Why is Terran and Protoss so easy?

It makes no sense and I am very confused. Terran and Protoss is so simple and easy. It takes no skill what so ever to get to masters or gm. Make workers make units at the same time, so easy. All your units automatically counter everything in my entire army. Whats up with Zerg being the only race without a tier 3 unit that shoots air/ground?

Immortal, storm counters 90% of my units with a simple a-move and spell spam. Stalkers counter everything else. Also, whats up with charge/glaives/blink all being on one building? Its a guessing game what all-in I have to counter.

Bio decimates everything from my Tier 1 unit to my Tier 3 units with minimal micro. Most of the players in Master I face don’t touch anything other than their marines and they just stutter step away (easiest micro in the game btw) and let the rest of their cost efficient army kill everything.

Hell thats lucky if I even play a Bio player as most Terrans just play Mech and literally press siege and amove their way into Grandmasters. This makes no sense what so ever. Its no wonder all the new RTS are stealing players away from this game.

LOL Protoss is NOT easy. I was just watching an old HOTS game of MVP vs Snute from like 10 years ago. MVP was steamrolling Snute with a deathball of collossus, zealots, stalkers, high templar, archons, etc…when is the last time you saw that in LOTV???

Nowadays Protoss can’t even get their units out quick enough. Then Terran or Zerg can do 2 base all ins and you’re basically dead within a few minutes. Even when you get units out quick enough they are awful compared to zerg and terran ground units. At the pro level these days you tend to see them go adepts into zealot harass most times just to (hopefully) buy enough time to make air units. And even then it’s not a guaranteed win.

What rank are you good sir?

right now I am tier 1 bronze. I was gone for 2 years and just started up again and trying to learn hotkeys. But in any case it’s not about me I was talking mainly about the pro scene then compared to now. I get that there is a lot of protoss in GM but pro level is a different world. I don’t know. Your points may be valid. I was just pointing out things I have been seeing at the pro level back in 2013/2014 compared to now. Even you cannot deny the game has changed a lot in 10 years.

sorry my bad I think it was MC vs. Snute…
Not sure why I always call him MVP…just a weird habit I guess.

I think mechanically Zerg is not that hard in the early/mid game.
also macro is not that brutal if you have the rhythm.

The hard thing for casual with Zerg is to be knowledgeable and in position.

Because you play zerg, the other races are always easier than the race we play

Terran isn’t easy, Zerg is easy, but you actually have to be able to attack with Zerglings, Terran shouldn’t be allowed to take 3 bases. Of course you have to be reasonably good and quick. T is only good for turtle but Z can mass the heck.

Problem is, who wants to play that style, it’s boring as heck.

Protoss has essentially become “the turtle race.” Although it was terran for quite a while in previous iterations of the game.

The trolling and BS on these Forums are insane!

There is no trolling or BS. These are facts.

They play skytoss the same way zergs used to play brood infestor during wings of liberty, aka they turtle on creep & refuse to ever attack. The difference is, during the brood infestor era, zerg peaked at 40% gm while protoss has been hitting as high as 50% on the EU gm. It’s very imbalanced and only a few elite players on earth are capable of beating it, meanwhile literally any protoss can do it – that’s why half of gm ended up protoss.

Why is Terran and Protoss so easy?

Terran isn’t easy. Terran is ridiculously hard because it’s the only race with significant army positioning limitations. Toss can go anywhere in the blink of an eye with recall or warpgate. Terran can’t do that. Zerg can be anywhere with nydus or zergling speed. Terran can’t do that. This means responding to harass is much harder than any other race, and it also means that terran is the only race with reinforcement challenges because their units spend a significant amount of time traveling across the map where they are vulnerable. Terrans offset these issues with ridiculous speed & micro. Marines caught out on a map are instantly picked up in medivacs. SCVs hit with a crackling runby are instantly transferred. Terran also has significant micro requirements, e.g. the outcome of a battle will be horrible for the terran without micro.

Protoss on the other hand is the incarnation of easy. Very little micro is necessary, but what micro there is gives enormous rewards despite being extremely easy to do. They have the economic advantage in all matchups, the army strength advantage, the multitasking advantage, and the mobility advantage. It’s amazing that protoss actually lose games. It really is.

Wait…what? You literally just saw Clem beat the best Zerg in the world by rallying units across the map and stutter stepping and you think they have problems with army positioning?

Terran can’t do that.

Yes they can, easily. Medivac boost can get you across the map before a Nydus can spawn and units get out of it.

and it also means that terran is the only race with reinforcement challenges because their units spend a significant amount of time traveling across the map where they are vulnerable.

Dumbest take I’ve ever seen. Terran has the most cost efficient army in the game. You WANT your units to always be across the map attacking because they automatically trade efficiently.

This means responding to harass is much harder than any other race,

They have PFs, siege tanks, and rally units out of their main faster than any race. What…are…you…talking…about?! Harassing a Terran is the hardest thing to do in this game.

Terrans offset these issues with ridiculous speed & micro.

lol, ok. They literally do not but I guess if you want to live in some delusional world where stutter stepping (The easiest micro in the game) takes ridiculous speed.

Terran also has significant micro requirements, e.g. the outcome of a battle will be horrible for the terran without micro.

I play in Masters and most of the players I face do nothing after sieging libs/tanks other than grabbing their marines and stutter stepping away. Hell, you can go watch EWC and see Clem just rally amove his units until Serral dies.

Protoss is easy but Terran is just as easy, if not easier.

Agree with all of this.

Many Terran players will insist Terran is hard because the race lacks the warp mechanics of Protoss or the macro/remax ability of Zerg, but Terran makes up for these shortcomings with its own strengths in many, many areas and ways.

There is a REASON Terran is the starter race that’s designed to teach players the basics. You don’t give newcomers a difficult, non-straightforward race as the practice race. Not saying that Terran faces no challenges, but the challenges the race do face are blown way out of proportion.

great points. I totally agree with you. The only thing I would say though is nydus is a bit harder to pull off than recall. And recall was arguably even more broken in BW because units could just warp anywhere the arbiter was…I like the idea of that better than always recalling to a nexus. I think they restored protoss economy that’s what made it stronger. For a while protoss economy was bad and chrono boost was garbage…but then later on they buff protoss economy, zealot, shield battery, chrono boost, I think even warp in timings and cool downs were boosted quite a bit.

I think the main problem on Zerg out side weak units is tech path

Remove lair and use roach warren or queen to get rest tech and keep hive tech.

Then on protoss I would remove twilit council and replace with Templar archive and upgrades put cyber core.

I think certain Zerg units needs be redesigned.

I mean I’ve played this game since wings of liberty and I still cant even get in the same league with Terran as I can zerg and toss. I was diamond / masters in WOL on both toss and zerg im diamond on both toss and zerg now I can barley hold plat with terran. SO maybe for you but i think Terran is way harder to play with. Zerg i feel like i do whatever I want and its fine toss to some extent the same Terran i feel like i have to be following some stupid 7+ minute road map to play correctly.

Protoss and Terran are so conceptual different.

If you like Zerg, well Protoss is very close to Zerg eco and a move style.

A lot of zergs actually switched to protoss when the zerg got those strong nerds: the creep and queen nerf removed the map hack, and, yes Zerg is not op anymore for some time, and you need actual skill to play.

Dude, there is a video where a 30 apm protoss plays against a 350 apm terran and wins. They are just A-move, if you think they are hard to play you are just not doing it right.

Click F2 for hellbat Thor army
Click M1+A on Zerg’s corner of the minimap
Bowl through 4x army supply worth of Zerg and destroy their base
Wow so hard much skill such positioning

Oh and before you bring it up, parking a smattering of siege tanks and missile turrets around PFs and flinging squads of expendable, dirt cheap hellions past spinecrawlers and queens to kill drones isn’t some sort of insane, physically strenuous activity. Even a rockjaw trogg could do that.
