For those who don’t know I am talking about the little high ground at the edge of the natural on maps.
It hasn’t always been a thing as far as I recall it’s only been a feature in Legacy of the Void and even then, it didn’t start out as an inclusion on all maps, only some of them. So why do almost all maps have them now?
I mean it’s a feature that only benefits zerg, none of the other races can really make use of it, and it’s a pretty big benefit for Zerg. Free scouting of a 2nd base is a pretty big deal. Was zerg too weak before the pillars so they added it as a buff to Zerg? I don’t think that was the case but even if it were, is that still the case now?
Zerg has pretty dang good vision of the map already as a core mechanic it seems odd that they’d get this feature on all maps for so long…
It’s kind of like how some maps used to have specific high ground spots only accessible via drops that were in siege tank range of the natural or main, before people realized that it was unfair for one race to get such a huge advantage for no good reason…

Seems like hidden “buffs” to zerg to me.
I’m for removing this kind of “help” for zergs. Zergs already have many tools to scout.
Make your fast ovies/overseers/changelings or use your super fast lings at a cost of 25 minerals each!
Seems like they not only want a race that is better cost/efficient wise but the maps giving unfair advantage to them.

Yeah… Perverted zergs spying on you when you’re trying to do private business like expand… they have a building (nydus) that physically violates your base and spews out a disgusting substance… every other unit of theirs has tentacles… and we’re supposed to be ok with this?

They decided to remove RNG of maps so now every map should be the same with different tilesets

Reaper jump spot
No more 4 spawn 1v1 maps
Natural, 3rd 4th exactly on the same place
Size of the ramp
Size of the entrance to natural
Distance between bases
And many other rules…

As we see…maps are made sabotaging protoss always. There are ZERO features giving advantage to Protoss, only for Terran and Zerg.

Yes there are, the entrance to the nat always have the same size so you can wall off with 3 building and a gap for units to pass

No. It is for any race. All races can make a build blockade there. Zergs make it (with evos), Terrans make it (barracks and depots) and Protoss too.
It is just standard for protoss due to weaker Gateway units (mobility included)!

They dont have the exact same size tho you can always wall of with 3 buildings. some are wider some are more narrow. there is a map (triton i think) where the ramp is really wide. you need to hit an exact spot for your pylon or your wall is pretty off. the entrance of the natural will mostly vary which causes actually many losses even in pro play because for example you cant block that spot for your zealot not with 1 pylon or like the bigger surface area on triton demands a bigger sims city (more buildings=costs more). But yeah you are right that it helps that you always can wall with 3 buildings.

Major design flaw, they should fix it, maps cannot be allowed to be different
Terran has jump spot, Zerg pillar. Problem is, Terran jump spot is used once early on and reaper cant stay past enemy making any unit other than marine, Zealot or ling.
Pervert pillar is constant scouting until you build air to specifically deal with it.

Zerg really need it,imagine how crippled their economy would be if they had to drone scout, send a couple of lings or even sacrifice an overlord.

Yes,but many people will tell you that, that zerg must have perfect scout so they can drone safely. At this point the race has a guaranteed easy early game, look at all the changes to overlord speed done in the past, and pretty sure map makers must make that overlord spot or the maps won’t get into the live game.

The thing I don’t understand is why Zerg have to start with a free Overlord in the start of the game and each hatch only providing 6 sup? Why only Zerg is that way? Imagine Protoss starting with a Pylon, the 12forge cannon rushes hitting 20 secconds faster or Terran 12barracks…
I’m not saying one is more broken or anything nor that the game should be this way, I just don’t get why.

ok, my job is done, finished scouting, now i can do everything i want.
Only in ZvP is the pervy spot an issue. Why? Because Zerg have Queens and other Overlords for vision. Terran can lift a structure and let Marines do their job. Protoss though? Rush air or Hallucinate off of a Sentry.
And Zerg doesn’t need a free scout in ZvP for the 1st 3-5 minutes, cannon rushes come earlier than the ovie can scout, hence why people drone scout or watch their nat carefully so it doesn’t get cannon rushed. Proxy 4 gate? Ovie scouts it too late anyhow.
Basically any easy to spot cheese is going to get set up before the Ovie gets into position therefore, why does the pervy spot need to exist?

Thats why they drone scout? LMAO. you dont see such things with your overlord. Mostly zerg doesnt care that much about real scouting. You can hold a 12 pool when you went 17 17 17 and you see incoming lings with your first overlord. that has nothing to do with an overlord spot.
Watch last game parting on what was it? ocs? he didnt scout vs early pool and he tabbed out as soon as the lings hit his pylon. Thats why you usually go early scout. but not with zerg. if it was needed pros would do it.

Except for doing all-in why overlord is a problem ? you kill it immediatly when the first phoenix is out, or if you go robot you just make a stalker.
If doing all-in you can’t scout on time is cool, then bring back T1 drop and revert nyndus nerf
