Macbook pro 16 M1. The same problem - black screen and “need update to 2.0.0.22365”.
The game still doesn’t have support of apple Silicon (only intel and rozetta2).
i had the same issue (need the 2.0.0.22365 update), i just tried this morning (the maintenance is done). Still does not work. New error message “there was an error handling the request. 6:9” (Macbook Pro 2019 with Intel i9 cpu here)
I see it is not problem on M1 only. Intel is not working too((
OMG, still a *up, does not work, i5 intel mac …
LOL I bought this game a couple weeks ago, I was actually thinking it never worked and I was being scammed until I saw those forum posts. Never in my life have I bought a released game and waited for weeks to play it!!!
Exactly the same problem here with a M2 Sequoia 15.1 and the worst is since the new update 2.0 I can’t play on my PC laptop no more it said I haven’t a correct key login of game…
This is exactly the error I am receiving right now.
Yesterday evening (well for Europe anyway ), I tried the first released version and it failed with a “there is a newer version” error. But this morning, I woke up to a new update, got excited and immediately updated the game. I opened it and the black screen error was gone. I could immediately see the UI.
However, this time, the game failed with this there was an error handling the request
error. And on the bottom of the error pop-up, there was a button labeled “Login”. I thought maybe the latest update just revoked all authentication made previously. So I went ahead and logged into my Battle.net account. But boy, was I mistaken when I thought that would work ! It didn’t work. I got the exact same there was an error handling the request
error.
Again, we’ll have to wait for a new fix
Note For Any Developer That is Reading This
Please, properly test the game on Mac! If Blizzard is not providing you guys with Mac computers, please let us know. I’m pretty sure there are people among us (like me) that can assist with the testing!
i think the game is getting harder & harder to maintain. There must be quite a bit of technical debt. And now they have to fix the huge amount of bugs introduced with the 2.0.0 patch with classic HD and all the new stuff…
maybe you are right
I’m an engineer too, and I couldn’t agree with you more
It’s incredible that everyone how works on tech can see how awful this whole situation has been. I hope Blizzard or Microsoft can see this and right size their teams to cover this major hole in their process.
So Blizz changed something - I can now get in so far as to mess with the options, but first you get to a screen that says ‘There was an error in handling the request. 6:9’ If you click login it takes you to a login screen inside the warcraft 3 window. You can login but you will just go round and round in a loop.
Man, what the hell is Blizzard doing with this. just bought the WC3 Reforged for the 2.0 and the Mac Support but it actually doesn’t work??? fix asap pls
Apparently they just push code into production and write release notes without actually checking anything
Where is Robby Starbuck when you need him…
Still havent been able to play on mac since 10/3… now, after update, different error code 6:9
Still doesn’t work, now stuck at login screen with error code 6:9.
I’m embarrassed for these devs responsible on MacOS platform. You guys shouldn’t advertise this game support on MacOS. What kind of f* up release that doesn’t work immediately right after?
C’mon guys, Blizzard ! When will we be able to actually play the game ?
We waited for 1 month for another error ? Do you guys even test what you release ?
They don’t, they posted on their release notes that the issue was fix and it isn’t, clearly their development process doesn’t include any quality standards for MAC… at this point I doubt there are even unit tests in that code
I bought the game over a month ago and I’ve yet to be able to use it. What a wonderful waste of money! As if anyone has extra money to be handing to a company like this for absolutely nothing. Same error, 6:9 dudes. The least I’ve ever laughed at 69.
