Unit inflation is damaging sc2

There is little strategy involved in this game.

Either units need to be made more expensive or economy tuned down.

Right now the best strategy is to make units faster and suicide them into the mineral line preferably.

It happens but at the pro level effort is put into saving those units and they don’t dive into suicidal positions where nothing could get done. Misreads happen of course but honestly the timing and scouting involved to setting up most runbys at that level are just part of a larger game plan. That is by definition strategy.

In RTS mechanics will always come first due to the “real-time” part of it. You could be a strategic genius but if you take 10 minutes to think of and execute a strategic plan the player that has spent their time getting substantial material leads it doesn’t matter. Strategy becomes important once mechanics have been mastered; we see the strategy part in pro level tournies quite often. The decision of proxy placement, followups to cheeses, specific build orders for opponents on certain maps…
If you want just strategy, or something that substantially favors it, you’re better off with turnbased.

This is the general strategy of most wars. Have more bodies.
