Zagara P2 Mother of Constructs

I really like this prestige but I don’t see ANYONE using it. What are your opinions on it?

I play all 4 forms of Zag so maybe I am biased xD, but I really find it strong and fun to play with uber aberrations. Corruptors still suck a$s, I just build 2-3 to use their dmg boost on high priority targets like Dominators. Never worth to mass them xD.

If it had to be buffed to attract more players (which I don’t think P2 actually needs) I would add “Bile Launchers get ability to uproot and root in different location, but their movement speed is reduced by 75% compared to other crawlers”.

It fits the mother of CONSTRUCTS vibe and we do not have anything to focus on bile launchers - which are one of the most underused yet stupidly powerful things in coop.

I personally like to use them especially on maps where side objectives force you to backtrack (Malwalfare). I just vomit some creep with overlords, put 1 spine, 1 spore and around 1-3 bile launchers which is enough to defend almost anything. With uprooting you wouldn’t feel that gas being wasted, you could actually siege with these as well.
Maybe their range upgrade could be slightly nerfed (from +10 to +5?) to compensate for ability to relocate?

P2 is my main Zag prestige, ackmon does too IIRC. But yeah most people prefer P1 probably because you just a-move with it. I also think corruptors need more buffs, they’re still weak against zerg air so maybe something to counter scourge and yamato shots from one-shotting them or maybe borrow from Alarak P3 and make Hunter Killers permanent but purchasable so we also have consistent ground-based AA aside from Zagara.

P2 Zagara is just… normal. It makes Zagara play like a regular Co-op commander, with a deathball army that you A-move all over the map and occasionally reinforce.
I suppose people prefer P1 because this prestige cranks Zagara’s unique mechanic of “cheap high burst damage disposable units” up to eleven, which is certainly more useful for several brutations (like the one with Avenger we’re having this week).

If nothing else, I also suspect people prefer her P1 because it’s her first prestige, and it saves from leveling up extra on account that the prestiges have to be unlocked in order. Leveling up Zagara is, not a fun experience.

But Scourge Queen is powerful, works vs. a lot of Mutations and Mutators, and easy to use since it doesn’t get that much easier than F2 A-move

I know some folk are averse to hero play. Either it’s not their style, or losing them is such a huge hit to your power level. (Dehaka and Nova can be instant revived, but it does take a hit on your economy. The likes of Kerrigan, Zagara, Super/Gary, Tychus sort of, Alarak, Zeratul, and Fenix’ suits means you’re without them for a minute while they’re reviving. That can be fatal in some situations)

Me… P1 got me through a LOT of tough Mutations I wouldn’t have otherwise (you get the achievements eventually, but that extra +75K XP from the bounty has added up over the course of several week’s Mutations). However, I’m maxed out and have gotten bored with P1, so P2 has become a viable alternative. On the plus side, it is nice to have Zagara back again (despite describing myself in the previous paragraph). As a bonus, her Frenzy still works on everyone, which is something your ally can get in on and appreciate as well (as this feature is also lacking on her P3).

On rare occasions, I have made Banalings manually (and ofc. at cost), which is a weird feeling, but a bit of a harkening back to the days of Versus.

In all honesty the most fun I had in coop was when I was leveling up the commanders.
Just normal play, 1-3 brutal games a day.

Was great, because you actually have to play the game and not get the win handed freerly to you - especially if ally is trashtier.

I do not like to play on alt account though, because it does not ‘progress’ your ascension bar. I like bumping up number and meters when replaying content.

It let you play with Zagara (Having CDs for offense and defense) while not relying entirely on the overplayed Baneling face splash. Being heavier units also do well for zombie maps where you need endurance more than spike damage.

I absolutely LOVE Zagara p2. However I think most people prefer p1 because of the playstyle. Typically when people want to play a commander with bulky and tanky units they go zeratul or nova. But quite honestly I think Zagara P2 is the best general use prestige because on most maps and mutations because:

  1. Abberations have almost the same health as ultralisks with a 3rd of the cost
  2. You can get them around 3:30 and they only take 18 seconds to spawn.
  3. They drop two banelings.
  4. You have access to Zagara and her frenzy works for allies too.

Highly underrated prestige. I almost always use this when I play Zagara.

Its similar to why I like Stetmann P1 the most. It bolsters arguably Stetmann’s best mechanic. The stetallites.

If only Stetellites give detection on P1. I would absolutely pick it over P2 but me having to make overseers and micro them is too much of a strain for an otherwise chill commander.

Maybe you could put the Overseers into oversight (or whatever it is called) to make them stationary.

You can a-move will all army hotkey and they will stay in place. Does that work?

Yeah I could but then I would forget to make them mobile again and then run into something like pack of lurkers or DTs and see that they’re on the other side of the map. Or I’d just go P0/P2 and give my strongest unit that will probably die last detector so I don’t have to worry about that scenario.

Don’t you play other COs that have to deal with this sort of thing? Stukov, Swann, Vorazun, Mengsk, and Abathur in particular

I just chalk that up to “don’t forget then”. Yes, that is a variation of “git gud”. However, that still applies to much of the game anyways, like making sure you’re constantly pumping out units with nearly any version of Zagara. Making sure you do your Banaling Barrages and HKs, topping it off with Frenzy if available. Etc. (which I do forget from time to time)

Yes I do but those commanders already force you to field detectors no matter what prestige you use. Stetmann makes you used to not making overseers. I think same goes for why people don’t like P1 Kerrigan, they’re used to making and deploying worms that playing without them seems like a massive downgrade.

Anyway I’m just saying what my experience is and why I don’t prefer P1 Stet. No need to point pitch forks at me.

I’m not. Seriously, no judgment here. I was just asking because the “workflow” is the same as all the other COs, so I was wondering why one couldn’t just adapt that here (my own experiences). When I play as Kerrigan P1 or Stetmann P1, I just tell myself that detection is gonna be like all of those other COs I mentioned (of which I play a lot of in generally anyways), and roll with that

i find it very useful, specially on early levels.

I guess I’m in the minority. My preferred prestige is her last one. Being able to use Zag’s abilities frequently is like a dream.

With P2 frenzy affects your teammate through. Which can be super beneficial.

P3 crew represent, being able to clear everymap by yourself is too good to pass up and that’s with global map presence.

No hate to P3 man. I’ve seen players do wonders with it. I just don’t have the APM to micromanage Zag the whole game though so I just grab it when I feel like a change of pace. P1 on the other hand is macro intensive since you need to re-max asap once your suicide units die off. It’s probably why P2 is my comfort pick it’s just the right balance of macro + micro.

Yeah, all of her prestiges (+) and (-) hit in their own ways!

To each his/her own koe. I simply fell in love Zag’s ability to clear maps almost entirely all on her own. Not something she can do otherwise.
