, and I’m super excited to see what they keep doing with Warcraft 3 and later Reforged.
Wait are we including the part where they remastered Starcraft 1 and it seems to have gone off without a hitch, partnered with GOG to re-release Warcraft 1 and 2, and even Diablo 1?
Do you live on these forums? Anytime I post you respond within a minute, and I post maybe once or twice every few months.
You have never made a worthwhile post, everytime you post anything, it’s trolling of some kind, all in defense of blizzard, who does not deserve it.
I don’t recall them drastically changing the balance in Starcraft 1’s remaster. And they touched nothing with warcraft 1 and 2 other than I assume making it work on newer machines.
Yet with warcraft 3 they are insistent on altering everything to transform the game into a competitive esports game that they can get streamers to shill, so they can make an easy buck with reforged.
And yet, you keep defending them, making excuses, and trolling towards anyone who has any issue and qualm with what they have been doing.
If they wanted to do all this drastic nonsense, maybe make it SEPARATE from the rest of the game, and keep it to ladder? But I guess that would make too much sense.
I’ve got a few days off (finally) and play a lot, if not all, my games in borderless windowed mode so I can alt tab to check Discord every now and then. Or social media stuff.
I mean, beauty is in the eye of the beholder baby.
Except for when I do and have critiqued them. Granted maybe more generally than the Warcraft 3 diehards would like.
All true, but still. It pokes an itty bitty hole in your emotionally fueled hyperbole of “everything they touch dies”. These were all in the last two years.
I really want to believe that you actually are concerned, actually care about this game and are smart enough to criticize when blizzard does stupid crap, but everything I have seen from you is just “blizzard can do no wrong!” and trolling.
That, plus the thousands of posts you’ve made, the reality is, you’re a blizzard fanboy who is afraid of making papa blizzard angry. You probably want to be a forum moderator or something, and that requires being a good boy in their eyes.
If I strain my ears enough, I can actually hear the physical clash of these remarks.
You must have missed this post then where I’ve posted about stuff that I personally feel a bit (or more) slighted on/about.
I also wasn’t aware that being optimistic was outright fanboyism. I’ll have to keep that in mind, I guess.
I can’t even begin to imagine what single, heinous, and tremendous enough thing I’d have to do as a single, unknown individual to upset an entire company of Blizzard’s scale. I’m open to ideas though if you have any. I want to get them to take a look at some design elements in a few of their games across the board if I could get Blizzard to bend to my whims.
God no. I already have a job that, because of the location and high traffic, has me encounter more than enough strange scenarios. Could you imagine wading through support tickets/reports/flagged posts as a job? That’d be a bit much even for me.
It would be the final nail in the coffin (that I don’t care about) for some individuals on the forums that haven’t taken a shine to me. So while it would be funny to see their reactions, I could live without it.
Yeah lets praise them, been playing wc3 on and off for 16 years. been playing on my 2011 macbook for the last 4. Now with the latest patch I cant even load the game.
It’s (somehow) supposed to help invalidate or at least aid in belittling/demeaning my point of view.
If it’s not my post count, it’s how or what I post. I think Naga’s still upset with me he doesn’t understand what happened and with who in the joint Blizzard/Valve VS Lilith Games/uCool lawsuit, but called me lazy and a troll for… fact checking what he was saying.
Do not misspread information, you being a Blizzard troll has nothing to do with it, it has to do with the content of your posts, anyways I won’t feed you
