Whoever created the MM system needs to be fired

it is pure insanity that the team game match making still pairs up the games the way it does after 10 years.

fire whoever made it, and re-do it from the ground up. there is no justification for this garbage and i’m infuriated that you people at blizzard continue to neglect a blatant problem.

stop sacrificing the quality of the matches over quantity of the matches and extend the search time.

it’s getting real super F****** old having to deal with this garbage on a daily basis, making countless threads about it and yet for some UNKNOWN reason you continue to neglect it.

if you want people to be kosher and act reasonably then do your part, and quit acting like a bunch of losers because you’re in a position of power.

it’s pathetic.

We have to deal with your daily crying, do you see us complaining about it?

Low terran skilled boys has been crying/whining and literally destroying the game for 10 years, do you see us complaining about it?

  • Less meltdown, more GIT GUD L2P

Thanks low skilled terran crying kid

Quantity over quality was actually a request from the players in order not to have 10min queues.

And we still get 10min+ queues in team games once past over 4k mmr. So imagine if that system wasn’t there… So no, please, I don’t want the 30min queues back, no thank you.

He’s a low level master player. He has to dodge every master league player to win some games but still gets challenged by diamonds. You are bad at starcraft OpenTrash.

I’d go as far as saying matchmaking has killed the game, especially team games, and especially when the game started losing popularity. Because once you start losing players, matchmaking takes longer to pair, and the skill levels between matches gets larger and larger. It’s like a small scratch on your jeans that turns into a tear and eventually a hole. A cycle of continuous damage that killed the casual ladder scene. It’s super unfortunate.

It almost seems like the team MMS was never interested in creating fair matches, but rather attempts to force everyone to lose 50% of their games. I’ve had many situations queuing alone where one team was composed entirely of masters players and the other team ranged from bronze to platinum. You open a blank whisper to the other team’s players to reveal that none of the masters’ team were even partied, the system seems to have just heavily stacked one team because it was time for some people to lose.

It would seem the only “solution” is to make friends with people at a level sufficient to your liking, and take advantage of the system to everyone else’s detriment.

Theres really no way to differentiate between “fair” games and winning 50% of games. The only thing that matchmaking systems look at is wins/losses.

Team games are a meme. If you take them seriously you should be embarrassed. You’re lucky they even put a queue system in it since its just a joke mode anyway. OP you sound like you would be better off playing Co-op VS AI, or better yet an entirely different game. Please stop posting.

It’s very easy. “Fair” would be a system which attempts to arrange the teams from the pool of available players such that each team’s strength is as even as possible; ie make the individual game as fair/balanced and thereby as fun possible.

What we have instead seems to be a system which organizes the available player pool in the most lopsided way possible so as to be able to predict and force a 50/50 outcome over many games. This is fundamentally different and far less enjoyable.

And how, exactly, is the matchmaker supposed to do that, if not by looking at relative winrates and who they were playing against? If you win more, youre clearly more skilled, so you need to either face stronger opponents or have a weaker ally to make that balance.

lol pro tech, are you seriously gonna make another post? just keep being the #1 2v2 player. it’s obviously super fun and exciting for you, you seem to love it.

Well a good start would be not to take from a pool of 8 non-partied players 4 masters ranked players on one team and then bronze-plat for the other team. Which happens. Often. Would it be such an incredible leap to think the game would’ve been “more fair” if it split the master’s players evenly between the teams instead, and then filled in the lower ranks? Nah, too difficult. I’m probably just making this whole situation up, laugh at me and get back to 1v1. That’s what I’m doing anyways.

Matchmaking used to be great up to almost end Heart of the Swarm, after that … i dont know what they did but they changed something and messed up big time. It took 10 games to determine your rank, but already after 5-6 games you could notice improvements in your matches being way more balanced, and thats even for 3vs3 and 4vs4 team games… they never fixed it again.

I agree it’s annoying to be placed against AT in random team. But, it’s not changing. We have been asking for years. Just be happy (: or find a partner. Happy to destroy the ladder with you!

My first game this season I took someone’s base so he said, “here you just win it all yourself then.” And then I did. And he still wasn’t happy about it :joy:

Problems with match making its not an SC problem, it seems to be a Blizzard problem.
I used to play wow and there isnt even a matching system on pvp, zero balancing between players.
Not mentioning other game systems within wow.
You can have an idea on how much they care about the player wellbeing.

Is there another way to measure “strength” besides wins/losses?

By integrating history of matches into a number according to the logistic curve relative to opponent score. It is a simple algorithm. And very accurate. This is how you measure skill! That is why some players are bronze and some are gm… because this math has rated their skill level… and is very accurate…
