Terran Is my favorite race to play but my worse.
Take a good look at the [aligulac. com/misc/balance/] purple line, it’s flat. after YEARS of getting dominated TVZ is even (or very slightly Zerg favored). Gather round, Ladies and gentlemen, a true Zerg whiner, in his natural habitat, crying that he no longer is guaranteed a win, because even though his race is far easier, it’s no longer overpowered to boot.

Dont you know that the only valid statistics are gm percantage and matchup winrates in tournaments, duuuh?

Thing is, if you look at the total number of Zerg players vs their representation in GM, they’re doing MORE than fine, it’s just that their not 33% of Gm (which wouldn’t be fair either, because Random exists).

Yeah. and they always get the worldwide statistic which includes china (46% gm toss). without china the representation is fairly equal, which is indeed weird because, like you mentioned, they have a smaller player base.
EU is also around 42%.
True. But swings around heavily. 1 month ago it was fine. Gm percantage is a weird thing.
GM% really only determines one thing: which race is best to get GM with. It doesn’t really have anything to do with balance, because this is about tournament level, not ladder.

Each dot is a pro player. X axis is their Elo ranking in their mirror matchup. Y is their Elo ranking against Zerg. Terran does better vs Zerg than they do vs other Terrans. This isn’t an outlier. It’s a trend.
Why would a race do better in an asymmetrical matchup than a symmetrical one? Because the asymmetry gives terran an advantage. Terran is overpowered.

You are clearly having a hard time understanding the graphs, so lets put it into simpler terms. Terrans gain +8% performance vs Zerg plus an additional +15.3 Elo on top of that.
So, if a terran has 200 Elo in TvT, his TvZ Elo will be (200 * 1.08) + 15.3 = 231.3.
I always find it funny how literally every Zerg’s argument is that the statistics we have don’t matter and how they cherry picked some kind of new set of stats (cherry picked tournaments, cherry picked player populations) that are somehow valid.

For someone at the top, such as 800 TvT Elo, it would be 879.3 or basically +10%.
Now, Elo is a logistic algorithm so a +10% to Elo rank is a much larger increase in win-rate. It would actually cause a 39/61% win-rate split, so it gives a terran an 11% increase in odds to beat an equally skilled opponent. That’s massive in a best of three, since it increases the odds of the terran winning the match to 67%. The odds of a terran beating an equally skilled Zerg goes up to 70% in a best of 5 and 73% for a best of 7.
Again, this isn’t an outlier. This is a trend. This is every pro player who has at least 100 recorded games and has played at least 1 pro game in 2020. Terran as a race is better than zerg.
