Zagara Bug? cannot spawn banelings

I don’t know if I ever could make banelings but I noticed shortly after the prestiges were added to the game that the option to spawn banelings was missing.

I was about level 3 or 4 when prestige was added, now I’m 8. The baneling nest still spawns free banelings, Zagaras skill to spawn banelings that shoot in a straight line works, I just can’t spawn them from larvae.

Is this normal or a bug? Do I have to just build a dozen baneling nests or something? I’ve seen people play her and have armies purely of banelings and scourge.

I just didn’t play her for so long hoping it would get fixed but it’s still a problem. Does anyone else have this bug?

You can only have 1 Baneling nest as Zagara
You can get banelings with 2 ways

  1. Passively you get free banelings spawned via the baneling nest (4 per rotation or 8 if you go for P1)
  2. You can morph Zerglings from larvae and then click the button to evolve them to banelings.

The only way free banelings won’t be a thing is with P2 you can’t get any spawning from the Baneling nest.

I don’t blame the OP. It’s easy to miss these things. When I first started Zagara, I was noting how she’d REALLY struggle against swarmy comp. Then I get to lv7 and was aware that she now gets free Banelings. And then I also noticed that she can make Baneling nests, period! Missed that structure all that time while I was leveling up!

Prior to lv7, no free Banelings spawn from them, so you’re free to build more than one of them at a time.

The only way Zagara spawns banelings all by herself and nothing else is when you are playing HOTS and I don’t mean Heart Of The Swarm I mean Heroes Of The Storm.

I didn’t actually remember below level 7 you could make more tha one…kinda funny considering I did all 3 Zagara’s prestiges and I never noticed it :rofl:

Also yeah in a way you get 2 banelings from Aberration when it dies but I highly doubt that’s an efficient way to make more of them :skull_and_crossbones:

Makes sense, as there’s not a reason to. The Baneling Nest upgrade cache is at lv11. Even if that came before lv7/free Banelings, you can get through all 3 upgrades in a timely manner. Unlike say, Abathur’s Roach Warren, or Zagara’s Spawning Pool which has 6 of them. And for the Roach Warren, a few of them have a bt (build time) of 110 to 120!
