If you want a band-aid fix bring back the mothership core, it’s just another stupid mechanic to try and make Protoss be able to survive the early game or timing pushes.
Buff Protoss in whatever necessary way it is but just remove this 1 click defense from the game.

Meh can’t fall back till sb overcharge ends? Can’t made a fight in range where sb can’t heal? Can’t emp nexus so no sb overcharge?
No…let’s not go back to when games were decided by a single 100/100 unit surviving to mid-game. When MsC died it was just game over, and it happened often enough that revisiting it is a mistake.

Battery Overcharge lets toss get away with too much, you simply shouldn’t be able to stall the game for 10 seconds, that’s an entire round of warp ins. If a terran hits you with a marine tank push or a zerg with a bunch of roaches, it’s infuriating that toss can just turn invincible and defend with a handful of stalkers. Battery overcharge is kinda a necessary evil to not make PvP unplayable but they should at least make it so it can’t target buildings because it’s just ridiculous. Especially with zerg, once you commit, if your enemy overcharges you have to retreat, bleeding units on the way back, letting your opponent’s wall get rehealed, their buildings put back up and if you’re having a particularly good day, by the time you get to go back in and attack, your opponent has another immortal and a couple more stalkers. Toss can hold off pushes with a third of the army supply, it’s abhorrent to play against, especially since you’re forced into early aggression thanks to ZvP lategame being impossible if you’re not a GM with 600 APM microing corruptor viper while casting fungals and repositioning your spore forest and transfusing and injecting and spreading creep and producing.

Comprehension is an important skill in life. That statement was just to emphasis how Overcharge is just as much as a band-aid as the mothership core. You can see below that I really just want them both removed.
An even more important skill is being able to effectively communicate your intention. Suggesting to replace a band-aid with an even older and worse band-aid does not, at all, convey that you don’t want a band-aid. It conveys only that you have poor taste in them.
I’d suggest, if you want to say: “We should remove band-aid fixes from protoss” you simply say that. Then there isn’t an unecessary onus of effort on the reader to decipher your underlying intentions. Such a task is intrinsically driven by their subjective bias, rather than your own. It seems you do not like that others draw conclusions from your lack of direction, or at least not this one, so I would recommend not giving such space to begin with.

Your claims regarding your intended meaning are diametrically opposed by your actual statements. Again, if you want anyone to understand your meaning, you have to actually state your meaning effectively. As it stands, you’re flip flopping more than an American politician.
No. At least with shield battery, you require some sort of investment into units and or defensive structures. The MSC was one of the worst bandaids in history and needed to be gone.

Nah, stop being a whiny little B. SC2 is an easy game that an orangutan can get GM in. If anything they should buff battery overcharge to actually make the game challenging.

So lets say they remove the overcharge. How is Toss holding these pushes you speak of? Often times in the early game the overcharge is the only thing that keeps you alive. With out it there is nothing you coulda done to hold.
So instead of a situation where toss is able to hang on for an extra few seconds to maybe get a few more units out to hold the push. We go into a situation where Toss has no hope at all against these early pushes. Does that seem fair to you?
Or put your money where your mouth is. Go play toss and NEVER use sb overcharge no matter what the situation is. If you can hold these early pushes (at least in diamond league but preferably master.) I’ll concede to you and agree it should be removed.
If you think sb is bad then you must have never played in the MSC days. MSC was far worse. At least with the sb the toss has to have some units. With MSC all you needed was the MSC.

tbh no I wasn’t paying attention to the names.
I still stand by my statement that OP’s statement is oracular and ambiguous with its intent due to its only cement suggestion as to a fix.
I’m not saying overcharge should be removed with no other changes. But to be honest, when I started playing, battery overcharge wasn’t in the game and mothership core was already removed. I don’t know what it was to be a protoss back then, maybe it was unplayable but I reckon people managed just fine without it.

You are right. Give the shield recharge ability to carriers so they can heal interceptors and allow overcharge to be cast on the carriers.
If they managed just fine with out it then tell me. Why did it get added? XD
Was added for a reason, that reason being it was damn near impossible to hold any committed early aggression without spending boat loads of minerals on shield bats. Funny enough, it was mostly a problem in PvP as I recall. Though it was a problem in every match up without the MSC.
What change you got in mind. Im fine with removing it if there is a reasonable thing to take its place.
