So at this point we can safely see
MVP
MC
NesTea
As in top 3 4 for sure.
We have all to see if we can agree on the next 6.

since its always a subjective list, we wont ever be able to agree on that. i see serral as #1, since hes the first foreigner ever to win a blizzcon and to dominate not just the foreign world, but also the korean world. so, as you see - opinions are different. that doesnt mean that either one of us is right or wrong.

Yeah, but I would like to see some arguments, that there is Maru or there is zest, and there couldnā€™t be Top 10 without them, because of such and suchā€¦

And Serral can not be nr. 1, he is too young, he has a bit of road before of him.

There is nothing strange about putting Innovation over maru rofl.

Innovation won 4 GSLs compared to Maruā€™s 5. However Innovation did so in a stronger era. Maru was post-kespa and is a patch terran. Innovation is arguably the greatest proleague player of all time, as he was ace of juggernaut SKT and has the most all kills out of any player in SC2 history. SSL wins too.

Even an old, past his prime Innovation can beat the likes of anyone including serral, maru, stats if heā€™s on and has eliminated them all in premier tournaments this year.

Maru is garbo lol

so sOs wins 2 blizzcons which is more than any other player EVER won, and has better consistency than Soo, let alone parting, in koreaā€™s top circuits, and heā€™s only top 20 LMAO

i like parting a lot but sOs is a monster in terms of what heā€™s accomplished

Patch terran after at least 4 different patches through 4 different GSL victories lol.

Which patch was he a patch terran? All of them? Kind of defeats the point right?

Im pretty surprised about the lack of love for Byun.

Also, didnā€™t see any MC love til near the end. Just his personality makes him honorable mention.

I think its something along the lines of:

  1. Serral (straight foreigner bias. And IMO zerg was OP for at least the last year)
  2. Innovation
  3. Maru
  4. MVP
    (2-4 really close)
  5. Life
  6. MC
  7. Nestea
  8. Zest
  9. Classic
  10. SOS
(it actually really tough. So hard to compare eras. Could easily put MVP, parting, Rain, MMA, Byun and more somewhere in that top 10. )

Tbf, terran got only buffs for the last few patches. The only nerf was affecting proxy raxes. Thats btw why we never really saw maru after his gsl wins. Just think about blizzcon 2018, where he got destroyed by sos, just because maru was as predictable as a starving man in an all you can eat buffet.

People really underestimate just how insanely good Innovation is. He is now 26 years old. Thatā€™s really old for a pro gamer. Snute retired at the age of 27-28 because he just couldnā€™t keep up with the game anymore. Itā€™s too fast paced. Innovation is making loads of mistakes Iā€™ve never seen him make all of which boil down to multitasking failures and he is STILL beating top players like Serral.

I hope Taeja really practices hard and shows these newbs how to play. Some of the games he won were ridiculously difficult and he carved them out of nothing when the game balance was rigged against him. Him and Innovation are the only GODs from WoL/HotS who havenā€™t moved on and there is nobody in the current terran talent pool who has come even close to eclipsing the accomplishments of these two.

Taeja had just barely come back from the military when he ran into serral at HSC and took him to the final game of a best of 5. The whine terrans had better be scared of this guy because heā€™s bound to blow their cry narrative to smithereens.

Ooh. Fun thread.

  • Boxer. Guy is a legend and just such an awesome chap all-round. While he never really made it in SC2, his impact on Starcraft overall is simply impossible to ignore.

  • Dark. LOVE the guyā€™s playstyle. Very much a pioneer of the modern aggressive styles of Zerg, but he can also play a solid late-game. Some of his decision making and micro makes Zerg look utterly broken.

  • Maru. Basically the best Terran alive.

  • Serral. The Zerg Maru. Also probably the first foreigner in a long time to really give the Korean pros a run for their money. Much like Dark, he makes

  • Classic. The guy has been around for ages, always plays rock solid.

  • DongRaeGu. First GSL winner, essentially the first Zerg to really figure out how to play the race in SC2.

  • MVP.

  • Innovation.

And yet the Korean GM is almost half Protoss.

A lot of what makes Zerg seem OP at present is a slightly outdated meta regarding timing attacks.

You mention Boxer but donā€™t mention Flash? Hmmm

Flash didā€¦okay in SC2, but does not come to mind as easily as Boxer does.

If we were talking purely in terms of SC1 then - sure?

Maru did proxies for 2 GSL wins, the other two he was doing almost macro only. Did you watch those?? One of those GSL wins was after Blizzcon 2018.

Maru did abuse proxies and ravens. Heā€™s not really a patch Terran but his play did significantly drop after those strats were taken out. Innovation has been much more consistent over the years and also has 4 GSLs. I would not put Maru over Inno for best Terran.

Itā€™s hard to say if Maru or innovation are better overall players in the grand scheme of things. All I know is that when people say Maru is a patch terran after 4 GSL wins, thatā€™s laughable.

How many GSLs did Maru win?

Maru seems to have gone from strength to strength and has only improved over time. He can cheese, he can play a tempo game or he can macro.

Innovation is a solid player but feels predictable and has become streaky.

Yeah sorry, should have mentioned mass raven too. My bad.

lol 4 time GSL winner is a patch terranā€¦thatā€™s a good one.

Do you know how ridiculous you sound?
