Terran marine/marauder has ridiculous dps density. Anything that has to get in their attack range just gets shredded such that you have to out tier them by and far to come close to equal grounds. If you’re not using T3 aoe vs T1 Terran, you just die. Sentries were suppose to be the small damage counter by using guardian shield, but it’s been pushed aside as a useless ability due to how easy it is to focus fire them out and the bad positioning that happens.
Fix sentries and guardian shield to better handle tip toe marine micro. I dunno. Make it to where they can auto cast a shield buff or something on individual targets or make a shield aoe bomb that coats all near by units with a shield buff or worse, a static location shield drop that lasts for a short while.

Naw I play some Protoss that actually…ya know…play the game. They build things on their side of the map and build up eco and army. Just because you can’t macro doesn’t mean Protoss as a whole cannot.

Actually void ray nerf is the best thing that could happen to protoss community. It acts as some sort of “filter” to separate decent protoss players from noobs who were stuck with gold level “cannon rush/proxy void mentality”. I hope all these fanboys soon will be gone. Actually to make cheesers even more mad i would nerf cannon rush as well. This would force them to make decision. Shall i IMPROVE and learn how to actually play the game or quit for good.
This is really in interesting idea. And could mean the sentry would be used all game, also adding abit to the skill level, as you would have another thing to micro late game, and only better protoss would be able to pull it of.
However there is one thing that again nullfies this whole idea: EMP with upgraded radius. the sentries get hit as everything else, so its as useless in pvt as all other energy based spellcasters.
I think we all saw zealots were too strong before, so I don’t think you buff them. I would either add +1 or 2 to stalkers, but only when hitting air, OR a nerf to the gas sentries require to make. Forcefield and guardian shield are criminally underused.
I assume you mean a cost reduction - a nerf implies you would be making the sentry more expensive not less.

But to keep a long thread simple, it’s hard, because on the one hand suddenly being locked out of your base HotS Immortal Sentry style is just awful and previously had very little counterplay, but on the other hand, the sentry is now useless against zerg in particular because ravagers exist, and the entire pvz early and midgame was originally balanced around forcefields.
Yes, I meant reduce the cost of mana for sentries, hopefully incentivizing more use for shields and hallucinations. Right now, the sentry is almost useless except for making a phoenix to scout.
Maybe an upgrade to make forcefields stronger (taking 2 biles or 2 hits/collisions from big units) you can unlock with later tech, or increase the ranged damage reduction of guardian shield. I know that mostly nerfs terran, but it would nerf the mass roach/ravager or roach/hydra style too.
Yeah, I made a similar suggestion, with the alternative that it reduces the timed life duration of force field on impact.
