Parkinson’s law of triviality is an argument that members of an organization give disproportionate weight to trivial issues. Parkinson illustrates this concept by describing a committee whose job it is to approve the plans for a nuclear power plant. It spends the majority of its time on the relatively minor but easy-to-grasp issues, such as where to put the bike shed for the staff, while neglecting the proposed design of the plant itself, which is a far more difficult and complex task.
Parkinson argues that the nuclear reactor is so expensive and vastly complicated that the average person cannot understand it so they assume those who work on it understand it. On the other hand, everyone can visualize a cheap bicycle shed so planning one can result in endless discussions because everyone involved wants to add a touch and show personal contribution. This is the bicycle-shed effect.
He points out that problems arise after a suggestion of building something new for the community, like a bike shed, causes everyone involved to argue about the details. This is a metaphor indicating that it is not necessary to argue about every little feature based simply on the knowledge to do so.
Parkinson would be proud, because on these forums we have endless discussions about how OP creep spread is, or how zealots need yet another nerf, or how queens are the most evil thing since hitler himself - all from a group of people who are typically very low ranked and who obviously have no grasp of the much more important and yet more complex issue of how the game functions as a whole.

Accusing ‘these forums’ of something while you are one of the biggest contributors on these forums is essentially pointing at yourself. Only you don’t seem to have the self reflection to realize it.
I envy the people with such low minds that they have to state ironic laws (complaining about triviality whilst making trivial statements about very complex topics) which doesnt apply thematically or metaphorically just to feel superior. But who am i to judge?
Actually I liked this particular thread, he is right. The problem is with all the rest of the sh*t he throws to the community on a regular daily basis. And this is very pity because he may have been a very useful contributor, considering his game and statistical knowledge.

I would say with ample confidence that Terrans have benefited more from Batz"s posts.

Actually I mainly see Protoss who whines about every match-up (including PvP) and Ace who wines about TJ, but here on Umoja the Dominion filters TV news I guess.
Actually things should be seen in the proper perspective. If the A-Race is buffed on each patch in two years and B-Race is nerffed on each patch on those same years and the whine-count is the same, then you have to draw the proper conclusions.
And still even a simple arithmetic count of whine has terrans leading the pack on a wide margin.
This isnt the case at all. He mainly abuses the fact that most guys dont know anything about that. He just throws so many halfassed things around and concludes what he wants that it isnt actually clear how much he knows about statistics or not. Sometimes its reasonable sometimes not; he concludes that zerg has the weakest lategame in 2019 because of the data of 1 tournament where zerg had the lowest winrate after 20 minute mark. This is not statistics. This is plain bs and he abuses the fact that many ppl cant think logically enough to dismantle him.
Exactly. He knows how to do that, but he does it in a way that is deceiving in its intent. I called him Protagobatz for this reason, some time ago. Glad to see the forum has developed some antibodies against his sophisms in the end.
Yeah thats true. But its like with politicians. You can deceive ppl and act like you know it but you can still have zero plain of what you are doing. You need to be good at pretending and finding words. In my eyes i cant really conclude that he really knows much about this topic because he didnt really show it when he talks about it but its still possible that he knows his stuff and only wants to fool around.
But i still would like to see it more of a failure of the community than him doing something good. To see through his sh!t is actually expected after high school. And ppl still argue with him for hours and even if its clear that hes defeated he gets his good old semantics card and argues because of the sake of arguing i hate him so much for doing that. having fun is ok but if your whole life consists of keeping ppl busy its just frustrating and i dont like that attitude. maybe because i was hooked by him a few times too i really thought he was a guy who really wants to talk things through and argue on an even ground but he doesnt care at all. trolling is his only pleasure
