1.36.2.21498 broken on mac

The new patch breaks the game on mac. The new patch doesn’t seem to contain the main game executable file in /retail/Warcraft III.app

I have a MacBook Air 2021 and My game is not launching. Looking at this forum, it doesn’t look like I’m alone. Please fix soon I haven’t been able to play all day.

Hi, any update on this? Is it possible to revert to the previous patch or any kind of hot-fixes we can apply?

It’s funny we got soft-locked from playing the game we paid for

There ought to at least be the ability to play offline. But the game–a purchased game–is effectively gone.

The fix is taking too long, especially as no one has given any ETA updates or explanations.

They are basically stealing the game from us, and giving zero ETAs. But I assume the technical team is pretty bad, after all they deployed a patch with no testing apparently and didn’t notice they were blocking every Mac user out of the game

any news yet?

Why hasn’t this game been fixed by now? Why does battlenet suck so much?

IMO if your patch prevents all users of an entire OS to not be able to play the game, you should REVERT the patch until fixed.

I agree, seriously, if they intend to cater to many platforms, at least they should properly test on a Mac, having at least one Mac machine for testing is not a big deal, and they decided to let the players “test” for them anyway.

I think it’s fair to say battlenet should get sued for the way they treat their customers. I mean this is outrageous. It’s been nearly 24 hours and they have made no mention on when this game will be fixed. Like whoever tf is running battlenet needs to be replaced or sued ASAP because they consistently break the game and don’t gaf about the people who are trying to play. Its pathetic.

Stealing, so dramatic.
They stopped giving ETAs years ago because people weren’t comprehending the “estimated” part.

Battlenet is fine. It’s the game itself that isn’t working. And what are you going to sue “Battlenet” over? Battlenet is a series of linked computers.

If you mean sue Blizzard, what are you going to sue over? The $30? Have you ever sued, or retained an attorney before? I have for a contract dispute. It was a $400 fee to review my case, then an initial $10,000 fee up front to take it to court.

Additionally, you’ll quickly find out at your consultation that there is no case simply because 1) Its a bug. Bliz isn’t stealing anything. And 2) Bliz has posted about it and is working to fix it. And 3) the EULA you agree to informs that nothing, nothing, will ever be up and running 100% of the time due to unintended bugs.

Sorry but, there’s no case there.

A little less hyperbole and more logic would suit the both of you.

just turned off autoupdates cause of this. I guess every time an update is offered ill have to check the forums since Blizzard can’t even be trusted to roll out an update without breaking the entire game. amazing work guys

can you point out bliz’s post?

edit: found it Unable to Play on Mac

I did.

See under “16 hours ago (I even pointed this out above 10 hours ago)…”

I see you’ve taken the resident bootlicker position. (y)

So, your idea of a bootlicker is

  1. providing the post to those who are asking and/or claiming that Bliz hasn’t spoken on the issue.
  2. pointing out the ingnorance about the situation a person finds themself in?

Quite the mental gymnatics, Eve.

Wasn’t talking to you, steelerz.
