If it’s an early game strategy it’s cheese if you’re going for heavy economy it’s called being greedy. taking 4 bases and pumping 80 drones with no units isn’t cheese, it’s being greedy. Making a proxy barracks and spamming reapers is called cheese.

What you’re talking about would be called an all in. One has to wonder why there are two different words for what you’re talking about with one being much more vague. What a cheese really is, and the reason it’s used in terms of economy, is a player relying on a strategy that uses a lack of information to win.

They are similar but not quite. Cheese happen right away (Proxy gateway or 6 pool) but all ins in general are when you sacrifice eceonomy to go for a big attack with no back up. You can transition out of early game cheese easier than if you fail an all in. So they are similar but still different that’s why we have different terms for them.

I didn’t get the game until 2015 because I didnt know about the free digital download and thought it was more expensive. But in the years prior to that I studied videos like CRAZY and I knew the names of all the major pro players. I have also had SC1 since 1999 and played that against AIs for years and years and still do sometimes.
Try StarCraft Remastered… its the greatest RTS ever. It is StarCraft Bood War Perfection paired with a nice graphics update.
You’d be surprised what good a fresh coat of paint can do for your enjoyment of a classic game.

I’d rather not fight the UI at every turn and find the spells in BW to be comically imba. The only time I will play BW is with my cousins during Christmas.

Don’t compare me to Playa, he’s better at the game and significantly worse at articulating without using hyperbole. Plus who the hell smurfs? That’s some serious loser crap.
When I dropped to diamond MMR, I was getting cheesed 6x as much as in masters MMR. I even started to lose games against players 400 MMR below me because of the crazy dumb cheeses they throw out. Cheese is really annoying and is something that diamond players do quite often, but once you hit the masters 3 threshold and start facing low masters players, there’s a lot more macro games and games with fun timing pushes!
yeah I saw Remastered campaign mode when beasty did a remastered playthrough on youtube. Some of the new artwork is really good but some of it is frankly laughable. ActiBlizzard loves putting extremely cheesy crap into the game. I have some issues with the current development team tbh. Like I always liked green goth girl Kerrigan SC1 and I hated how they turned her into a purple swamp thing in SC2. New artwork for SC2 as well as SC1 is incredibly overrated. No thanks. I think I will stay with my old copy of SC1.

Maybe, maybe not. I think people play games for a lot of reasons. I used to play because my life sucked, had nothing else. Now I play for enjoyment…and I get zero enjoyment from sc2 currently. Everyone cheeses non-stop, Zerg are blatantly imba to an absurd degree due to a stupid macro mechanic, Protoss have been nerfed into a trashy deathball race again, Terran had all their already strong transitions buffed…
I mean wtf am I supposed to enjoy here? Constant vs Z? The non-stop Cheese (not that cheese is bad but if everyone is cheesing, that’s a sign there’s some severe imbalances)? The nearly overpowered transitions into mass Liberators?
I didn’t go from winning 3/4 of my games and improving to magically getting dumped on via loss of skill in 1 week. The balance team screwed up and they did it via favoritism, bad judgment calls and seemingly, a total lack of understanding as to what’s going on in sc2. It feels like they hired a bunch of crappy interns to deal with sc2…
My biggest complaint though is the idiotic change to Charge and how everyone somehow thinks glassy chargelots that zip around somewhat fast is a buff. Umm. No. It isn’t. It’s a massive nerf that killed off at least 2 strategies; 1 allin and 1 macro; and it’s because who cares if a zealot gets into range faster when they can’t kill stuff fast enough to compensate for the additional tanking they’re being asked to handle. Any buff to the zealot by increasing it’s movement speed is offset by using your brain and a forward pylon or warp prism.
And don’t get me started on the Observer nerf. That was pure pandering and bias. Whoever approved that nerf needs to be demoted because frustration is not a valid reason to nerf things; or rather; if it is, then that philosophy needs to be applied everywhere, not just where Terrans are getting annoyed.

Man you have 11k games and still in Plat. Do you really believe in what you are writing? It’s a game if you don’t like it, then don’t play it. I really couldn’t understand the whole “I’m gonna whine in the forum about this and that”. Go play something else, have fun no one is stooping you from doing so. If someone want to have fun in a game he firstly have to admit that he will lose and the majority of times he lost is because of him. Simple as this.
