Welp SC2 at WCS has been canceled. No longer going to have blizzcon finals… now that we see impending doom can we all come together and stop bickering about buffs and nerfs and just enjoy the short time we have left with this sweet game.
We will have 3 more years of guaranteed professional starcraft tournaments, that’s more than we could have expected for a “dead game”
The difference is that Blizzard won’t be in charge anymore, and the “blizzcon finals” will shift to IEM instead

I see you didn’t read the actual post.
ESL is taking over. We’re having more tournaments, and the grand finals has been moved to a different tournament/time of year (for a variety of reasons).
This doesn’t even take into account the Korean scene either, which will almost certainly go ahead. They’ve stated that they’re finalizing the details for the next few years in KR.
At the very least, we will have 3 years as a bare minimum.
Honestly, if anything this is actually a good thing for SCII.
They’ve stated that Blizzcon will still host Starcraft 2 as well. We just don’t know what form that will take at this point in time.

Also, blizz is putting additional money unto sc2 this year because of 10y anniversary. This news is one of the greatest ones we had in recent sc2 history.

But didn’t they say they are increasing prize pool, at least for next 4 years and than 1.2 from 1.9 million of $. I don’t know what was current prize pool. And there will still be 6 major tournaments.
If it is anniversary, they could hire pros to balance game. Their team sucks. Give us new year gift. I want back sc2, which is playable and fun. Delete lotv revert to hots and sc2 is great again…

I’m so excited for Warcraft 3 remaster! I just can’t wait for the 100 supply cap with most of the units taking +3 supply. I just can’t wait for these 120 seconds fights between units with 500 HP and 4 DPS. THE MICRO!! And then badaboom RECALL SPELL FOR ALL RACES - NO UNIT WAS KILLED IN THE 20 units (and 100 supply) 120 SECONDS BATTLE!

Don’t forget how hilariously imbalanced wc3 was. Druid of the “I do everything”, every race being able to dispel skeletons, making Necromancers trash, Ghouls being so bad that the only way to play UD was to get Crypt Fiends and Arthas until tier 2…
I loved WarCraft 3 when it came out but times have changed…I don’t think it’s going to do very well after the initial hype plays out. Back then, Blizzard was notoriously bad at balance.

I haven’t played in a few years, wasn’t even aware they started doing balance changes again. When I last played, Blizzard did no changes. None outside of nerfing NE Archers and everyone played NE simply because Druids were insanely overtuned. If times have changed, great.
It’s pretty sad that the best “good news” you can muster is that the game isn’t quite dead just yet. How many more times does serral have to win before people get bored?

They did some balance changes after they announced Warcraft 3 remaster (probably multiple balance changes already). I don’t track them but all I remember from the first balance change was a heavy nerfs to Night Elves race so if you liked to play Undead you should try again when they release the game. Maybe it will be more fun for you now.
Also I played mostly human and not really that much at all so I don’t know too much about Warcraft 3 balance but skeletons are free units like swarm hosts so they are unhealthy for the game in my opinion.

Oh wait, you played way back then… I thought you were referring to right after they recently started patching the game again and buffed Keeper of the Grove so hard that all Warcraft 3 tournaments looked like last blizzcon, but with NE instead of Zerg. Actually worse, they did have a NE only semis.
Yes, they also nerfed druids, and KotG is back to keeper of the grove instead of keeper of the gods. And UD they’ve tried some buffs and reworks, and now dreadlord opener is kinda good… but DK is just the best hero UD has. Last I heard, balance was looking kinda like ORC>HU>NE>UD, though it seems to be mostly closer, aside from the insane bloodlust and Tauren buffs.
