The idea you’re going to reason with this kid is ridiculous. You have to have half a braim to process reason.
Give it up, some people arent even bright enough to bother insulting.

The observer didn’t need the movement speed buff in the first place. It’s already cheap, easy to produce and permanently cloaked. The only trade-off you make to use them for vision and detection is 1 supply each and that is an amazing deal.
Shouldn’t have to explain how they shouldn’t be nearly impossible to catch given how much advantage scouting gives.
How does terran MISS an obs with a scan?
Move the units under the obs and THEN scan, not the other way around. lol
75 gas is not cheap… You’re thinking of widow mines.
75 gas is very cheap.
If Protoss is checking their Observer and sees Marines, they move the observer away. With the movement upgrade, it is faster than stimmed bio, that’s how they can be missed. This is pretty obvious, but I suppose only people on the receiving end would notice it.
When you allow play testing to the general public you get questionable changes.
Master+ should only be allowed.
I think they should just have a vision of what they want to make out of the game and go with it. Then give pros or high level players a reason to test these changes. The reason nobody wants to use the test matchmaking is because there’s no incentive, they want ladder points or a reasonable game. Having, say, platinum player play against a Master league player is not good incentive to try the test realm.
Nobody wants to test these things out of their good will. The people who’s opinions matter most have to prioritize the live game for their tournaments.
Buffed Observer => 3.01 - 4.62
Nerfed Observer => 2.63 - 3.94
Marine => 3.15
Stimmed Marine => 4.72
What?
Listen, guys, the observer was already SLOWER than an un-stimmed marine, and now they nerfed it again. It’s also much, MUCH slower than a banshee, and speed obs are now slower than speed banshees. This new observer has the same movement speed as a Thor. And you can’t put an obs in a medivac.
Honestly, get used to oracles guys, competent protoss will be using them as their primary detection from now on (again).
Observer ignores terrain. Marines need to stop to shoot which blocks other Marines and gives the Observer more time to escape while the Marines are fumbling over each other. Observer vision is also large enough that a Protoss paying attention will see the Marines coming, move the Observer out of scan range before the Marines can get into position chasing the Observer to kill it in a single volley.
Maybe if there was some way to make Observers easier to expend instead of letting Protoss off with a invisible boy then we might have something. So sure, I’m barely wrong about it being “faster” if we’re going to by plain numbers and not how these things actually work in the video game.
Is two obs also cheap… because that’s the price of a HT…
It takes 10 marines to 1 shot an observer when the marines are 0/0. At +1 weapons, it’s down to 9, at +2 it’s 8… And you know, marines shoot really fast, and if it’s so bad and you have only 5 marines for some reason you could stim them.
And also, observers have a REALLY low acceleration, meaning that if the observer isn’t already at full speed when the scan goes off, it’s not going to get away.
And then there is serveilance mode, which is really strong but is also a siege mode, which means EVEN SLOWER GETAWAY!
The only way as is that the observer gets away is if the protoss reacts 1-2 seconds before the terran acts. With this nerf it becomes protoss has to react 3-4 seconds before the terran acts.
The real problem with this is how observers now can’t be on the battlefield because they can’t keep up. A Zealot speed buff is pretty useless if your detection takes over a minute to cross the map; you just die to mines.
The original phoenix/adept era was largely because observers were useless, and since you ALWAYS had to go oracle to deal with mine drops, you had a stargate anyways, so it wouldn’t make sense NOT to make phoenix. Then they buffed obs, and we actually saw protoss making things that weren’t stargates, but apparently that’s a problem. So back to no obs, coupled with a raven speed buff too?
Considering how Observers don’t have nearly as much utility as a Templar, they should cost more minerals and less or no gas. If Observers were expendable then it won’t matter if they keep the original speed.
Come on dude… I can agree with you even as a not Protoss player that the observer nerf is just stupid but that nerf won’t really change anything at all. I don’t understand why people are mad on this. This is a bad change indeed but it won’t really change anything… Maybe once per 100 games you will have a slight disadvantage of observer not being at time in position on time at certain situations or something like that but thats all.
If you really want to focus on small things like that then I would like to give a request for a Raven having a hold still position and vision buff like observer and overseer had in the past not so long ago. It’s the most expensive detector and currently the only one that doesn’t even have this ability.
First of all, you are ignoring the Terrain advantage Observer has and their acceleration isn’t so slow they couldn’t escape.
Far as keeping up with Zealots, maybe if Observers were used to scout ahead of the army instead of following then they might not run into mines so often.
Maybe remove the movement speed upgrade and increase the base movement to something reasonable yet catchable and change their price to make them more expendable.
Also, FYI I think the movement speed buffs to all the Terran units this patch is stupid and lazy. I’m pretty sure this year’s patch the team’s just taking an easy way out of actually making changes.
I don’t see why Observers can’t just be good out of the box and expendable. Their only function is to detect and give vision, they’re not impossible to catch just poorly made. Making everything faster for the sake of it is just lame.
Ok, with the observer nerf, either
A) try moving your marines under the observer and then scanning, not waiting until the observer is over a cliff and then walking towards it waving your arms angrily.
-or-
B) the observer must have been reaching the cliff before you even selected your orbital commands.
With the nerf, the obs has to have pretty much made it over the cliff before you select an orbital.
Sorry what? If it takes almost the research time of charge for an obs to cross the map, then your ZEALOTS will die to mines when the observer doesn’t show. (thank goodness we don’t have to play world of sleepers with this nerf…) What you are basically saying is the obsevers should be already in position where protoss is going to attack, sitting there all game, and if terran kills an observer they just get a free defence?
If you don’t have enough units to one shot an observer with a faction of your army after obs speed, it’s because you just lost the game.
So you’re saying that Observers should never cross highground border because being slower than detector AND units that shoots air is equal of being dead.
