After a long time not playing this game, I have just completed my clasificatory matches. I am now platinum 3. I have been looking at the players in my same rank. For some reason, there are many terrans, even more zergs, and a few protoss. Specifically, 21 protoss players out of 100.
Is there any reason for this? It seems very, very unbalanced. I guess most of the people in ranked are playing what is better in the moment, to rank up as fast as possible, so it seems like protoss is in a very weak position.
and because there are 21 toss players in your division, you think, that this is representive for the whole playerbase? srsly? no offense to you, but you dont need to be an einstein to know, that a single division doesnt say anything about the whole playerbase.
The entire playerbase suggests protoss is the least played race of all 3.
It has the highest representations at the lowest levels and the lowest at the highest levels (except GM).
This is because protoss scales so well with having perfectly timed buildorders and strategies while also having to be good in every aspect of the game. Terran on the other hand just requires you to have good control while zerg requires you to have good macro / read of what’s going on in the game
Actually, looking at the actual numbers, protoss is percentage wise EVEN MORE outnumbered in diamond and masters. It looks more like protoss players are all stuck in silver/gold.
You guys both really need to get your eyes checked.
He said protoss is most represented in GM (objectively true), protoss is least represented going down the next few ranks from GM (objectively true; masters to plat) and that protoss is the most represented in the lower leagues (not true, but protoss is more and more abundant the lower you go. Stats indicate that to be zerg’s fault though.). And finally he said protoss is the least played race which is not true, but Zerg is the least played while terran is the most played.
You’re going to have a really hard time defending this claim.
The proportion of Protoss is Higher in master (28.76%) than in diamond (25.73%), so it’s not false. Of course the part where Protoss is so easy they go right into master league is a provocative joke ^^.
If we talk more seriously, there are two pics : one in silver-gold, and the other one in GM, and one valley diamond league :
OP is probably experiencing the fact he comes closer to diamond league so he gets less Protoss that he used to play in gold/platium.
Hyperbole. Terran is:
1 most played race
2 GREATLY overrepresented at the lower levels
3 heavily underrepresented at the GM level
4 tends to slope downwards in representation as ranks increase, but not uniformly.
Any level of racial misrepresentation under Grand Masters can be due to the player not having enough skill. This is because if they were simply better at the game then they would be able to get into GM before racial balance becomes a problem.
IN GM right now globally protoss represent 36.77% of the player base with Terran at 30.66% and Zerg at 31.04%. If Starcraft was perfectly balance one would see an even distribution of 33.3% per race in GM. Protoss is actually over represented at the highest levels.
Overall (across all leagues). Terran is 34.37%, Zerg is 28.19% and Protoss is 29.19% so despite only 29% of the entire player base choosing to play protoss, 36% of the Grandmasters are protoss. If anything these statistics show how under-powered terran are. (I’m a zerg btw)
“Stop lying Bourne you are becoming a meme” - that’s another one but of the same type, Master apologist.
Protoss hits a wall when they reach higher M and GM where Terran know how to play. Never mind that if a terran needs say 1000 hours protoss needs 700 hours to be on the same level, the point is once they are there, only at such levels Protoss sees difficulty. Especially if they cannoned their way to those ranges of mmr.
Probably because a lot of protoss cheese like proxy SB’s, proxy overcharge, cannon rushes, tempest rushes, DT rushes, Oracle rushes (Neeb’s WCS year of patch wins), blink stalkers got killed so now P really have to L2p and realize they DIDNT LEARN THE GAME like that and now cant reach higher lul. Has is a good example when he tries to beat other pro players with his lesser macro (that only now he’s trying to make as strong as other players). Now apply that logic to ladder where things look uglier. Why we criticize Protoss and call it ez you say?
