The most anti-commander mutation

A mutation is a combination of mutators and for every mutator, some commander will have harder time dealing with it compare to others.

Take it for example, the Darkness and Shortsighted mutators can easily be countered by Raynor’s Scan making Raynor one of the few commander not being affected by it the most.

My question is which mutator counter the most amount of commander? And when putting 3 mutators in a mutation, which map + mutation will counter the most commanders?

Vertigo counters all the commanders by virtue of making the player throw up and Alt-F4 out of the game.

To be honest I’d rather have 10 straight Vertigos than the stuff we’ve been getting for the past couple weeks.

No the real anti commander is Chaos Studios.

Chaos Studios is unimaginative and frustrating, but at least you can play it.

Missile Command plus 2 on death or on damage mutators generally counters every commander except Karax since he’s the only one with antiair defense right at the start.

Missile Command + Alien Incubation + Transmutation forces you to have a Vorazun or a Karax on your team at the start.

But I think you already got your one mutator answer in your OP, which is Afraid of the Dark messing up everyone except Raynor. I guess only Stukov can chill in Blizzard mutator but everyone else can deal with it just by staying out of the storm clouds.

Polarity. No amount of commander OPness can counter a bad partner.

Black Death anything is nasty for many commanders, propagators are nasty for several commanders.

Short sighted and fatal attraction (seriously should be suffocation, nobody cares about the pull aspect, just the stun lock) both favor durable and short range or expendable and short range. So, Zagara and Abathur and I guess Stukov/Stetmann.

But Stukov counter Vertigo.

Wrong I was able to do the Polarity+Just Die Brutation on Sythe of Amon with a horrible ally before Stettmen got his nerfs with Mecha Infestors. I had like such an insane horde units with my 40 infestors that my garbage level 10 raynor noob was able to destory the shards he needed to destroy fairly easily because all my mecha roaches/revengers were soaking up all the damage. Despite it being a polarity Brutation I was able to get 786 kills by the end of it and my ally only got 206 because I was just that damn aggressive and relentless. Most of the attack waves didn’t even get completely defeated, but they couldn’t advance towards our base because of the never ending horde of units that were staling them.

Best counter i can think of is Cradle of Death + Vertigo, Progandator, Darkness.

Polarity + Darkness + Propagators and you probably got me at long last.

If you took Propagators out of Chaos Studios then it’d actually be fun. But right now it’s like a do it once deal.

You know, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen you inflating your ego about your supposed skill online – it seems to be a habit of yours. So I decided to do some investigating in your match history to see if you ever played such a game.

Turns out that even after repeated triple checks, you not once won any game with a Raynor ally. Better yet, I even have proof of this:

https://imgur.com/a/45XPwgU

As demonstrated in the screenshots, there aren’t any instances of you doing such a thing with Raynor.

So in other words, you made the whole thing up. You never carried any Raynor, let alone one that is level 10.

And I think I should mention that your story is highly suspect itself, which is something I noticed even before I began my investigation. You claimed to have stalled them without “completely [defeating]” them, and if this is true then it would be impossible to have killed them and added to your kill count, as this would require ally assistance due to Polarity + Just Die! mechanics. However, if all you did was stall them then it is extremely unusual how you got 700 kills when you claimed to merely stall them. You also conveniently left out how you survived the early to mid game (a point where you have not enough infestors to stall them) if your ally really was this bad. Not to mention that stalling the enemy for such extremely long periods of time is a strategy that does not work as the waves will accumulate into overly large groups if you stall for too long – you will have to address them at some point. If you’re going to fabricate a story at least try to make it sound believable.

And even in this case, what LilArrin said is not “wrong” at all. Progress would literally be impossible on Polarity maps with a bad partner, regardless of commander OPness, due to objectives being immune and the early-mid game requiring ally participation to ensure you don’t take catastrophic economic damage – in other words, progress is literally impossible in the circumstance that you get an ally who does not contribute sufficiently. Even if for some wacked out reason your story was true, it has no bearing on the truth of this statement – LilArrin remains correct. I especially would like to emphasize this part I mentioned beforehand.

So nice try attempting to inflate your ego even more.

Sorry to disappoint you, but turns out its true, but apparently it was with a Stukov and not a Raynor, I got that part mixed up and that’s why you couldnt find it, but nonetheless it was still a superb carry and here’s the screenshot with the results.

damn fourms dont let me post a link for some reason, so you just gotta get rid of those spaces in the link. I’d post a replay, but I have no idea how you guys do that.

Alright then, let’s say I give you the benefit of the doubt even despite the suspicious circumstances and take a closer look.

The screenshot you provided doesn’t look at all like a carry. 60k Infested damage and 20k monstrosity damage? Those aren’t numbers that indicate subpar play at all, those look completely normal. In particular, considering only 15k damage was done to Slivers this tells me that a lot of that 80k total damage was spent not on slivers, but on waves and base defenses. Hardly what I’d call a “carry.”

So I find your claim of it being a “superb” carry highly suspicious.

I do encourage you to share the replay, I’m very curious to see how you managed to get through the early-mid game with your Stukov ally not helping you, and I’m also curious to see how you got 700 kills when you claimed to not kill them and instead stall them. Killing and not killing them at the same time is quite an intriguing statement, to say the least.

So I’ve provided two links you can use for the purpose of sharing a replay: https://drop.sc/ is one such site you can use (no account required for this), or https://www.mediafire.com/ is another site you can use if you’re so inclined (you need an account though for mediafire).

So okay then, show me this “superb carry” of yours. Because the Stukov stats on that screen show me that the Stukov was very well contributing their weight to the mission and it just looks to me that your kill count was inflated from units respawned via Void Rifts (bugged interaction and units that are respawned, not initially spawned, don’t benefit from Polarity). As stated before, I’m very curious to see how you managed to get through the early game without your Stukov ally helping you – it’s at this point where you’re not able to rely on the Infestor stall strategy and will require an ally’s aid for this part.

Yeah me is curious too. It feels not possible to stall hybrids regardless whatever units you are using.

The last few weeks of combinations have been utterly frustrating, so I’d put those up there…another one I absolutely hated was

Alien Incubation - All enemy units spawn Broodlings upon death.

Fatal Attraction - When enemy units and structures die, any of your nearby units are pulled to their location.

Self Destruction - Enemy units explode and deal damage to friendly player units upon death.

Map - The Vermillion Problem

(edit: it wasn’t scorched earth, actually…just remembered they exploded.)

I don’t know if it countered a lot of commanders, but the few I played at the time were all annihilated by it.

My least favourite mutators are:

  • Polarity
  • Propagators
  • Slim Pickings (just really annoying)

I haven’t tried Vertigo, and don’t plan on trying it.

My post deviates from the thread’s purpose a bit, but since I don’t have enough knowledge to actually answer the question, we can just pretend my answer are my 3 least favourites…maybe sub ‘Slim Pickings’ for ‘Just Die.’

Well, Nitrousoxide still hasn’t provided any replays in the last 48 hours. I think it’s safe to assume that he was just blowing smoke and was attempting to inflate their own ego using a fake story, given that even now Nitrousoxide hasn’t provided anything.

Well, doesn’t really come as a surprise that Nitrousoxide would do this tbh, this isn’t the first time he’s lied about his feats after all. At least this confirms it.

Polarity, just because without a voice chat is often too much hard of what it should actually be, between bad coordination and stupid mistakes by myself or my ally.
From my experience the best counters for polarity are Zagara and Vorazun, the first can literally carry the early to mid game by adding DPS to your ally and being an incredible meat shield, the second is super strong and solid on mid to late game, plus the crowd control between black hole and The W O R L D!.

Also it’s not even funny, it’s unbearably frustrating (like this week) most times, with a few exceptions, like the one of two weeks ago on SoA
