The 2 casters that are getting a lot of hate right now.
I don’t want to say their names, partially that I do have respect for both of them, and secondly, they have more than enough hate and blame from the majority of the community.
Which I don’t believe it is fair. Yes, they suggested the worker change, however they mentioned, that it has to be well tested so they find the correct number of workers, they didn’t want any other changes, and they also said: if it doesn’t work out, it has to be reverted.
They are not responsible for the larva change, the gate rework, cc change, and any other insane changes.
Please let me know if you agree, or you have some other opinions: and in generally if you still play the game anymore or you are waiting for the full revert to come back.
People need to NOT jump to conclusions especially if you do not understand the history of sc2.
We had a 6 worker start and it was fun and balanced.. it was also the most popular time in history and that lasted up until LotV… and then the game became less played and less popular.
I think 8 worker start is good for the game. It feels like a really good balance honestly.
I remember a 6 worker start was fun but it took a couple of minutes to get off the ground..
BUT I LIKED THAT and most players did back then.
Let me tell you what is bad about 12 worker start.. It feels like it justr skips the early game and goes into mid/late game… (not good for zerg at all due to terran and protoss having a better late game with units much better than zerg)…
all the late game units for terran and protoss come way to easily and way to quickly.
So I am happy with the 8 worker start part of me wants to feel what the 6 worker start feels like again
So may be they could try 6 worker start next. But if they don’t I am content with the 8 worker start and I hope we never go back higher than 8 honestly
wings and hots is not the most popular. wings and hots only lasted half the life of lotv. 5 years between the two to the ten years of lotv. We have spent more time playing with 12 workers than with 6 worker start. and frankly its dumb reverting back to something that didnt last long at all.
as for the casters, dont watch artosis, no idea what yall are talking about with him, havent seen nothing about him making ideas for the latest patch. So not sure what your all on about with him.
But as for PIG.
Pig made his bed, hes gotta sleep in it now. As a caster you know that things you say have an effect on the game. If he didnt want heat for his ideas getting used, then he should of never spout out ideas for sc2 in the first place. Hes THE top youtuber when it comes to sc2. People look at him for alot of info and other things when it comes to sc2. So when a blizz intern takes his bad idea and uses it, and it turns out worse than ever realized, then he needs to step up and take the blame. It was his idea he pushed for in at least 3-4 videos. He was pushing real hard for this and they took his idea. Now hes all mad cause people are mad at him for his idea. TOUGH you dont get to play victim when your the bad guy.
I think its absolutely pathetic how pig is acting, wanted to step back for sc2 when he is responsible for the bad patch. Not cool, not cool at all. Then using the death of his kid for simpathy points in the video, that was the must disgusting thing ive ever witnessed. As a father i am apalled that he even brought him up at all, let alone pretend fake crying in the video right on cue.
I lost all respect for pig with that video. I used to love watching the salt mines and florencio files. Even played team games with flo cause of watching pig and finding flos channel. but you know some one like pig dont deserve to be a caster when you act like this. and frankly after the kid thing in the vid, i wont ever watch him. Using the death of your child as simpathy points just to take the heat off you is bad all around and as father this was disgusting to watch.
It’s easy to say this when the change, the “upgrade” was forced. WoL and HotS were removed, put to an end by a decree from the great leaders of Microsoft/Blizzard finance policy makers, whoever they may be. It is not that players were given ever any choice for which to choose between them three. So bringing this “lasted longer” as an argument about how did the previous ones fare in comparison to LotV is completely devoid (pun not intended) of any value in this context.
first, thats a giant word salad of absolute bs. secondly wol was removed for hots, hots was then removed for lotv, and thats because the game progressed via new campaign where as with the recent worker change, the change was made not via a new campaign but purely because a caster like pig thought it would shake things up. big difference here.
Well said, this is pretty much what I felt too after watching that video.
But first things first, I want to say that I’m really sorry for his loss, and I appreciate the effort he’s put into the SC2 scene.
That being said, pig sounds like a whiny child in that video, blaming everyone but himself. There is no denying that there is a causality between him advocating “his 8-worker start” and the actual hot mess of the current patch. His deceased child, tragic as it is, really has nothing to do with him advocating the 8-worker start. I don’t know why he brought it up, as far as I can tell, not a single person attacked him from that perspective (not on reddit/sc2forum at least).
as a father my heart goes out to him on this, and i really do feel for the guy, but it had no place in this video. and the " im starting to cry so i gotta pause the video" was all sho. he scripts everything in vids like this. This is why he has it all typed out in prompts before he starts his video, then reads straight from what he typed.
i havent seen anything either, and why he brought it up was to detract from the blame on himself and gain sympathy. No other reason some one would bring up a totally unrelated thing, especially something like that, other than for sympathy factor.
the man has done alot for the game, but im sorry this right here makes me lose all respect for him. its disgusting in so many ways.
also, im just gonna put this out here as well. I dont think pigs telling the truth on any of this. I think he had prior knowledge that either it was gonna happen, or he was right there with omni in the ear of the intern pushing for it.
no way is a coincidence that he came out with 3-5 vids just months before the patch rallying for 8 workers like he did, just on a whim. aint no way. thats like winning the lottery odds.
He was dodging the heat of the PTR2 discussions by playing AoE2 non-stop, then eagerly uploading multiple guide videos only a day after the official patch.
Many people on Reddit are too stupid to deny the correlation.
In one of his videos, “PvZ is EASY and this is WHY | 12th August Livestream,” he was talking sh!t about Hero and other Protoss players for their stupid strategic choices and how they were using the warpgate feature all wrong. Then he demonstrated how 0rotoss should be played and lost 0–3 to a Zerg friend.
This is clownish behavior, and the whole “sympathy point” thing is, as you just said, disgusting.
Of course he had insider info. He knew what was going to happen on the live server. 5.0.16 was released on June 23, and two days later he uploaded guide videos for all three races.
Does that timeline make sense to you?
People on Reddit told me to touch more grass and said it was completely normal to have videos released one day later because he had “time to practice,” and that I was delusional.
yeah you cant put out guides like that when pros dont even know what there doing still. Only way is with insider knowledge or pre playing the patch through a mod for enough time before hand.
