There are tons of people out there that don’t know about toxic nests doubling biomass (and some people who do know, but don’t give a damn), and that makes collecting first 200 biomass such a pain on any map. But even with a perfect ally, who lures enemy to nests or at least doesn’t clear them, I have never managed to get first brutalisk until like 7 minute mark.
I won’t even whine about QoL problems, like manual deactivation of viper transition to leviathans, or lack of heal when all queens turn into brutalisks. It’s just a plain fact, that on any map with any ally, even a good one and willing to help, you cannot get even 6 evolutions in reasonable time, and by that I mean that your ally either clears the map by then, or artificially keeps himself from doing that. Yes, you can get a lot of evos on long maps (my best is 31 on MO), but on short maps P3 Abathur seems utterly useless. You can get a usual army with Abathur, instead of maxing out on evos, but then what’s the point of the prestige? I got pretty good results with this strat, but had only like 4 brutalisks, which means, that this prestige is a plain nerf.
I tried using deep tunneling swarm hosts to get to biomass clusters faster, and it works better than sending other units to collect, but the plain quantity of biomass is limiting your progress, as well as the fact that evos without support of queens are not as tanky as one might think.
I would love to be wrong. Please explain to me what am I doing wrong and how to get 5-6 brutalisk before Raynor maxes out on infantry and clears the map.
Check Arrin’s video about toxic nest luring Starcraft LotV Co-op - Abathur All Toxic Nest Luring Sequences - YouTube Now you don’t have to do the exact things as that speedrunner (I sure can’t), but 7 mins is still way too late to get 200 biomass. You should be having that amount up around 4 mins the very least.
At any rate, on short maps you are just kicking yourself in the leg if you use it. It might have some meme or fun value for longer maps but even then I would never use it cause your early game is really messed up.
Well, can’t disagree with that, the problem with this prestige is how tricky is to get your first Brutalisk, then make it cost effective for more Brutas, not worth the trouble unless you’re playing long maps like Malwarefare, Temple of the Past, Mist Opportunities.
abby p3 is only good for massing levi, this week mutation is pretty good for that strat coz brutalisk isn’t good at damaging jumping enemies. I got 7 levi when game ended with a tychus ally.
Sky waves (especially Sky Terrans) are real pain.
Make Spore Crawlers and Roaches in the beginning so viking can land on the ground and crawlers to snipe banshees.
Start using Queens instead of Roaches.
Single base is enough for Abathur P3 IMO because the most important resources are the biomass not resources, you should more very actively to get them as much as possible.
On the video you linked Arrin’s had 200 biomass between 3:10 and 4mn (for the few segments I watched with 4 mns on miner evac) but a lot of essence farming was done thanks to the first brutalisk. He lured easy targets with spore and once the 100 biomass he started luring harder camps with brutalisk.
Are you sure even he could get 200 biomass in 4 minutes with P3 and full masteries?
At least Abathur can receive some help on his quest to overpoweredness.
Poor Zeratul P2, nothing can ever help/allow him to try and go for level 100 upgrade
No please NO!!! No late game buff for zeratul P2 they can be toxic enough as it is.
I got paired with a Zeratul P2 on Mist Opportunity and for the two last waves he had a dropship at each spawn location loaded with immos and disruptors. I had Fenix but even just the time to call Arbiter and recall there was nothing left. And even when they spawned where I was, my army just could not vaporize a wave under 2s like his did so he just happily unloaded, waited 1s that everything die then reloaded. Rince and repeat.
Got first one on 5:30 Mist Opportunities. First bot was defended by toxic nests (I sacked quick construction and grades for more nests mastery, and chose double biomass chance like you said). Not as helpless as it was before, but still, my Alarak P3 ally was already clearing their base while I walked around collecting biomass for my 4-th brutalisk. In the end I killed all final waves, and got 41 evolutions (22/19), but the early game is just ruined. One brutalisk is not stable enough, and losing it sends you to stone age, if biomass isn’t recovered. What is the point of getting dozens of brutalisks by the end of longest map anyway? His army was the toughest among all commanders without this prestige stuff.
Lone Wolf Tychus can do that with 1 grenade. And with 3 storms. And he still has 3 outlaws left. Zagara can do it too with banes and scourges patrolling each spawn location. Mengsks can use PoA at 3 stars with tripple yamatos which pretty much deletes a wave… and if not, just shoot 2 or 3… cause you can have 6 or more of those.
That playstyle has not much to do with zeratul or even his p2… rather either someone trying to annoy people, or someone who just has to have more kills. I sometimes feel like that. I don’t hunt for kills… just trying to play well. I don’t mean to be rude… it just happens. Especially playing lone wolf… if you are active with just 2 outlaws - say tychus and sirius - you have half the map cleared by the time your average ally has an army ready.
If someone like that zeratul annoys you again, next time, just kill his void arrays. Sometimes people need some tough love in order to grow… and if you want to be REALLY evil, destroy all void arrays at the same time, before he can unload. When the last void array dies, so do all units inside.
Why is this a bad thing? Cause you feel useless once he gets to that point? That 20 brutalisk aba sucked all game long, with an inferior army, gathering twice as much biomass that is half as effective and only late game he gets to feel a little bit OP for maybe 3 minutes of the game… just let him. If you played well, you will lead in every scoreboard statistic.
To be fair it is really hard to get UE with P3 especially in early stage (if you get the sky compo that will get even harder) and you do need lot of help from your allies (almost whole dependently, unless your skill is good enough).
However in Vanilla you can get UE safely (at least safe enough to start Abathur death ball).
With P3, UE forming is less stable and really slow to form and UE are Abathur’s key to army, by the time enough UE (like 9~10) are made where you think they are strong a good amount of time already passed (15 minute~ish, really depends) and it is kind of probable you made it that much.
Also more importantly I am not sure if this prestige is useful in mutations (correct me if I’m wrong).
IMO, prestige isn’t much fun if it is too tedious make.
I would prefer decreasing the Biomass to 150 or revert 100 Biomass but add resource costs; Brutalisks costs 500/300 and Leviathan costs 400/400 (maybe the costs can be tweaked maybe by half)?
I don’t know, I’ve never seen anyone delete all waves that fast.
I mean sure Zagara can handle one wave very fast but at least she has to move her units (fast but not instant) to handle the other waves.
Tychus Lone Wolf is far from that good especially very late game on MO. He cleans up early very well but does not delete waves that fast late game.
Maybe Mensgk? But honestly never seen one go BCs yet (and don’t see them much at all except on RtK).
I don’t mind that. What was annoying there is that he was waiting with obs the first red spot to appear to insta teleport and delete wave in a couple of seconds (mass disruptors with plenty artifacts hit hard and immo for AOE air) including at spots close to where I was waiting at (at the top right for last wave between the two spawn camps).
I really hesitated to do that. Not all of them, I ain’t that evil yet, but the two at the spawns locations closest to me sure.
To be fair, it’s not really fun when there are not much enemy when your army of UE are ready (for any army really, you want some cartharsis).
P3 is doable… but slow, unstable and sometimes not worth the reward (well it is but lots of enemies/bases are gone by then), that is why lot of us aren’t fan of it.
Send 20 banelings and 20 scourges to each spawn location (or just banes / scourges depending on enemy comp). Thats 20 supply or 20% of her cap (even less with P2) per spawn location. In other words, you can cover 4 spawn locations at the same time if you like… and 20 supply is often overkill. That would be like 40 scourges against air waves or 40 banelings against ground.
Of course - F2 play goes ot the window… a tough pill to swallow if your a used F2 player like me.
Try it
From my experience if you have at least 3 outlaws recruited besides tychus and all upgrades, one grenade will kill almost every unit in its radius, only leaving stuff like capital ships and ultras (badly damaged). I think even immortals are 1-shot. Everything smaller is 100% dead though - tanks, libs, banshees, ravagers, corruptors, broodlords, stalkers, disruptors, voidrays… all vaporized. It’s so ridiculous…
And i don’t even use grenade damage mastery.
His wiki page says grenade does 75 + 50 upgrade. Lone wolf should give +200% with all outlaws - so 375 ? That would 1-shot even immortals and colossi. If you take the mastery you should get 487 ???..not enough for BCs, but enough for carriers.
They provide +1 range on all units in a huge area. I think getting at least 1 is mandatory in every game (except if you think you can’t reliably keep them alive vs scourges, yamatos, etc.)
