Lots of trolls join arcade games, let the countdown get to nearly 3 or 4 seconds, then leave game, then auto-rejoin and repeat, placing the lobby in a state such that the game can never start.
It’s like everyday ten times a day now.
Hosts need permanent lobby kick.

good luck with that, but you wont be getting no help, sc2 has been out of development for years now, were lucky we even get balance patchs and new maps on the reg ladder at this point.

My solution was to make a macro that scans specific parts of screens for usernames, which I put into a text file, to autokick them ASAP
Took me a few hours to make it work, but worth it

People might leave a game because you have trolls already in the lobby or because people in the lobby are so bad they’ll actively ruin the fun.
Ever since gamepass this has become more of an issue, lots of people who join a team game of some kind in Arcade and then utterly ruin it for everyone else by doing the most boneheaded stuff possible. That’s not being mean to noobs, I mean stuff like “Let’s make ZERGLINGS INTO HELLBATS” levels bad.
DS especially suffers from this. You’ll get people who are just total space cadets and have no concept of teamwork fairly consistently.
this is the state of team game ladder as well, and theres nothing we can do about it, plain and simple theres no development and blizz isnt going to fix the issue with teams let alone the arcade games which they dont even run in the first place. arcade is its own seperate entity created by the players themselves in the map maker. so if yall cant understand that if they aint doing nothing for team ladder, they sure are not going to do anything with arcade.
Yep, and it’s putting me in a foul mood more than I’m having fun. One of my favorite hobbies is basically dead now, at least on a level that I enjoy playing at. The only reason to keep this game installed now, imo, is for co-op.
i agree it gets old having a newbie tm troll almost every game you play. sc2 was something i could sit down and take 10 15 min to unwind and have a good time but when you get game after game after game of the same people who can muster more than 40 apm to save there life and either laugh about how bad they are or just act like they are the best thing to hit sc2 it gets old. i play probably around 10 to 20 games a day and probably 15 of them end up being with these types of people. the worst part is alot play unranked cause they think ranked and unranked dont play together and here i am playing to stay where im at on the ladder what mr jokester could care less if he wins or loses.
I don’t think holding the ranked and unranked thing against people is fair. That’s Blizzard’s sloppy design at work.
They couldn’t manage a McDonalds properly let alone a game like this.

I opened similar issue about a teamkiler, and seems they are more concerned about me instead addressing the issue!

Arcade games are for fun though you cant go into a game of DS and expect a random to be playing to win and not playing for fun. I play DS on wc3 alot and if you want this mentality you play on w3c the player made ladder with MMR as in bent there is no expectation players will do anything its just causal fun no? im not sure never played it on SC but as a DS enjoyed on wc3 i dont play what i think is the best line i just do whatever I want my goal is not to troll but also its normally not to win either its like can i get my mountian king to level 10 with god items and not lose etc. or i feel like necroes this game other guy has dispel out the ars even if i asses i have better lines i dont care i feel like necroes this game. So i think they are fine to be space cadets one of the reasons i like auto battlers is they are inherently casual ill literally be on a discord call playing golf with friends and playing ds at same time tabbing to drop units on screen two and i dont want to troll anyone. Custom game lobbies are for casual fun if your looking for swear your already in the right game just click meele que.
oooffff some ones about to get banned from the forums.
It’s not fun when you throw ur allies under the bus. That’s rude.
yo no one cares about direct strike or whether you play it on wc3. if your not even playing sc2 direct strike just stay out of the conversations all together. but again no one cares about ds.
oh no don’t send the coppers bro. Simple concept though arcade games are casual there should be no expectations of try Harding just have fun.
You’re not entirely wrong but again, it’s a team game. If you wanna derp around there’s plenty of 1vs1 games, maps and modes for that.
Fun shouldn’t come at the expense of your allies. That’s how you get people to become toxic.
I understand what your saying too I simply don’t agree. I also don’t think it makes people toxic, toxic people are toxic. If someone rages in a casual lobby in a video game because you didn’t play the way they wanted that’s acting like a child and entirely on them. I would say instead of there are 1:1 games that if they want to play serious they can play with friends so opposite side of this fence for me. There should be no expectations for randoms in casual lobbies period and if they get upset its because they had them when they really shouldn’t have imo.

You just admitted to using expolits in the game. Blizzard is the only ones who get to decide to punish the player not you and not map makers.
All I’m doing is using an autohotkey macro to do the job of memorising and kicking people for me. No clue what kind of exploit you’re talking about lmao
Ok so just to be clear, as an arcade developer myself, we are perfectly able to “punish players.” We can, based on handles (unchangeable account IDs), decide to do WHATEVER we want ingame. We can make units unable to move, we can hide the UI, we can wipe bank files, and, of course, literally kick people from the map. It’s relatively common practice, actually. If they make an alt, we can block the ability for new accounts to actually play (as these handles are sequentially generated, and one can compare their values), I.E. “a permanent ban list.”
It is important to note that this cannot be done in the lobby, but if someone joins a lobby and gets kicked from the game immediately, it is likely that 1 of 2 things will happen:
- The dude gets bored and does something else with his otherwise miserable life.
- The players see that this player is wrecking games and decide to be more proactive or refuse to play with him. If even one player leaves the lobby, the troll can be kicked.
Either outcome is beneficial.
