What computer do you need to play with 30 FPS at least

When SC2 just released, I had 20-30 FPS when playing 4v4 with maxed supplies at medium graphic setting, but it is impossible now.

I know CPU is more important than GPU for SC2.

My plan is to get i3-10320 with integrated graphic card UHD630. Is it possible to play around 60 FPS with low graphic setting? I think SC2 does not need a lot of cores but high frequency of CPU.

If not, what do you have or what do you suggest

When building new computer, none of suggestion or testing includes SC2, so I don’t know what I should get.

Only you guys play, so you know it…

Or you can simply post your spec with the result when you are playing, it helps too.

Thanks

yes to the second one,the game still works on a single core

Then I think i3 10320 is the best choice, but is the frequency high enough?

I have 2 PCs
My desktop has i7 4790k @4ghz
Laptop has i5-3230m @2.60 ghz(i think turbo mode takes it to 3.0 or smth)

With the laptop I can play 2v2s fine, unless everyone is 200/200
No problems for 1v1,3v3 nearly unplayable fps drops to 1

As for the desktop no problem up to 3v3 but in 4v4s fps drops to around 30 in huge battles

(I never tried the game with integrated graphics card on my laptop btw)

What are your laptop and desktop’s graphic card?

Also what is your graphic setting?

Thanks

GTX970 on PC(extreme) 1920x1080
GTX660M on laptop (medium) 1920x1080

Thank you! I think i3-10320 should be fine.

I may buy a graphic card.

np,buy it if it doesn’t work

Sc2 is single core game, so only cpu frequency matters. What is your budget ? You should get at least over 4ghz, better 5. And if your cpu have hyper-threading, disable it, it causes huge fps drops in SC2! Also ram frequency matters. There is 20 fps difference between 2133mhz and 3200 ram. Today even ram frequency matters, especially in games, which can’t utilize multicore cpu. If you can’t afford more expensive ram, get 2133mhz and try lower timings on it, that gives you couple more fps. SC2 engine is old and crap! Also new 2000 series gpu, mainly 2080ti have huge fps boost in SC2. Other models not so much. Also check fps guide in technical section, there is great deal factors, which can affect your fps!!!

For me that’s a bad idea with Ampere and RDNA 2 cards coming out soon.
