Warcraft III Commanders . .

We have Warcraft III assets in the editor, and we’ll presumably get warcraft reforged assets when it releases.

So if you were tasked with making a Warcraft 3 commander, who would you pick, and what would their army look like? Would you use a hero of give them a top bar?

Disclaimer: This is just for fun. If you feel violently offended at the idea of a warcraft commander: take a deep breath and remember that no one here has the authority to make it happen, and let people have their fun.

I’d say I would go for a “missing link” commander. Maybe an Elite tauren chieftain commander or a space orc.

Does this mean Diablo commanders are also possible? You know, since we’re imagining anything non-Starcraft related.

Diablo 1 Andariel commander would be great.

Sounds like Tauren marines are a possibility. Make orc marines/troopers too? And Blood Elf Banshees?

Diablo commander - control a group of possessed Zergs to show Amon who is more Evil.
Warchief Wagyu Hotsteak - command the Galactic Horde of Space Taurens to the rescue. ‘May Mama Space watch over you, comrade’

Then John Wick commander is also possible

We could pretty much have a Tychus version with Diablo! :sunglasses:

And a Stukov version of Diablo :sunglasses:

IIf it can be anything,

Leroy Jenkins: Suicide Units Only. SCVs and Drones are produced together and die after collecting 10 minerals, so you have to keep making more, etc, etc. Also he has an extra resource called chicken.

I love this Commander, but have literally zero idea what the chicken is about. You have my support anyways Leeroy!
Oh, and he should yell “LLLEEEEEERRRRROOOOOOYYYYY JJJJEEEEEEENNNNNKKKKIIIIIIINSSSS” automatically at the start of a match

I’d love to see someone from the Burning Legion as a commander. Someone like Mannoroth.

Starting with Big Manny himself, I’d make him a pretty straight forward.

He’d be a massive hero, spawning in at around a minute thirty or so, and would respawn with about half his health missing should he die.

His abilities would be cleave, a melee passive attack that does cone damage in front of him.

Howl of terror, an AoE debuff to attack damage and speed.

Enrage, gain air attack, attack damage and speed at the cost of defense, while also buffing his other spells while active.

And Reign of Chaos, drops down 4 (8 if enraged) abyssals, damaging and stunning units on impact.

The general design I have in mind for him is a sort of a more risky Kerrigan. His strong abilities and large health pool would allow him to be an early game workhorse, but without a self heal/shield, constantly solo throwing him into bad engagements would quickly cripple him.

If killed, his bio units will respawn back at his base at half of their build time, but the effect would have a 3 minute cooldown.

For the units, he’d have the Gan’arg. Maybe it could sacrifice health to boost movement speed/build speed.

Out of your starting barracks, you’d get three options of units.

Imps, a cheapo spammy ranged unit with little health. Comes out to 5 imps per 2 pop.

Fel-guards, the sturdy low-tier melee unit. Basically a zealot, but with higher health, damage, and mineral cost.

Mo’arg, the melee support. Summons turrets and gives defense buffs to nearby minions at the cost of energy. Has detection.

For his mechs, he’d get two kinds.

Infernal, the tanky melee construct with a passive AoE damage effect.

Infernal machine, the expensive but powerful siege vehicle. Can be upgraded to hit air.

Overall, I’m thinking he’d be the kind of commander type that would do well against ground comps, but would struggle in the early to mid game against air heavy comps.

Malfurion
Units: Wisp(worker), Druid of the claw, Dryad, Faerie Dragon, Druid of the Talon, Chimera

Gimmick: all units but Dryad can morph(back and forth) to second form

Claw(short range with heals)-Bear(tanky melee),
Talon(cc castor/auto-a)-Bird(cheap aa),
Faerie Dragon(strong aa)-Chimera(strong anti ground)
(I know that last morph makes hardly any sense)
oh, and for Dryad, gets a small feedback/emp on auto-a upgrade

I never played WC3…

Wisps of course circle the mineral fields and vespene(Tree) and give you resources without the need for them to travel back to and from the tree of Ages.

(Two months late, Crap. Whooops.)

I won’t complain about my post being necroed if you have something to add.

i am working on a warcraft 3 map with co-op commanders. jaina have a unique krin tor faction with her own way of gathering resources. then i have lord garithos with elite knights and a food cap of 100 without farms(normal food cap is increased to 200). kael`thas have the unique blood elf faction. then i have muradin with his dwarf faction and vashj with her naga faction. arthas have a reign of chaos human faction.

If they want to make WC3-themed commanders, my recommendation would be to start by making both an Alliance-themed commander and a Horde-themed commander, then release them together. That would be a much bigger undertaking than a regular new commander, but it would feel like more of an event, and leveling them up would be less of a pain.

Necro is bad enough but unoriginal commander by using WC3 theme… I hope this never happen. If I wanted to play a WC3 commander, I’d just play WC3

Count my money out already now.

For all complaints about the theme: See below.

i would buy warcraft 3 commanders but, they need to include warcraft 3 based missions for them. a good way to do it is to have 2 modes in co-op: one starcraft 2 mode and one warcraft 3 mode. it would of course be even better if they included it in warcraft 3 reforged. if they make it for starcraft 2 however: they need to include 4 commanders, one for each race.

Sorry about the sentiment but this was necro’d out. I do remember your original post disclaimer, now that you reposted it again. Just couldn’t remember all the content earlier.
