Whoever said Byun is a patch terran

Ya, He beat Maru and Serral in the ASUS ROC.

Now, he has beaten Clem, Cure, and Rogue in TSL 6.

All while having an intense wrist injury.

Guess those reapers wasn’t why he was so good after all. Despite the claims of many players here (you know who you are).

they can’t comprehend that theoretically the best player should use every unit to win, and just because the best or one of the best was winning with Reapers doesn’t make them too good.

Maru wins all his games with MMM, and that’s because MMM IS too good, because otherwise Maru doeesn’t know what he’s doing.

I said the same thing about Startale life by in the HotS era, when he kept winning with swarm hosts, and I was like, “you don’t even need to do anything with Swarm Hosts, they win the game for you. Anybody can do that.” It took two years before blizzard patched the problem, and they’re still too good.

Moral of the story is your Korean “Gods” are nothing of the sort. Turns out Life was a cheater, and probably even getting boosted to get to the pro level, where he just won swarm host games because again, anybody can iwn a swarm host game in HotS era.

Not just anybody can micro repaers at 300 or 400 apm/Epm.

However, I agree Reapers SHOULD be obsolete at some point in the game, but it shouldnt’ be tier 1.5 because a STalker can be on the map before your reaper even reaches the opponent’s base.

Micro should not win a “Strategy game”. Should micro HELP win? Absolutely, but you shouldn’t just be able to run over somebody just because you have better micro than them either. I think reaper should be more than just a “late scout” but I don’t know what th efix should be. It’s like they can’t decide whether ot just completely remove it fro mthe game, so they weakened to the point of being an expensive SCV basically.

Speaking of Cheating Scandals, someone needs to investigate the New Orleans Saints for intentionally throwing football games. This is absurd that this is evne possible in 2020. 10-2 team get manhandled by a 3-8 team. not likely. They intentionally lost this game.

Byun is not injured. That’s just the excuse he used when he gets outplayed.

Byun is CERTAINLY impressive this year… but he’s not injured. Not in the slightest.

Bull. You watch his offline Super tournament. That’s called physical pain if I’ve ever seen it. He even got a yellow card warning for having to pause the game to alleviate his wrist pain.

Stop being a biased piece of garbage for once.

Wait they threaten to give you a loss just for pausing the game? Aren’t you allowed 3 pauses in an official blizzard game?

By the way, Last Shadow hurt his wrist the same way, with Reaper Micro. If you’re striking the keyboard 400 times in one minute, you tend to hurt your fingers and wrists. he damaged his wrists and hyper-extended his fingers and developed clubbed fingers and had to quit early on in WoL era.

I think it’s 2 pauses, and the second time is a red warning and is much more severe, but I actually dont think its ever happened to so the commentators didnt even know the rules on that.

Pausing the game doesn’t automatically confirmed that he’s injured… he kept playing his match… and honestly he didn’t look that injured… the next couple days signed up for multiple online tournaments… why not heal his “injuries”???

He was away from competition for 2 years and came back with SC2 related injuries? Allow me to doubt that.

If he has any pain, that’s temporary pain. Because that doesn’t stop him from playing more than literally everyone in the entire world. He’s playing good SC2 but his “injury” problems are blown out of proportion.

As a person who sfuffers from actual chronic, incurable pain, I’d like to ask how the hell you coudl possibly know that?

You can’t cure arthritis with a pill, ti takes cortizone injections to cure that, and even that doesn’t work for everyone.

ByuN plays through his injuries, just like Maru has. Also like Leenock who just came out of the hospital once.

It’s what they do. It’s their livelihood, and in Byuns case, a major passion.

He had injuries in the past. It appears he is prone to wrist injuries unfortunately. He was also playing while in the military, but could not enter tournaments.

It’s your anti-terran bias that’s clogging up that tunnel vision you’ve acquired. I doubt you would say the same thing about a zerg player.

I see this argument isn’t going anywhere, but as a physician, I do see genuine pain and I believe Byun was in genuine pain. Believe whatever you want Mr. God of bias.

cortisone injections don’t cure, only treat. I don’t know what Byun has, probably tendon issues and not arthritis, but steroid injections could alleviate pain substantially for a short amount of time, although really he has to let the tendon heal over time by no over-using it to really fix the problem. Muscle relaxer and NSAIDs could also help.

Thanks for info. I have Diabetic Nerve Pain “off the 10 point ER pain scale every day” diabetic nerve pain.

Neurontin stops the pain, but it can’t reverse it or actually “treat” the problem. You’re still actually getting sicker even if you can’t feel the pain any more from the medication, and then the pain gets worse and the medicine doesn’t treat it any more, so you have to increase ethe dosage.

Last Shadow was in a wrist brace is how bad he screwed up his own hand playing Reapers harass in WoL era.

You probably have had lower sensation tests then (i.e vibratory, protective sensation, etc.) in your feet. Can you feel your feet very well?

gabapentin helps with nerve pain. Really you have to lose weight and diet to allow anything else to work or it only gets worse.

My doctor put me on a low carbs diet an dI’ve lost 45 pounds, and it helped me get doewn from 3200 mg Neurontin per day down to 1600mg per day, so some of it is preventable, but a few days ago I felt about level 7 pain in spite of being on 1600 mg per day, it just came back, but turns out ive eaten too many carbs in the past few days, so that’ sprobably what it was, just a spike in my A1C.

Anyway, don’t want to get off-topic, but injries really do happen to high apm video game players, and it seems to be related to Terrans who use a lot of Reaper Micro.

I still have doubts about the severity of his “injuries”. When the guy doesn’t even take a single day of rest… it’s a sign that it’s not that bad. Nothing you say changes that fact. If it actually is that bad, which I don’t disagree with, then not only does he have wrist problems, he has severe problems with his judgement…

As long as you keep decreasing weight and taking adequate meds, things will only improve dramatically.

It sure does.

That’s complicated. When your livelihood is on the line, you’ll do weird stuff.

Or in my case, I had “poly Neuropathy” which feels lik edemonic Stigmata, and I was afraid to tell that to a medical doctor, but when I described it to one of the best doctors in the tri-state area, he immediatley knew what it was, and his partner is treating me and he’s THE best doctor in driving distance ,and he’s saved my life, but I was literallly afraid the doctor would think I was Insane if I described my symptoms, because there was no obvoiusly physical cause of the symptoms.

Neuropathy among diabetic patients are so extremely common that it’s insanely easy to diagnosis.

Yes I understand… Kevin Durant played the NBA Finals through his injuries… we know the rest.

Actually “I” don’t know the rest, because I don’t follow basketball much since the Michael Jordan era. Did he permanently injure himself?

Well, problem is millionaires are used to spending millions of dollars too, so takin gan entire season off risks bankruptcy. Just look at Johnny Depp, these millionaires spend more money than they make sometimes, and he’s 100 million dollars in debt now.

By the way, my diagnosiss was complicated by the fact I had very high iron and very high calcium too. I was tested for Wilson’s disease and similar heavy metals diseases just to be safe, and I’ve had multiple EMGs and Cat scans and MRI’s looking for lesions and stuff just to be safe. I have lost some feeling in the palms of my hands and finger tips and I’v ehad a case of ascending paralysis and another case of dscending paralysis that sent me to the ER. So I’ve been within an inch of being permanently crippled due to Diabetes and/or whatever else is wrong with me medically.
