TSL#5 Qualifying Stats

TSL #5 Just finished. I won’t post any spoilers for those who haven’t seen it. but since qualifying stats are what forum terrans have decided to base balance design on. Here they are:

9 Terran qualified out of a possible 24 spots! Compared to 7 Toss and 8 Zerg! We all know that at least 14 Terran should have qualified, definitely IMBA!

7 Terran in RO16, 3 toss and 3 Zerg.

6 Terran in RO12, 3 Toss and 3 Zerg.

PvT winrate was at 50.13% (186-185) during qualifiers, and 50.35% (213-210) during the main event. Definitely IMBA!

With these stats its clear that Toss is 100% OP in PvT!!!

memeing or not, it is pretty interesting to see near perfect balance in a tournament

pssssst. the tcf dont wanna hear facts, that dont suit in their agenda.

but well, some other interesting (spoilerfree) facts:

ro8: 3 z 3 t 2 p
ro6 2 z 2 t 2 p
ro4 1 z 1 t 2 p
ro3 1 z 1 t 1 p

thats as balanced as it can be. but hey, lets nerf zerg and toss and buff terran for whatever reason xD

How to you explain going from 6 terran in the RO12, to 3 in the RO8 though???

Sounds like a “Batz if he were Terran” kind of argument

in ro8, we had one tvt mirror, so one terran HAD to fall.
big gabe has psychological problems against toss for years now. so it was obvious, that he would most likely lose to zest. gabe is a good player, but is always limited by his mental state in tournaments.

so two losses for terran were HIGHLY expected (or guaranteed in the mirror). clem vs reynor could have gone either way. clem beat reynor 4-2 in the end of april. so it seems that reynor was simply better prepared.

You can always make that same argument in the other direction, though. That’s why I hate when people cherry picking individual tournaments where _____ race does well or poorly.

And yet, thats the exact same thing terrans do, when they try to justify, why terran did so good in gsl s1.

Ive been saying for years now, that you cant just look at the winner of a tournament. That you have to look at the distribution in the ro8 f.e. and guess what, most of the time, we have a 3/3/2 distribution.

Another balance thread. Hooray. Not let us not forget that balance at the pro level is different that balance on the ladder.

With that being said. According to these recent numbers the game seems completely balance BASED ON PRO PLAY ONLY.

No other changes need to be made move along guys nothing to see here

So I guess we never needed that patch that buffs Terran and nerfs Zerg after all!

And yet you still whine about PvT being “unwinable” for some reason.

Funny I thought pros played the same game as us. I didn’t realize there were separate balance patches for pros and laddef

Kiwi, you don’t get it.
Terran’s eco is wayyyy behind Protoss!
Protoss can just go print chargelot and beat Terran because of their superior economy, didn’t you know that?

Oh duh how could I forget?! Also I guess we need to balance the game based off the diamond terran ladder experience, since the game is only balanced at pro play

In a thread created by P/Z cry?? So if a thread is QQ by Z/P it is not cry. If by T it is cry. How to count T whiners:

3 threads for Z/P whiners - dont count
3 threads for T winers- count

T whiners : Z/P whiners 3:0

Clearly you don’t know the point of this thread then

Reynor managed to take 2 games at Innovation while Reynor playing terribly badly.
Only because zerg is ez pz and op race actually.

reynor also lost to heromarine, so what does that proof?
