with them coming out with a shooter turn an rts into a shooter is bs so whats the point of playing sc2 on this bs patch
There’s expected to be a new patch after the tournament.
To show them that we want to play an RTS; not some Stupid Shooter?
Nothing is stupid - cupid, I just explained in another thread what I understand and how great the game will be Deus Ex like, with Virtual Reality and Pay to Play basis on modern PlayStations.
So you announce a new StarCraft game, but it’s a shooter? What about StarCraft III — the game the RTS community has actually been waiting for?
StarCraft is an RTS franchise at its core. A shooter can be a cool spin-off, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of the RTS that built this community.
And what about StarCraft II and the patch situation we’ve been dealing with since June?
The current state of SC2 has been a major concern for players. The patch has caused significant frustration, and we’ve seen players and tournament organizers turning to community balance mods because they feel the official ladder isn’t providing the experience they want.
When tournaments are increasingly being played on a community balance mod instead of the actual SC2 ladder, that should be a huge warning sign.
What is Blizzard’s plan to address this?
Are we getting another balance update? Is the current patch going to be fixed? Is there going to be better support for the competitive ladder? And, most importantly, is StarCraft III RTS actually being considered?
The StarCraft community has been waiting a long time for a true RTS sequel. We want the factions, the strategy, the competitive ladder, the campaigns, and the gameplay that made StarCraft what it is.
I really hope Blizzard addresses these issues this week and gives the SC2 community some answers.
We don’t just want StarCraft to return. We want StarCraft the RTS to return.
You keep asking this question.
Everyone wants their favorite games to go on forever. However, what gets made is determined by where the money is.
And seeing there’s talks with an outside studio to make a sequel, it’s somewhat possible there will be one.
By that logic if no dignity is left, might as well turn into a cheap mobile games like all stationed in Singapore, China and the region. Sells really well, no need for badass graphics, stories, just purchasable packets to grow. In the name of money, Blizz should go this way.
They can make DV so shortly after D IV, I was surprised why the need a newer diablo game so soon, yet they couldn’t make a new RTS.
That’s big usiness unfortunately. Dignity isn’t even in their dictionary.
It was originally meant to be an expac for D4. But when the design philosophy changed, they decided to build it separately from D4 so that it was free of the contraints of D4.
But you just replied to why: where the money is. The RPGs (Diablo), shooters (Overwatch) and MMOs (WoW) are where the money is. RTSs have been fading for quite some time.
if they cant make an rts then why keep the game if they cant update it and make the community happy but they made wc3 reforge thats an rts???
Jesus, DiseaseX, I just said why in your other thread.
You’re either so mad that you’re deluding youself, or you’re trolling.
So, read my other reply, or don’t. But repeating the same things over and over isn’t going the change the answer.
and it stimpyxxx is my name sir you can see it on the chat
It’s hard not to when the one ignores the answers and just keeps repeating the same thing over and over.
i think you are having a hard time right now maybe stop posting if you dont want answer do you even play sc2 ? I think not cant find you on pulse so how you gonna answer questions on sc2 if you dont even play the game you know nothing back
RTS has not been fading for some time.
Sins of a Solar Empire 1 (may be 2018 I forget but VERY successful). They made plenty of money and also made a SoSE 2 which I think came out about 9 months ago. (Again its very successful and available on steam).
The community of Starcraft 2 should give this game a try. They all might just be surprised how much they love it. I was surprised myself because it its space and its space battles. But my oh my is this game amazing.
Tempest Rising is another recently released rts game with major success.
Blizzard does not have their eyes in enough places to understand what they already missed out on. There was money to be had and now others have done it.
I mean why Stormgate failed is this- poor management and overconfidence how they will succeed, F2P and not getting money while being an indie studio. Misleading and messing up hardly their presentation, presenting badly the game in EA that pushed players away - mechanics particularly pathing was not good and pro players noticed it.
The point of MS/Blizz AAA, giant as MS is that they should afford to have 1 RTS game even if it doesn’t give them enough when everything else gives them money. Was what Blizzard did so far, they’ve WOW, Diablo is becoming more and more seasonal game, OW dunno don’t follow, could have made 1 game for the genre and not just for the money, that’s my critic.
Tempest is just some C&C Clone for their fans nothing to do with Blizzard style RTS of micro macro games. SG was like that but it failed.
ZeroSpace is played by pros but with very little expectations to become the next big SC, still didn’t get the early blow SG got.
See? That’s how I know you’re trolling. I did answer. You just are ignoring it. We’re done.
That is not what you said though. You said RTS.
Now you are saying “blizzard style rts”
The point has been made. RTS is not fading people enjoy it and other have made money on it while blizzard dropped the ball.
yep and that why im writing them a letter since that dont read the forms
Agree that Blizzard want to drop the ball on it completely and I don’t like it.
Yes RTS can be made enjoyable and attract people if dumbed down. But SC2 made people scared to play any RTS, it’s still the most demanding and punishing.
I don’t have a problem with the difficulty in macro micro, I’ve been competitive.
I don’t mind if they made a more accessible RTS but still to have the elements of Blizz style RTS - you don’t like much micro macro but that’s the beauty not some tactical mass army game like total war. I do rely on AAA to make the next big RTS because this is what happens when indie tries - all these games Battle Aces, Scouring, Tempest Rising, Stormgate even ZeroSpace may fail or failed without the resource of AAA,
I have seen this repeated again and again and again… If the community was waiting for this without any indication (not hearsay and wishful thinking, but any reliable source, official talk), then the community is just a crowd of morons who think that repeating a lie continuously, it will magically become true. The End.
