Tribute to Soul Of Sky (sOs)

Starcraft II yesterday lost one of his most famous, original and innovative players since sOs retired. sOs won the world championship starcraft II twice, which makes him the record holder, a title which he shares with Rogue.

The 2 time world champion will turn 28 next month and unfortunately military service is waiting. The official reason he gave for his retirement was that his hands doesn’t do what he wants them to do anymore.

I could add a ton of great replays/ vods/ finals/ builds/ matches but I decided to post this link to show what sort of fabulous person he really was.

Thanks Kim Yu-Jin for being an awesome person, bringing joy, inspiration and skill to the sc II-community. We will miss you.

Godspeed.

sOS was always a pleasure to watch. I’ll never forget him killing bunny in GSL with a nexus in bunny’s base which he used to build a probe → pylon → DTs.

Amazing stuff.

Did a tribute get posted for Byul, the highest ranking player during hots, when he retired directly citing the insanity of skytoss imba? Nope. Funny how that works.

By the way, Byul is back from retirement.

nevermind the balance, sOs is probably the most entertaining player to play sc2. He made protoss look fun and interesting. He was by far my favourite protoss player. Hope he can return one day.

Imagine how absolutely ballistic SC2 normies would go if Zerg were using hatcheries to teleport broodlords into the mains of Protoss players in the early game. APEtoss can literally throw crap at the wall to see what sticks because 99% of it does. You could bang a keyboard on the wall and win. If a zerg could proxy spores and brood rush a 1 base APEtoss, there would be riots on the streets but proxy void shield battery is just another day in the life of APEtoss.

It’s not very creative to be a build-smith when virtually all builds lead to victory. There is basically no restrictions on what Protoss can do so you can 1 base allin if you want to or you can mass up to 200/200 carriers, a-click and win.

that would legit be incredible and i would applaud it. Anything that isnt meta garbage copy paste build is a lot more entertaining to me. yeah i know and thats why im not saying he is insanely good, im just saying he does creative funny and entertaining stuff. But legit man, up your trolling game, you’re kinda slacking now.

Imagine how miserable you must be to post this kind of trash in a tribute thread. Honestly can’t you muster the self control to not spam your unhinged crying in a single thread? You spend your entire life having conversations with all your alt accounts here, you can’t refrain just once?

Terran is OP boss that’s blizzard’s fault not mine. You want to do a tribute? Do a tribute to this once great but definitely very dead game that pro’s are fleeing like it’s the plague. Pro’s are dropping like flies but let’s not talk about why the pro scene is in open free-fall that’s disrespectful.

A man dies on the titanic but if you mention the boat in the eulogy there’s gonna be a riot. :fire: :fire: :fire:

Pity:(. He did seem to me a very unique player, with his own style. Thanks for the fun sOs:)

sOs is a nice guy I was watching the scene a lot more actively when he became WCS champion twice but he is also one-trick… because the race is 1 trick much better than Has or any other cheeser as he is top in that but still. He can’t one trick now while being rusty and maybe not playing hard enough… something protoss players in general do/do not do. So he found no future and retired.
