I have Played the SC2 Games, and one Problem I always seem to have is ‘Staying online while waiting for games’. To me, as of the AFK System is of right now, its Too Harsh for my taste.
As I was waiting for the games, I sometimes have to do other stuff, and I may be gone for more then 3 minutes, but when I get back, its says that I was Kicked out because I was away for too long.
I Want this to be Fixed and to make it more Fair then this. Rather then AFK Kicking Right off the bat, Instead make it so that the player get a AFK Tag and also have a command for a AFK player to Kick the player for the times of its past or whether they should be still be in here or not. So as to make it let them have a chance for them to let them stay for the game to go, because sometimes a Lobby takes longer then 3 minutes to fill, And that can be annoying if you are waiting for a Lobby to fill.
If you have read this, I hope the AFK System get Fixed to let Players wait for players to come.

Maybe Blizz should change this. I don’t play teams that regularly, but I could see it being annoying.

He means he gets kicked while waiting for a game to fill with players and start. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes or so, and u get kicked if you dont move the mouse before 3 minutes pass.
It is in fact annoying Af.

I agree. When I host sc2 custom games that take time to fill the lobby, the AFK kick is too harsh. If Blizzard removes auto-AFK kick from custom games and just makes it optional by host, it will benefit the less popular maps and makes incentive to make sc2 custom maps.

Why would you start a queue when you know you have stuff to do? This always bugs me in team games. If I have stuff to do then I don’t start a game, simple as that. It is good that you get kicked right away because then your minerals and units can be used by the other players. Nothing worse then when you start to produce units and see one person being completely useless after also waiting for the game to start.
Once I did win a game where one of my team members were kicked from being AFK and I used their units to do a delayed rush and won.

Its not In-Game, as you are talking. I’m Arguing about the lobby. Not In-Game. Because the Lobby wait sometimes Takes Much longer then the AFK Systems allows you to stay AFK for.
Sorry if I haven’t Replied in awhile, I don’t really Look at it instantly because this is actually my first time.
But I still wonder why would you join a lobby then go AFK, especially longer then the system would allow? What if the lobby filled up right away (I know unlikely but what if) then you would be be AFK from the game. I still think if you know you have stuff to do and you are going to be gone for a while, just don’t queue up as a courtesy to those who are patently waiting.
Because Some Particular Maps Actually Don’t Fill up right away Like Cortex Roleplay and some other Arcade Maps. And because of this AFK Kicking Mechanism. It kinda Discourage People from coming in and playing
overwatch is even harsher, there you get kicked for spending time in the options menu(less than a minute).
Man, Blizzard Really needs to Seriously Change the AFK System if its THAT Harsh
you get no arguments from me.

I use auto hotkey and execute a program to type the letter “A” every 60 seconds in lobby chat. Solves the problem for me.
This is the most annoying thing about trying to play custom games. I have two monitors, and I play the game in fullscreen (windowed). If i’m on my other monitor reading something or scrolling through pictures of cats I can still see if the game is starting, but blizzard kicks me for AFK.

Blizzard, please relax the AFK timer in the lobbies. I mean it’s not even a matter of being AFK, you can just be sitting there waiting for the lobby to fill up and BAM kicked…

1000% agree. I actually thought it was a bug that I kept getting kicked for being “inactive” while I was sitting there patiently waiting. Then you rejoin and the next person who took over lobby host automatically is legitimately AFK, for some reason they were allowed to wait without moving their mouse or whatever.
Even if a warning popped up on screen and gave you a 3 minute countdown to end the lobby if you don’t move the mouse, that would be much better than watching yourself getting instantly kicked from a lobby that has risen up near the top of the recent lobbies list only to have to start it all over again if no one has joined yet. At least give us a choice to acknowledge whether we are actually AFK or not because 90% of the time I’m actually not.
