Cannons don’t have the damage output to deal with Stim Bio drops or defend expansions against decently-sized attacks. Shield Batteries are good but require units being present to actually have the damage output to kill attackers. Oftentimes defensive Warp-Ins or Recall can supply those units, so without those, Protoss would need to split forces to have adequate defensive forces present - exactly as I said. Though again, it seems you totally ignored the context of these suggestions being the removal of Warp Gate and Recall (and for that matter, another powerful defensive tool, Forcefield).

Even without considering the defensive merits of Creep in regards to Roaches, and of Medivacs for Stim Bio, the “split forces” part of what I said still applies to Zealots and Stalkers if those are the units the Protoss player is making, since in the context of my suggestions, defensive Warp-Ins are no longer a thing.
