Unpopular Opinion: Hallucination

Hallucinations should not have normal sight range. Instead, they should have sight similar to the old Adepts’ Shade (range 2). They only need enough vision to be able to be maneuvered, like Adepts’ Shade.

It makes no sense that a fake unit would be able to provide scouting information.

I have no beef with the balance aspect of it. I have been watching BeastyQT’s Mass Sentry to GM series and just noticed that Hallucination being used for scouting and having normal vision is stupid and illogical.

LOL, just when POS whine/btc*-terrans were supposed to have hit rock-bottom in their disgusting whine…emerges one that surpasses them all…

One is waiting to hear whine about Phoenix/Storm/Disruptor…and this POS complains about…hallu.

P.S. Aurioch’s sarcasm’detector will crash and burn. Goba Corp will offer to Aurioch a new sarcasm-detector that is EMP-proofed with Solarite Shielding…

Hallucination is OP and make Terran unplayable. No way around it. Facts are facts.

So, a unit which

  • costs 75 energy
  • has timed life
  • deals no damage
  • has no armor nor shield armor
  • takes double damage
  • cannot use abilities
  • has lowest attack priority when detected

is OP?

Well played. You managed to crash my sarcasm detector.

I think you are the first person to say PvT is unplayable because of the Hallucination. Did you forget Terran has scans? Guess that makes Terran mega OP. Facts are facts.

Well, they can win games. Even pro games.

Scouting OP. In fact players should have to be blindfolded for the first 15 minutes of the game.

so the fact, that terran can scout any place on the map for 50 (even not 75) energy and you cant do anything about it or stop it somehow is okay, but a unit, which has to reach enemy base and fly around it, which cost even more energy is op, okay tell us more about imbalance

Only based on the scouting information they provide, or if the opponent just quits because he legitimately thinks he doesn’t stand a chance (this actually happened in a tournament back in WOL).
Hallucinations are fine.

Of course hallucinations are OP.

With the touch of a button, a Protoss player can make you think he has a zillion void rays and make you rage quit.

TL;DR
I miss IdrA’s salt

First warp prism. Then phoenix. Then warpgate. NOW HALLUCINATION. Yikes.

It’s gonna be pylons and archons next

Edit: And ht damage is too high

I really don’t understand the logic the OP is following. Hallucination is fine as is.

When I play protoss, I have to use hallucination. If I just rely on observers for everything, it’s not the best way to scout.

I actually think observers are too good for scouting non-base locations, but terrible at scouting in base due to ravens, missle turrets, and being visible by the naked eye.

I actually get frustrated the most with zerg in terms of scouting in base.

Terran I sometimes waste a scan and have a good idea whats happening based on my harass methods.

Long story short; protoss needs hallucination to scout IN-BASE, because observers kind of suck at that, but observers are too good at scouting army pathways.

It’s almost like Terran has scan??? So the Protoss is unable to hide composition while the Terran can Turtle with turrets preventing the Protoss to scout deep into the base???
Wow. I wonder why?
