It is 2021, why is it that i can run games from 2000 in ultrawide and not SC2?
Hell, even remasters of games from the 90’s have ultrawide support.
Does anyone have a workaround? I just want to play singleplayer and maybe co-op for god’s sake.

Too bad Blizzard gonna convince us 21:9 is unfair to 16:9 players. But, they did not restrict other accessories such as 240hz monitor, mechanical keyboard, a gaming mouse.
Now a day, even to most competitive MOBA games are supported ultrawide. Does the extra vision provide so much benefit? Why I did not see any E-sport player using it?
I mean Blizzard, if you bother to remove 21:9 completely from the game, why don’t you just make 16:9 also supported ultrawide? So that every player gets to choose the preferred way to play?
now 2022 still with no responce of support , hopefully microsoft tries at it at least
Yeah, hope they hire more talented people for better decision-making.
Ohhhhh ultraWIDE !
… I thought this was the UltraLisk support group < wicked grin >
Actually there was a dev response a few years back when they intentionally patched the game to prevent all 3rd party tools from overriding resolution limits which allowed sc2 to be played in UW. The game is designed around actively preventing UW. They will never support it. This isn’t a missed feature, or a lapse in support; it’s an intentional design decision that will never be reverted unless SC2: Remastered is made.
But allowing maphacks and production hacks… very wise of them
How to tell me you understand nothing about software without telling me you understand nothing about software:
No one was/is “allowing” hacks; the reality is it’s simply not possible to stop hackers from hacking without moving the entire game to server side and only allowing access to the assets the game needs to display locally; this would require a full rewrite of the game which is well beyond EoS (End of Service) support (which is basically where SC2 is now). Even without patches changing how the code is loading into memory, the amount of actual hackers on SC2 is very low. In years of playing 1v1 I’ve run into 2 confirmed hackers. The majority of the time these “hackers” people complain about are players that scout or don’t miss their macro cycles. If you don’t scout and/or you regularly miss production cycles, relative competency can look like hacks.
It was a joke, I’ve been playing this game since release and have only ran into a handful of hackers.
