stalkers are a really good unit when microed well, but would roaches with tunneling claws not be good as well? by burrowing damaged roaches to the back of the ball with perfect micro and with the quick regen, would perfect roach micro be comparable to perfect stalker micro?
depends if there is an observer, or other units/etc but yeah it could work and be effective ive seen it.
Roaches are only good in the early game and at the point you won’t have burrow and tunneling claws. By the time you have those researched you’re fighting against high tech armies with splash and roaches just don’t do much. The reason it works with stalkers is because you can get blink relatively early.
I dont agree. If you know someone is light on detection you can send hit squads of 4 or 5 roaches burrow moved to each mineral line. Especially when they are fighting/distracted/moving out.
Works insanely well in ZvZ.
One thing I think that is underestimated in fights is burrowing them to get them out of danger and then morph to ravager for full heal.

And blink is instant; roach burrow takes time to burrow, time to move, and an extra shift unburrow command. Plus, stalkers can hit air which makes them useful for things like blinking to catch an escaping medivac.
I’m still waiting for the day that roaches get some sort of buff or upgrade that makes them useful beyond 2 base economy early/mid game. Unfortunately no one cares if zerg players have options for core compositions, as long as they have a path to victory that’s enough. Maybe too much. Better nerf creep some more.
i just did some testing and it looks like the 2 units are very evenly matched when at even supply and upgrades with optimal micro, with just a few queens or shield batteries being able to sway the outcome of the battle. though this is using triggers to manage the units so its completly impossible to replicate, but still its a pretty cool looking fight.

Blink in early game in pvz? Roaches not useful and hoping for a Buff so they become useful? Whats up with the Trolling in here?
Roaches are pretty bad. Ravagers or ling bane are what make roach comps ok in the midgame. There’s no point in doing burrow micro when you rather be accurate with biles and bane connections.
It used to be very OP in the early day of WoL but not anymore. I wonder what happened?
