Why protoss shield battery cannot cancel healing

If you block yourself, than you can’t kill building, because all shield batteries will heal that, even if you spam stop. This is so stupid…

This is first time I’m hearing this O_O
Friendly buildings, as long as it’s not Photon Cannon, aren’t automatically healed. At least they shouldn’t be. Balance team specifically changed their behavior from automatically healing every friendly Protoss unit and building to automatically healing only units and Photon Cannons.

Choose all batteries by holding ctrl and turn off autocast by clicking on the icon, after destroying the building click again

Honestly, that’s what you get for using Skill Batteries in the first place.

Don’t tell me that you are playing Protos!!!
I have seen your posts here and you are a protoss player as i am…Zagara.

Go tell that to Mana that is in the habit to lose half his games because he is so cheap (when floating hundreds of minerals) as to not build a couple of SB in strategic locations in his nat and third/fourth…

Just look his last 5 games with Uthermal yesterday…

According to Kyung during his breakdown he said building shield batteries puts you behind. :joy:

Gooba you’re theoretically right about static defence, however consider that at pro level even 100 minerals can make the difference, so if someone doesn’t invest in turrets or sb it doesn’t mean he/she is a moron…

I understand very well the fact that a single stalker in the hands of a Dia/M is quite another beast if used by a Proffesional. Still, no matter how stellar is your micro, never a single Zealot (the cost of the SB) can do as much to help Archons and Immortals fighting in prototecting the Third/Nat as a single SB.
I hate and despise people that are smart after the battle (hindsight is always 20/20) that judge players without considering that Pros (and everybody that plays SC for that matter) take split-second decisions judging by what they know and what they see in that precise moment.
Still, if you know that an attack is coming in your Nat/Third and you are floating 300-400 minerals, it is very important to place one or two SB in strategic locations.

I am sorry to have to mention Mana because he is a gold-hearted guy, but this is just theorycrafting…

The secret with SB (and Static Defense for that matter) is to know where to stop and to make the possible minimum in the best possible locations.
Ever wondered how a Bronze/Silver Protoss is detected? He usually builds 12 Cannons as main base defense…

If you were a History-Buff i would remind you of what good the Maginot Line did to the French in 1940.

Now, look the first Game Serral vs. Stats and notice 3 SB that Stats built at his third where was a high-probablity that Serral would attack furiously. Only Stats can say if he would been able to withstand Serral repeated attack there without the 3 SB.

Now, it was a dangerous Nydus at Stat’s main, but that is a very uncertain possibility for spending 100-200 Minerals for something that might or might not happen.
Here is the high-intelligence of a Great-Player: he builds (spends) the minimum in static defenses for the maximum of effect in strategically selected places.
SB has the “ability” to transform units. An Arcon is something alone, but an Arcon that fights in the vicinity of a SB is a 660 HP beast…

So you’re saying they should nerf Archon? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He he he…

No, i am saying build one or two SB in places that you think a battle will take place. Archons and all units will thank-you.
