Yes I thought of posting this in the campaign section but I noticed that for every 2-days of posts made on co-op, there are 20-days worth of posts to match them. I.E. it isn’t very active there. And SC is SC so if the mods mind it they can move it but I’m sure they understand my reasoning.
I need aid in the form of visual references or vital tips/hints for completing Nova’s Covert Ops. The Nova Banner is one of my favs and I was actually using it for a full year until some Blizzard patch knocked it out of my unlocked list and Support told me that I have to do all the achievements all over again… ugh. Upon doing so I got down to 5 achievements slowly but surely:
Friendly Competition, Glutton for Punishment, Catch Me if You Can, One Woman Army, and Bringing Down the Big Guns - found under Achievements Tab > Mission Packs > Nova Covert Ops.
Yes I tried following “YouTube videos” for them but they didn’t really pan out for me. I am far from a competitive RTS player and I don’t play, pretend to be good. Friendly Competition is annoying me the most. I’m not sure which units I should be massing before the Tal’darim forces move in to destroy my base. And if the start isn’t proper, the save files don’t do squat for me.
I’m not sure how or why my Nova banner was taken down by Blizzards patches, but this process of do it all again is nothing short of idiotic. Constantly this company is messing up stuff in their game and their go-to strategy is “address it when its time comes”.
All ranting aside, I welcome any detailed advice.
Go over the Campaign Section because the Church of Mengsk is active and will help you. Trust me on this one.

There are a couple general things you could do to help you: dropping difficulty level, having marines your primary unit, and lots of saves/reloads.
Friendly Competition is easy enough, just make marines.
Glutton for Punishment just turtle (two chokes to defend) and make a bunch of nuke silos. If you can get Nova near the main objective you can slowly nuke your way in.
Catch Me If You Can you’ll have to do a youtube video and just a lot of save/reloads.
One Woman Army you probably want Nova killing the zealots/stalkers that come down the top right lanes as much as possible. You can always just build a bunch of nuke silos as well so she can permanently lock down a lane with nukes.
Bringing Down The Big Guns you can just depot wall the center Gorgon and the Xanthos will get stuck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5KI0MhJWHA&t=10m12s

Don’t try Brutal and play on Hard.
Friendly competition - make a bunch of liberators and before any Taldarim units arrive at you base evacuate some of flying buildings. Don’t wait too much before starting each new extractor.
Catch Me If You Can - just find video on Youtube and make the same things.
One Woman Army - bunch of Nukes and fire them all over the place. At some point stop supporting Defenders of Mankind, so Protoss will break them and come to your base where you can keep nuking them in 1 place, but don’t forget to have units to support you so you don’t lose Nova.
Bringing Down The Big Guns - depot trick was fixed, so you just need to push into enemy base quickly. To get more time you can sacrifice all Gorgons, but 1. Army composition to build - Goliafs, I think.

Just cleared Friendly Competition barely. The Liberator tip helped, built 14 of them and they controlled a lot of influx of units. Right as I completed the mission a rogue stalker came out of nowhere and my liberator shot it, but thankfully it didn’t count, lmao.
YouTube is your best friend.
YouTube failed me on Friendly Competition with it’s Marine suggestion. che’s advice = panned out on the first try. Why go to youtube where people play pretend as opposed to the source.
Anyway, Just One Woman Army and Bringing Down the Big Guns left to go.
Update: Aaaand done, there. Now lets see how long till Blizzard deletes it off my account again. Thanks for the hints guys

So you’re asking help for something you’ve already done? I assume you got nova banner from the bug that gave campaign completionist rewards after 1 achievement. Isn’t it fair you have to actually earn it?
For “Bringing Down The Big Guns” (if I remember correctly this is the achievement to destroy the Xanthos before its 3rd activation), there is a way to cheese the mission by rushing battlecruisers and tactical jump them behind the Xanthos area. LilArrin has a video of him doing said cheese, you can check it out on YouTube.
For “One Woman Army”: Equip Nova with the Apollo Reactor, Plasma Rifle and Stim Infusion. Use her to hold one single lane solo, should get you the needed amount of kills at the end. Make more ghost academies to nuke attack waves if needed.
I must admit with others, there was really a bug and many have this banner (which is only reward for those who complete all achievements). I am proud of having all from HoTS and LoTV. It wasn´t easy and mate´s with the banner in co-op while game starting, always give me a pleasure for knowing a good teammate. So, earn it and be among those pro players ;))
