Zerg Max Supply is really 188-190ish

Hello all,

Hatcheries produce larvae which zerg morph into units. However, they don’t actually produce enough larvae for you to do anything meaningful on their own. To actually build units at a reasonable pace, you need a queen at the hatchery, doing a ‘larvae inject’ every 30 seconds. Thats the only way you’ll have a chance – and queens cost 2 supply.

so when a ‘maxed out roach army’ moves across the map, its actually not anywhere near a 200/200 -workers supply army. Its a 200/200 - workers & -queens supply army. Lets say you have 5 bases with 1 queen at each, thats 10 supply dedicated to producing larvae. That would put max supply for an attack at 190 -workers.

whats is your point? XD

The point is: Zerg consumes sup for production. the more hatch + “active inject” queen, the less sup for drones and army.

On the other hand, zerg has no sup for detector/transport.

nice note, but yes all races have advantages and disadvantages.

As long as it attacks, it is considered a unit in terms of army supply. Is it useful if you are going to attack or something else?, unless massed, no, but that does not mean the unit is dead weight, it has its own really good things, creep, decent ground to air, no gas required, good HP.

Queen mechanic is that way because something is needed to distribute larva mechanic to not make it boring and imbalanced, imagine a hatchery that could make tons of larvae all the time because you couldn’t kill queens, think that you can kill addons, pylons, warps…but you can’t disrupt Z other than sniping the usually well defended bulding because killing a queen wouldn’t make a difference.

Yes.

T many times needs some extra defense, mines, marines at bunkers, libs…at home, meaning less active army supply. P needs to makes obs so in the end P army will have 3-5 supply in the form of observers.

If we Just Point random Things Out:

Static d is Not so static for zerg. Its actually the opposite. Its mobile offense.

Anti-Zerg: Queens defend everything in the early game, queens are OP

Zerg: Queens are the only unit we can make to defend in the early game, please give us a real t1 unit.
