Zerg race - skillful or ez mode?

Back in 2011, 2013 or 2015 ZERG was undoubtedly considered to be the most skillful race to play

Now, at the end of 2019 do you still think it is or actually consider it the opposite? If so, which race now takes the most skill to play?

Zerg hasnt been a skilled race since queen ground attack range was upped to 5. I used to grudgingly respect when a zerg took his third. He had to actually fight for it. Now they just a move queen and send a drone. Zzzzzzz

As opposed to now, when terrans donā€™t win games period. You know its a bad time when even the ā€œjust play like Maruā€ meme no longer applies.

Iā€™m sure Terran players can overcome this supposed imbalance if they just learn how to use the move command like what happened with the introduction of the widow mine.

Was never true. Even so far back as 2012, David Kim was talking about how Terran players werenā€™t coming out of Europe and NA because of the difficulty of the micro.

Zerg players on Team Liquid and the forums all got up together and decided their race was the hardest.

Dunno if I believe theyā€™re the easiest, in Korea, most pros seem to agree Protoss is the easiest (GM representation agrees). In EU, most seem to agree itā€™s Zerg (though Iā€™ve heard a few Zergs say it is Protoss and vis versaā€“all other ladder distributions agree).

yea that damn tvt craft lasting less than a year
in the mean time bl infestor had no end in wol and it even came back and been going on for 6 months now

It wasnā€™t even that long. It was like 6 months.

Itā€™s like ā€œyeah, 5 barracks reaper was bad. We get it. Nobody denies that. Terran had a 70% win rate, they patched it almost instantly. It was almost 10 years agoā€

Meanwhile, we have been living Zergcraft for 2 years and the last Brood Lord infestor era lasted even longerā€¦

I wouldnt say any race is easier than the next but ill admit to this when playing ZvT if i dont lose all my ling/bane i can get map control and build whatever i want. Doesnt mean i win or lose but i literally do what i want when i wantā€¦ but if i lose those 1st batch of ling/bane or dont cause enough damage. i lose to bioā€¦

In my TvZā€¦ if im able to set up a contain then ill win in 1st 5 mins of the game. However this doesnt happen often seeā€¦ZvT responseā€¦ in all honestly theres not to many ways to out right beat zerg in the 1st 5 mins unless they dont scout cheese or they fail at rush and did not quit the game like they should haveā€¦

Then again why would you if you have so many advantages early on. Also. A lot of terran including myself make so many miskatakes and cant punish zerg for failing all in.

However match up is nearly 50/50 and feels winnable on both sides

I donā€™t know,but I stopped playing with zerg because I felt it was really easy compared to the other races (balance at higher level shoed it too), that was the start of my switch to random,and as I expected,zerg was the easiest race for me.

Every race is difficult to play once you hit a certain point. All of them take skill, but each race requires less skill in one area and more in another.

terran hardest by far, micro as well as macro, everytime i go back to this race, itā€™s a big difference to the others. No clue why they got added another siege/unsiege unit more to manageā€¦ The amount of stuff you have to manage is 5x if you want to use the races potential.

zerg ā€¦ control-ability got improved. The only struggle for me is regrouping queens Ā°_Ā°

protoss most a-movy, easy micro, easy macro

If you are going to cry about zerg, the least you could do is pick a unit that was buffed.

You missed the point. You are off topic.
Easy unequal overpowered race.

  • One is how much you have to control and ā€œworkā€ for to do the races stuff.
  • The other is the comparison when both players have that skill to do it.
