My problem is that I cannot log in to the US server with the editor (which also means I cannot publish the MOD I created to the US server).
why would a map editing program, need a region…
I think your smoking something there bud. Map editor doesnt require a region, its just a program to make maps. Not a thing to play sc2 on from a region, so no need for regions. Use your head dude.
Because it upload the maps, and do it separately for each server (US, EU, others…)
If you don’t know how SC2 work at all, please don’t comment.
really, cause when i open map editor, theres nothing stating anything about any option whatsoever to select a region. secondly, you dont need the internet connection to even open map editor. cause again its a program, and the maps are saved on your pc, where all maps are saved.
so if you dont know how things work in sc2 maybe please dont comment.
The StarCraft 2 Editor does not require a continuous internet connection to function, but it does require an internet connection to access certain features and services. Specifically, the editor requires an internet connection to access the map publishing system, which allows users to share their custom maps with other players.
When a user creates a custom map in the StarCraft 2 Editor, they have the option to publish the map to the Battle.net server. This allows other players to easily download and play the map. However, in order to publish a map, the user must have an active internet connection so that the map can be uploaded to the Battle.net server.
In addition to allowing users to publish maps, the StarCraft 2 Editor also allows users to download and play custom maps created by other players. In order to access these maps, the user must have an internet connection to connect to the Battle.net server and download the maps.
When you publish a custom map in StarCraft 2, you will need to publish it on each region individually if you want the map to be available to players in multiple regions. The publishing process involves several steps, which I will outline below:
- In the StarCraft 2 Editor, click on the “File” menu and select “Publish Map…”
- In the “Publish Map” dialog box, select the map you want to publish from the list of maps on the left side of the screen.
- Next, you will need to select the region(s) where you want to publish the map. You can select one or more regions by clicking on the checkboxes next to each region name. If you want to publish the map on all regions, you can click on the “All” checkbox.
- Once you have selected the region(s), you will need to enter some basic information about the map, such as the map name, description, and author name. You can also select a category for the map and specify any other relevant details.
- Finally, you will need to click on the “Publish” button to upload the map to the selected region(s). This may take some time depending on the size of the map and the speed of your internet connection.
Once the map has been published, it will be available for other players to download and play in the selected region(s). If you want the map to be available in multiple regions, you will need to repeat this process for each region where you want to publish the map.
In summary, the publishing process for custom maps in StarCraft 2 involves selecting the map, choosing the region(s) where you want to publish it, entering some basic information about the map, and clicking on the “Publish” button. If you want the map to be available in multiple regions, you will need to repeat this process for each region individually.

I came to say pretty much the same thing as Talv. There is very much a login and region selection in the editor. Logins also allow access to mods that otherwise are locked out. Nice to see a resident loud mouth pwned
Excellent advice for the ONLY one in this thread who doesn’t know how things work.
Verily, I do agree that is in fact satisfying to see someone who doesn’t know what they are talking about get shown the door
If Talv hadn’t stepped in, I would’ve explained it myself. In Talv we trust \o/
Anyways, regarding the ShenXiya’s inability to login to the US region, it could be based on where you live. I remember when the CN server existed, I as a NA player could not log into the CN region. I don’t know any fix for that, but my guess would be a VPN?
Either way, best of luck to you with publishing your mod :>
Now I can log in to the US region. I live in China and because our CN server is no longer available, I came to the US server. We need to use a VPN accelerator to log in to the US server. I guess it may be a problem with the VPN accelerator node
