because they won one tournament, its suddenly soocraft, reynorcraft and… elazorcraft (lol) so even 2nd places makes it now a -craft?
it was explained like 20 times now, why serral dark and reynor are completely legit not patch depended, so i wont argue with you about that another time.
Dude, zerg was definitely OP this year. It’s not a big deal. Having 1 terran in the round of 8 at Blizzcon is not a balanced a game at all. What are you having trouble with?
I really didn’t like his style of play, but he was unstapoable at his time.
Plus when he got back from retirement, he started to play those 30-35 swarm host plays in tournaments, that were so boring to watch.
Kid, if Serral would play Terran or Protoss, he would probably be just another Pro player who occasionally win some tournaments.
How the game is designed, you can make mistakes and still win as Zerg, hence you can trade inefficiently while having a superior economy. Than make a fast tech switch and win. That’s just pure math here.
Now, NOBODY is questioning that Serral is a fantastic player. He is the best at his race. Very talented, and plays a very solid style.
We just want to see some other races win tournaments for a change. Nothing else.
I think there’s a lot to be said about the influence Zest had on how Protoss is played. I may be wrong but as far as I understand a considerable amount of “standard builds” that exist today we’re originally invented by him (at least in part).
Not that I support whatever CrusadorKing meant but s***ting on soO because he didn’t win enough tournaments is dumb.
You realize soO had one of the longest consistent period of all time? He holds the record for most GSL finals participations at 6, he was top 3-5 Zerg in Korea since like 2014. Tournament wins aren’t the only metric to measure “greatness”. Some of us use different metrics.
well, thats btw also the reason, why you have to consider atleast the ro8, when you talk about tournament results. in 2019, there were 15 zvp in premier and major event finals. this alone shows, that toss wasnt that weak also in 2019. just because they didnt win doesnt mean, that they were in a bad state. so zerg did dominate in 2019, but not so hard like many people think.
I’m…not. I like SoO. I’m asking how he justifies calling it ‘SoOCraft’.
And the years where there was 1 Zerg in RO8?
What about the year where there were NO Zergs in the semi?
How many Zerg won actual GSL seasons in 2018?
Come on. You are being a partisan, and you know it.
You are whining and you know it.
Was it? I’m not so sure. When Terran/Protoss win, it’s always ‘well, the player is just good, Zergs need to adapt’. When Zergs start winning it’s ‘QQ ZERG OP QQ’.
Serral played amazingly. As did Dark. There is a reason people call Serral the best player in the world right now. Reynor got some very good bounces and Maru had some bad bounces in the ST.
But you know what? I really don’t care. Terran have had their time in the sun and Toss have dominated Korean GM for ages now. Someone will generally be on top and right now, it’s Zerg. Although we will have to see what GSL 2020 looks like after the nerfs.
and you blame that win on zerg being op? ok, what about all his 2nd places at gsl? and they werent in 2019. i mean, if someone is constantly around top4 or even top2, it will eventually happen, that he wins a tournament. and btw, that was the only good result we saw from soo in this year.
I blame zerg being OP on the fact that 9/15 premier tournaments were won by them and that the overall play-off positions that went to zerg were immeasurably high.
Honestly, you can play dumb and pretend zerg wasn’t favored all year, but even Blizzard agrees with me, so really you have no one but a minority of forum posters who actually believe zerg wasn’t favored, and I honestly feel you guys do, but don’t admit it.
i said several times, that zerg was favoured in 2019. but not in that way that guys in here pretend. especially soo proofed, that hes everything but a patchzerg. he could be a 6 time gsl winner. so that win at iem wasnt unexpected. again, if youre reaching the finals often enough, you will win eventually one day. so even if zerg was favoured in 2019, thats not the reason why he finally won a tournament.
SoO is a great player. Zergs had the advantage in 2019. SoO, as every zerg, was helped by this fact. It does not mean SoO only won because of his race.
