Tips Against Elite AI

So I played SC years ago and recently picked up SC 2.
I’ve been slogging through the AI melee matches, but decided I’d jump ahead to Elite AI and I’m getting my butt kicked.

The only way I found to to beat them is as Protoss with a cannon rush right outside their main base. Which makes for a bit of a boring game really.
So I decided I wouldn’t do that, but now I can just about survive one attack, irrespective of enemy race, with few of my own army left over, and 30 seconds to a minute later he’s hitting me just as hard and this time I can’t fight it off.

This is all within the first 10 minutes mind you.
It’s all I can do to keep my resources going and training units, Zealots, Adepts, Stalkers, Templars for Archons, Immortals, Void Rays, Carriers, etc.

I’m not sure if I’m just spreading my resources out too much having little overall effect, or if I’m screwing the pooch on production buildings as I like to have 3 of each.
Either way, I think I managed to survive a total of 14 minutes against AI in a recent game.

Now, from what I can tell, I’m not spending much time with unspent resources, my APM is dogpoop at +/- 30 APM, and my build order seems pretty standard; just know that I’ve not gone in and read complex strategies and build orders or anything like that.

My build order is generally:
1x Pylon asap
1x Gateway asap
1x Cybernetics Core asap
All the while I’m tryna build probes to farm for me.
What I’ll do is record a game and then post the url here, but as I’m stepping out just now that’ll have to wait.

Don’t know if it’s relevant but the map I’ve been playing is Blackpink.

Would appreciate some help. I mean, I’m not nearly expecting to be at the level of say, sOs or Scarlett, or any of those guys, but I’d like to beat Elite AI.
Would I be correct in thinking that for someone just starting out I might have a decent go on the ladders yet?

Check out vibelol on youtube. It can improve your gameplay overall, till you will smash the ai beyond belief.

Make a good defense of canons then rush air. Just voids will do. Don’t wait too much and try not to show the AI your army otherwise he will just focus on anti air and crush you. Also if you can expand a lot, the ai doesn’t really care about many expansions. And if he kills one just rebuild it instantly.

It’s actually kind of impressive that you can beat them with cannon rush. Elite AI tend to be very aggressive in pulling workers in dealing with cannon rushes, but winning with CR is more of a map-based playstyle when it comes to fighting AI.

You can actually get away with a lot of things vs. AI. If you want to macro and defend the first wave, I recommend fast expansion - but only if you can keep your build order clean (shouldn’t take a lot of APM if you stay at home). Basically, pylon - chronoboost after pylon finishes - nexus - gateway - gas - gas - pylon - cyber core. When the cyber core finishes, make a stalker and a robotics facility. Then when the robo bay finishes, chrono boost an immortal (make 2 more gates). Keep track of your opponent’s move out, because the moment you know when your opponent is attacking, drop 2 shield batteries at your natural. This is kind of a rough build order, so you will need to adjust as you see fit, but I hope this helps when you face AI.

Double adept harass. If you get a couple workers for your trouble, you’ll be ahead of the Ai and ight to be able to start safely taking a third and getting some solid econ.

just make sure you keep building units instead of only expansion. AI won’t attack when it “sees” you have more units
