Hi everyone,
I would like to know if some of you guys tend to find troll players as Tychus in your coop games, as yesterdayfound one guy and today another different player with the same mechanic (Tychus spawns and begins attacking my workers).
Wow, that’s annoying. I haven’t met anybody who destroys your units for a long time.
Only once but definitely annoying.
It’s mostly just a waste of loading time. Guess some people just didn’t get held as a baby lol.
From the start for no reason - never.
When they were frustrated by something - happened couple times for several years of playing.
Sometimes when the mission is basically over I will have one of my units try to fight one of my ally’s units, a reaper vs a marine or Fenix vs Dehaka or something. but never had someone flat out teamkill, thus far
I’m surprised. I’ve met plenty of bad players in co-op, but only once out of hundreds of games have I come across someone that outright kills your workers.
I think there’s like some known-dude (I can’t recall his name anymore) who does this to everyone. Literally just joins to do that. I remember way way way back, when that 1 time it happened to me, I posted in the discord, and people were telling me about it. Apparently, this guy’s match history is nothing but losses. Although, I’m not sure OP’s experience included this dude at all.
That’s an impressive level of dedication to his craft. Hours of his day spent wasting seconds of someone else’s.
Right? Then again, it’s just what I heard, can’t really confirm it… except that I do remember looking at his match history, which definitely was exactly that.
I guess some really are like that… c’est la vie… ish lol.
In my case I play just normal/hard as Nova, which i have at level +50, so I don’t think it’s because the other player think I’m using him/her to level up.
In both situations I countered the same way placing shields just in my units range and killing both Tychus and Joey’s bar with Nova and/or elite marines, once it happened, the other player left the game.
Anyway, it makes me sad seeing people with such pityful life to enjoy messing up with other people.
I feel the same. Luckily it’s not often this happens.
We can always quit and remake, taking entirely an extra 30sec.
But that’s just people for you. While we talk about this, there are also literally people complaining about people leaving a game and it’s inconvenienced them for having to take that same 30sec to remake. People be people lol
I know the easiest thing to do is quitting and look for another game, but I wanted to give these trolls some fight to not make them that easy messing up with people.
One day I was in a party playing with a friend, he was vorazun. First thing he did was to put a dark pylon by the enemy base and recall all my workers there, twice lol obviously a meme but I was slightly salty, not gonna lie
There is also a neat trick for Nova in Vermillion Problem where you can kidnap all your ally’s army with Griffin and dump them all in the Lava
Your partner will think you the coolest guy in the whole world and give all his respects. Go for it!
Hahah that’s a good one. Next time we party up I’ll do that to him
you can also theoretically strand a ground army on the north island of temple mission
LOL, who are you people?
Calm down there satan(s).
I don’t play as often as some here, but I’ve never had someone attack my units on purpose. I’ve gotten straight up ****holes, but luckily, they’re quite the exception than the norm.
I’ve attacked my ally’s building before in a frantic, DoN Mutation. As Artanis, I moved Goons into Tychus’ base to defend it by A-moving, but accidently clicked on his Joeray’s Bar instead. By the time I caught on, the building was down to 1/3 hp. I pinged him and messaged that he needs to repair that.
In another forum, I introduced someone to Sc2 Coop. This person was excited because he used to love playing Comp Stomps in BW, and then backstabbing all of his allies. I told him that’s not the point of Coop, and there’s no friendly fire (can’t unally either) besides explicitly clicking and attacking friendly/ally units. He got excited because at least he still has a way to attack his ally’s units, and he can always make buildings to block him in.
Dunno what ever came out of that. I’d imagine he’d get bored, but with people as mentioned in the OP, ya never know. I guess it’s not THAT inconceivable since even within the realm of “valid play”, we have so many ways “of fun”.
For example, one person may just want to “speed level up”
For another, if a map takes longer than 15 minutes, then it’s no longer fun
Another, they like maps that last more than 20 minutes to fully ramp up
Some prefer using Tychus and steamrolling everything
A CO where they can mass units easily and A-move them to victory
Others want a higher skill floor.
Preferences in COs, preferences in Missions
Hate Mutators vs. love 'em
etc.
Can’t say we aren’t diverse
Yeah definitely man.
Personally I’ve never understood the enjoyment of prolonged games in the coop setting. I understood the longer games as only a transition from inexperience to being experienced. Moreover, there are literally a ton of arcade maps out there, with far better abilities/graphics/spells and enemies to faceroll, than what limited range coop maps provide. Despite that, I know that’s how others enjoy things. Weird way to enjoy it from my perspective (since u can enjoy a better exact thing literally a few more clicks away in another tab, but hey lol two each their own).
Never in my life really would I imagine a person would get so upset about someone else’s way to enjoy something that they would:
- Attack their ally straight up (like original post).
- Kill ally units midway or near end-victory (apparently this is “fun”).
- Complain about it like it’s the end of the world on here.
Yet, being on the forum for so long, these topics come up way too often. It makes me question either “how sheltered maybe these people are from irl” or “how unloved and alone they are irl”. It’s my way of rationalizing it all I guess lol.
use the call down to respawn Tychus
