I’d like to see some games from the grandmaster player with the lowest APM. Whatever types of strategy that person is using is what I want to learn.
I think the most important strategy is selecting Protoss before you hit the play button. The rest is just icing on the cake.
Pretty sure it’s a Toss player, due to APM inflation the other races have, and it’s most likely the TheMusZero. A Finnish guy that like his cannon rush. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t cannon rush vs Terran, yet has some success. Not sure about vs Zerg.
Guy had like 80 APM when I played him, but I’m sure he has like 110’ish when playing “normal.”
Thank you. I am surprised the cannon rush strategy could bring him to the Grandmaster league.
I remember white ra playing with really low apm at the beginning of lotv when he was testing the new game, he had around 100-120apm and was about to hit GM when I saw him playing.
Back in the day, Goody was an example of how far you can go with low apm.
Skytoss requires very low APM to be effective.
Ah ah ah ah ah
It’s pretty much the best ladder strat against Toss and Zerg if you know what you’re doing. Doesn’t take much APM. Only tricky part is figuring out what to do vs Terran.
The best low APM player of all time, say low 100’s, was Elfi. Another Finnish guy.
100-120 apm is not low at all. For high level play you need around 125-150 epm, everything else is clicking to support high tempo of the game. Zerg selects his all larva from 4-5 bases is 300+ apm.
I sure , He is protoss player
That used to be true. If you are looking for low APM / generally low effort strategies then BY FAR the smartest choice is terran and cyclone mech. There has never been a lower-effort unit comp in the game:
-
It requires virtually zero micro. You move click forward to get a lock, and move click backwards to kite. Kiting with stimbio requires stutter stepping, splits, medivac lifts, and medivac boosts all of which is extremely hard.
-
Build orders are very simple. You are working with a few factories and the builds are naturally very safe vs cheese.
-
You don’t spens your orbital energy with this style so hitting mule timings isn’t important so the multitasking is easier.
-
Vision is never a problem with a whopping 11 (!!!) Sight range on cyclones. This makes literally everything easier ranging from deflecting oracles to mid game battles.
-
Spending is extremely simple. You basically queue up cyclones and hellions. Cyclones/hellions are more expensive than marines and thus require fewer spending actions to have good production thus again the multitasking is easier compared to bio. Bio has more production facilities and that equates to more multitasking for proper spending.
This list goes on and on but I think you get the point. If you are a casual player and you were looking for a really easy style to play, then Cyclone hellion Mech is your guy.
If you are playing against protoss then you sprinkle in some widow mines and if you’re playing against zergs who are going for mutas then you also sprinkle in some widow mines. If you are playing against a zerg who is going for investors then you sprinkle in some liberators. It’s as easy as that.
It also depends on the type of MAP, and the game length, and gameplay. Rushes vs base trade, where apm drops down to 10.
I prefer playing against Cyclone Hellion over playing against plain bio as I think it is a more interesting unit composition but there is absolutely no denying that it is by far the easiest unit composition in the game. Bio is about parade pushing to deny bases and trading efficiently while you choke your opponent out, and if you ever lose momentum you back up into a more defensive posture and send out drops. Beating it is all about doing counter-attacks with lings and that’s about it. That’s basically all that there is to bioplay from a strategic perspective. Beating Cyclone hellion is more interesting from a strategical perspective because it can be beaten with a variety of strategical plays such as burrowed roaches or infestors casting fungal from the high ground etc.
A protoss player since the race has the lowest skill skillcap
Blah Blah Blah. Same nonsense as always.
